Getting caller-name - cid_rewrite 1.0.0
Hi folks, I think my little agi script is ready for the big one-oh-oh.
Available at http://muware.com/asterisk is cid_rewrite-1.0.0. This
agi-script does the following:
- Standardize incoming caller-id numbers to adhere to US dialing code;
NANPA numbers are reformatted to 1+10, international numbers become
011<country-code><number> (this is customizable with a little PHP
knowledge).

ASTCC: potential billing issue and "fix"
Before I start, I just want to say this is not necessarily a problem
with ASTCC, but may be a problem the way I have set up ASTCC (and
possibly the way others have set it up as well). The issue is that ASTCC
tries to match the pattern *anywhere* in the called number, not
necessarily only at the beginning.
I have set up ASTCC Routes like this:
1800 Tollfree Trunk1 0 0 100
1416 Canada Trunk2 0 0

NuFone International Calls
Does anybody know how to do an international call using NuFone. I realise
this isn't really the place to ask, but NuFone appears to be closed for
the weekend and would like to have a try at this before tomorrow. I
assumed it would be '011' for an international line followed by country
code but that doesn't seem to work.
I am getting:

All non US 48 area codes?
Is there a list somewhere or a way to find the following:
1- All non US 48 area codes which can be dialed as 1+10
2- All strange area codes which are used for premium services such as
900-XXX-XXXX
3- Anything else that should be restricted if one was to restrict all
calls to US 48 only
I have found many list but it's tough looking at the entire list of
area codes and pulling out each of them

How to number extensions - Which way is best?
If this topic has been discussed already, please point me to it. I have
looked, and I don't see any discussion in the past couple of months or in
the wiki.
When setting up your inside extensions, it can be helpful to choose the
numbering carefully. Ideally, you would like it to not conflict with the
dialing of an outside number.
For example, the extension...

USA dial plan
Hi,
Do the callers in USA dialling from USA Telco lines always have to
prefix the CITY/AREA code with "1" in order
To successfully make a call to other USA destinations?

I have not been to USA (yet) :)

Polycom: full caller ID?
Hi, all. When I get calls on my SoundPoints, I only see the number -- is
there a way to get the alpha portion of the CID, as well?
Thanks!

CLASS feature syntax
I'm looking to implement some basic CLASS features, using my own
dialplans as well as those so thoughtfully contributed by "The
Traveller" a few weeks back.
However, instead of building my own dialing sequences (*69, *67, etc.
etc.) for these features, I went looking for the standard list of
CLASS dialing codes. I found this

Billing Fun - anybody know where to get a NPA/NXX db?
Hello;
I've been playing with a nifty Open Source java based report writer
called Datavision (datavision.sourceforge.net) and I've managed to write
enough logic to calculate phone bills at different rates from the MySQL
cdr's. (cdr_addon_mysql) Eventually I want to have sets of rate
structures for each user of the system - so I can bill client A at 3
cents a minute and client B at 2

Interesting Dial-Plan Question
Hi,
When I setup a user, I give them an extension like 570xxxxxxx. This
is fine and dandy while in one area code, but we've since gone to
other area codes. I'd like the user's to retain the ability to dial
7 digits no matter what number they have. Any thoughts on how to do
that?
EXAMPLE: User has number 7175551212. I want that when they dial
3235555 it dials 717-323-5555.

Multi-ISP - rules for one interface
I have two external interfaces in a Multi-ISP config. I allow access to
port 81 for a webcam, but I only want that to work for one of the
interfaces, and I want to limit the connections to it by maximum time
for one user, or failing that, maximum connections, as people just leave
it running on their desk all day (it''s a Caribbean beach so people sit
and dream).

ISO3 code to 7 continents names
df is a data frame consisting of one variable (iso3 codes) such as
USA
RUS
ARG
BGD
ITA
FRA
Some of these iso3 codes are repeated and I would like the corresponding
continent name, the countrycode package does not seem to distinguish
between North and South America. Thanks.

Transfer from IAX call
I am using IAX to send a call to my cell phone. I want to be able to hit #
and transfer it back into the office. I have added tTr to the dial command
and hitting # prompts me for the transfer, but after I start dialing 103,
it stops at 1 and tries to transfer it within nufone instead of my
dialplan. This is the debug output:

Vertical
Hi all.
I'm in the process of configuring a phone system for my family and friends.
I'm wondering if I should try to implement the "Vertical
Services" (http://www.nanpa.com/number_resource_info/vsc_assign) in the
Asterisk dialplan, or if I should delegate those functions to the various
ATA's.
For example, the Sipura SPA 2002 can handle*69 internally. On the other

NPA NXX data
HI all - I know, slightly off list, but.. I'm looking for a NPA NXX database with City and State. Actually it's for an Asterisk routing app I'm working on. I see several vendors that want a few bucks to those that want an arm and leg. I expect this is published somewhere by some government agency, but Google hasn't got me to it yet.

PRI timing settings
Hello,
I wrote earlier today about a new PRI installation in the Caribbean,
where all outbound calls are functioning fine *except* calls to Sprint
phone numbers, which get rejected immediately as "busy".
The telco has been working with their switch manufacturer and took the
output of "pri show span 1" from me and came back with this:

Time based calls charging and "reserved" numbers up to 999!
In United Kingdom, we have time based dialling pricing from most of
Telco's
based on time the call is placed! It is called PEAK (08.00- 18.00
Mon-Fri), OFF PEAK(18.00-08.00 Mon-Fri) and WEEKEND (all other times!
Could someone from any of other countries let me know if time based
charging exists in your country?
Also, what numbers (up to 999) are commonly used for emergency, police
or other
