TDM2400P driver change
Hello, Thank you for your support of Digium and Asterisk. Yesterday, we identified a problem with the driver for the TDM2400P card when used with FXO port modules. The X400M was producing (and expecting) the audio signal at an abnormally high level, which negatively impacted the performance of the echo cancelers, both hardware and software. It also resulted in unusual audio artifacts when the

How to Samba share with mixed Active Directory 'Classic' authentication
Uhhh, what is wrong with how Active Directory is running? I have plenty of machines that are and are not attached to various NT-style and AD-style domains, hosted by Samba, and I can access the files I want. On Fri, Nov 9, 2018 at 7:35 PM Mark Foley via samba <samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > I have a Samba4 AD Domain with one of the file servers as a domain member. > This file

How to Samba share with mixed Active Directory 'Classic' authentication
I have a Samba4 AD Domain with one of the file servers as a domain member. This file server host the main network shares for the domain. Currently, Windows users mapping this share are authenticated using their AD domain credentials. That all works just fine. What I want to do now is ALSO allow a user on a network host which IS NOT a domain member, and the user is not domain users to also

Samba 2.0.x unusable for this environment
I just attempted to upgrade from Samba 1.9.18p10 to Samba 2.0.4b, and I have had to revert to 1.9.18p10 in less than a day. I attempted to upgrade to 2.0.1 back in January, and had to back off as well. I was hoping the problems I saw then would be resolved in 2.0.4b. I sent a message to this list back in January or February as well, but saw no responses. My environment is about 210 Win95 PCs

Samba-created files with POSIX ACLs gaining execute bit
These are the latests.. And the Why, Andrew already explain. Due to the mappings with windows acls. If the exec bit is missing, no windows programm will be allowed to start of a share. If i download an msi file to install and put it on a share, its not allowed to execute it. Which is exact what i want in my case. You might want to read

Installing Asterisk 11 on VirtualBox: Illegal Instruction
I'm trying to install and run Asterisk 11 on Ubuntu 12.04.2 running over Oracle VM VirtualBox (v 4.1.8). So far I have tried it following two guides. The first is the one from "Asterisk: The Definitive Guide" 4th edition (http://ofps.oreilly.com/titles/9781449332426/asterisk-Install.html) and the one from Billy Chia "How to Install Asterisk 11 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS"

best, safest and easiest way to provide remote access to files on linux machine
dear list. this question is rather related to samba, although not exclusively. I consider it related enough to ask here, please apologise if you don't. we are in the process of setting up a samba domain at my company. a goal is to replace our current nt4 servers. another goal is to provide an easy way to access the documents on the lan (and peoples home directories) from 'outside'

asteriskdocs.org says 3rd ed. is latest
I made myself look a little silly recently in a talk regarding asteriskdocs.org. I didn?t realize the 4th ed. of the Definitive Guide was apparently actually out (http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920025894.do), because I went by asteriskdocs.org?s claim that it was being worked on in OFPS (now retired, apparently.) Is the 4th ed. available to read online like the 3rd ed. was? Is someone on

NT4.0 rename on Samba 1.9.18p2 share on SunOS 4.1.3
I am seeing an odd behavior with NT4.0 SP3 workstations trying to rename files on Samba 1.9.18p2 shares on SunOS 4.1.3 servers. Rename, whether it is run from Explorer, winfile.exe, or command prompt fails with "Access Denied I don't see the problem from Win95 PCs at all, and I don't have the problem with shares from Samba 1.9.18p2 shares on Solaris 2.5.1 servers using identical

providing webdav remote access to samba
hello all. I know this is a little bit of topic, but I guess this will interest of you anyway, and I didn't know where else to ask... So here it is: Does anyone here provide a webdav remote access interface to the network? And if yes: what software are you using for it? I'm currently doing this on my network using davenport. (http://davenport.sourceforge.net/) Even though this works
