Trouble with upgrading - RBS T1
Upgrading an ancient customer installation... was running 1.4.23.1
(Trixbox) with Zaptel 1.4.12.9 and a Sangoma A102D, which has been
running fine for 5+ years. Customer getting anxious about hardware
failure, so we built a new box and installed 1.8.24.0, Dahdi 2.7.0.1,
and a new Sangoma A104D. The single active span is an RBS T1
B8ZS/ESF/E&M Wink.
I tried to move one span over one

Credit Card processing machines
Anyone have much luck with these on ATA's? I have a few sites that use
them succesfully with multi-port Audiocodes boxes, but just connected ten
machines to Linksys 2102s and they are very flaky. Using u-law on a 100Mb
switched network that is barely utilized, then out a T1 on a Sangoma card.
Perhaps there is some tuning on the Linksys or the credit card machine
itself? Going to look

Alarmreciver
Hi,
Did anyone try to set up alarmreceiver application over IP network? Which
ATA can I use? I tried to set up it with Linksys PAP-2 but with no luck.
Maybe I did something wrong with alarmreceiver.conf (I tried diverse
settings, but nothing worked).
Sometimes alarmreceiver is able to get some events but sometimes not. I
think Linksys PAP-2 has a problem with recognizing digits in appropriate

mock and iaxmodem
I am trying to build an rpm package for iaxmodem-1.2.0. At the
moment I am still trying to get a working spec file put together. I
have managed to get an SRPM produced but the binary build from this
fails due to there being no install task in the Makefile.in provided
with the source.
I have found a spec file from opensuse that provides this in the
install portion:

Asterisk in production as a fax server, anyone?
Greetings, All-Knowing Asterisk Users List,
My company needs to build a reliable fax server that can handle at
least 30 simultaneous incoming faxes from the PSTN, using PRI. We
realize that this can be solved in any number of ways using a Linux box,
but since IVR is also a must, Asterisk popped up as the most promising
solution.
After combing these lists for clues, we began experimenting

Alarmreceiver
Hi,
I just want to ask if anyone has some experience with Alarmreceiver application in * 1.2? Is this application reliable (according to wiki it isn't)?
I managed to communicate Asterisk (Alarmreceiver) with a burglar alarm, but it behaves very strange. Sometimes alarmreceiver is able to get some events but sometimes not.
Maybe there are some other non commercial applications which work under

T.38 on a MAX/Lucent/Ascend TNT
Hello folks,
I've been trying to get T.38 over SIP working with calls terminated by a
MAX/Lucent/Ascent TNT. As far as I can tell, SIP and T.38 are actually
working perfectly; however, I can't get the TNT to properly terminate a
FAX call. Does anyone have a working configuration for SIP and T.38 for
calls from a TNT or APX?
Here's a brief description/diagram of my test setup:

LXC and Dahdi
Howdy,
I am playing around with asterisk within an LXC container on Ubuntu 11.04.
I have asterisk (1.4.42) running fine, but want access to dahdi_dummy for
timing (meetme). I have dahdi installed on the "host", and dahdi_dummy is
loaded:

Alarm events + asterisk dies
Hi All,
I am getting these events in asterisk message log:
NOTICE[16647] chan_zap.c: Got event 4 (Alarm)...
NOTICE[16647] chan_zap.c: Alarm cleared on channel 1
after that asterisk exits silently until I restart it. Sometimes zapata
drivers also get in a state where I need to physically restart the
machine. Does anyone have any suggestions how to troubleshoot these
alarm events?

Asterisk Dahdi 1.6.2.23 Iaxmodem

I have anolog lines coming throug Dahdi to Asterisk Server, one of the
anolog lines is used for fax line. I received fax fine without any problems

IAXMODEM dial out using Dahdi channel, dahdi answers and start to dial the
outside number however Iaxmodem thinks that dahdi is the remote fax machine
and starts sending fax

IAX2 peer question
What does the (T) mean? Am playing around with running an IAX trunk over
an OpenVPN session and see this only on this peer.
demopbx/sunfone 10.222.0.6 (D) 255.255.255.255 4569 (T) OK

Same thing on the other side:
sunfone/demopbx 10.222.0.1 (S) 255.255.255.255 4569 (T) OK
(31 ms)

"POTS 4K linear codec"
I am not sure what the problems are and the reasons for the basic 64K modems
used in VOIP are. I understand the compressed codecs that get the bandwidth
down to 20-30 K. And perhaps the 64K units give much better potential audio
than you would get on a normal POTS line.
But, as phone circuits VOIP/SIP doesn't seem to perform as well as plane old
phones.
Multiple transcodings cause issues.

looking for a better ATA
I currently us Linksys/Ciscio, Grandstream and AudioCodes ata's. none of
the three perform well in all enviroments. Between stablity issues, T38 and
DTMF talkoff all three suffer some combination of issues.
I am looking at Patton and Innomedia. Has any one tried either brand and
what is your experience with them. Which would be the base for stability,
audio quality, provisioning, DTMF

IAXModem/Hylafax problem
I think I'm very close to getting IAXModem and Hylafax going, but my
current inbound hylafax logs show this:
Feb 23 10:09:37.98: [ 3638]: MODEM <Empty line>
Feb 23 10:09:37.98: [ 3638]: MODEM TIMEOUT: waiting for v.21 carrier
Two questions -
1) Does anyone know what step I missed here? (I.e. please help!)
2) Is there a document I should be working off of? Google doesn't seem

Anybody lucky with this config inside an Asterisk server for dealing with

Realtime and PostgreSQL
Has anyone had any luck with PostgreSQL and Realtime? The realtime
instructions on voip-info seem pretty straight forward... just not woking for
me. I've included all of my config files below, and my console output.

Red Alarm on X100P
I'm having sporadic problems with my X100P card. When trying trying to
call out I get a message on the console that the channel is busy even though I
have bounced asterisk. It seems the card grabs the line and doesn't let go.
When I try to call the number I get a busy signal. If I perform a rmmod wcfxo
and restart asterisk everything retruns to normal. I have a TDP400P installed
