Asterisk + VOSP account working configuration?
Hello
I'm having a difficult time finding precisely what to put in
sip.conf and extensions.conf (and possibly other files) to get a
working configuration to connect an Asterisk (1.4) server to a VoIP
provider with the Asterisk server + SIP clients located in a private
LAN behind a NAT router:

[newbie] Conference call
Hello
I've never used Asterisk for a three-person call, and would like to
check that MeetMe is the way to do this.
The ADSL modem provided by my ISP offers free calls to
landlines/cellphones when using a handset connected to an RJ11 port on
the modem.
A three-person call can be set up by using the standard PBX sequence:
1. Using the handset, call party #1
2. Hit "R" key on

Call sip:user@domain.com?
Hello
At this point, I have an Asterisk 1.4 + PC running XLite behind a NAT
set up with a VOSP trunk that I can use to make/receive calls to/from
the PSTN.
Now, I'd like to be able to call any number on the Net that is
advertised as "sip:user at domain.com", such as those:

Do I need to register a second trunk (FWD, etc.) through which

"Follow me" with Asterisk that detects cellphone voicemail and similar announcements
Hi all,
sorry if the subject is a bit confusing, but I just couldn?t think of a good way of better describing the situation?
Basically, I travel a lot and have several SIM cards for my phone from local carriers. What I?d like to do now is to setup Asterisk, so that people who want to reach me just have to dial one number which forwards the call to all my cellphone numbers in turn. I?m still

running asterisk through cellphone
hi everybody,
I'm currently planning a small-sized web-applicaiton allowing users to
call-in via phone. the phonecalls should be recorded and processed further
by some custom scripts - sounds like asterisk is a perfect match for this
app.
however, during prototyping I have no ISDN-connection whatsoever available,
so I was asking myself if it's possible to connect a cellphone via

Transfer calls from cellphone
Hello,
Avaya has a nice feature that allows you to
a) ring both a cellphone and a desktop phone at the same time
b) transfer calls (and access other PBX features) from the cellphone that recieved the call, as long as the call is bridged through the PBX
c) while talking on the cellphone, pick up the handset on your desktop phone and the call is automatically moved there, hanging up the cellphone

Configuring server to call SIP numbers on the Net?
Hello
This is a newbie question : With a simple Asterisk server on a private
LAN, an FXO port to handle the PSTN, and an ADSL connection to the
Net, ie. with no VOSP in the mix... how should I configure Asterisk so
that SIP clients can dial SIP numbers on the Net, such as those below
to perform an echo test?

I tried pasting numbers in XLite, but nothing

DTMF not recognized on overseas call from cellphone
We have PSTN lines connected to FXO lines of a TDM400B. I just got a
complaint that overseas callers who are using cellphones sometimes find
that DTMF digits aren't working - they press digits and the menu goes on
as if they hadn't pressed anything. Since it sometimes works, and other
IVRs work over the same cellphones, it's not that the cellphone isn't
sending the digits.

DTMF not working on overseas cellphone calls
I thought I sent this earlier this week, but I didn't see it. If I
missed it, I apologize for the resend.
We are running asterisk 1.2.2 with a TDM04B connected to PSTN lines. On
incoming calls from cellphones located overseas, DTMF is not recognized
- we have many single-digit choices in our menu so the problem isn't
that some digits aren't working, it's not listening at

ISDN landline ?
How can then you differentiate an SMS call from a voice call ?

call forwarding callerID
Hi list,
This is not necessarily an asterisk issue, but a lot of you guys know
way more then me, so I have a question:
someone at my company sets his phone to forward calls to his cellphone,
so someone calls our office, call is forwarded to his cell, and the
callerID that shows up on his cell is of course our office number,
because asterisk originates a new call to his cell and then bridges

FollowMe / Asterisk 1.4 Question
Is there a way to strip the normal features out of FollowMe (call
acceptance, etc), and just set followme up to to blind transfer any call
to an extension's associated cell number if it is not answered on the
extension after 4 rings? Users want followme calls to wind up in their
cellphone voicemail and I'm having some issues with ring/answer timing
and Asterisk wants to pull the call

Connect intercom to Asterisk?
Hello
I just read this article about a kid in England who built a box with a
3G SIM card:
www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1394448/Doorbell-tricks-burglars-thinking-youre-home-invented-schoolboy-Laurence-Rook-13.html
When someone rings your intercom, the box will call your cellphone so
you can answer just like you were home.
I don't know anything about electronics and would like to

Dial() M parameter in 1.6.2.11-rc2
Hi,
I can't figure out what syntax to use with the Dial() "M" parameter
for the AEL parser to interpret properly. Creating an AEL
macro named "macro-screen()" partly works as a hack, but it must
not turn into a gosub properly, so I get warnings about the "return;".
Dial(...,tgM(&screen)) with the ael macro named "screen" does not work

OT: Quad-band cellphones with wifi & stable sip support
Hello,
I am looking to purchase a new quad-band cellphone and I'm looking for
one with WiFi and enough CPU power for stable SIP calls. I was wondering
if anyone here can share his experience and recommend on a good
cellphone. Any chance there is such a phone with even good WiFi profiles
management or am I asking for too much now? :-)
Thanks, Tomer.

Hello,
I need to write a script which prompts the callee to type a number,
and then read it back to them as confirmation:
