Connecting home intercom to Asterisk?
Hello
I assume I'm not the first one to think about this: Is it possible to
connect an intercom and/or door bell to Asterisk, so that I can get an
e-mail that someone rang my place while I was out?
Even better: If used for a doctor's office, it'd be cool if patients
could type their Social Security Number on a keypad, which would open
the door and notify Asterisk which would then

Is there any Asterisk controllable thermostat?
I am wondering if there is any such thermostat available which can be
controlled from Asterisk. Like you call your home pbx, dial some extension,
e.g. 333 and it asks to set the temperature, you enter a temperature, and it
sets the thermostat to that temperature. This thermostat will be very
useful, e.g. when you're coming back home after a few days and now its
snowing and you want home to be

tripplite smart2000rmxl2u product id 3014
First, apologies if this is the wrong mailing list to pose this question. That said, my question:
This is my first time using nut. Just built nut-2.2.2. The tripplite driver does not support my version of the smart2200 which has a product id of 3014. Does anyone know about this ups? There is a 3012. I'm tempted to simply add the 3014 to tripplite-hid.c to see if it will "just

MGE Pulsar Ellipse 800 offearly or box shutdown late
I'm struggling to configuring nut for MGE Pulsar Ellipse 800 (at least
Ellipse 800) for two boxes - home firewall and file server. I'm using
Debian 4.0 Etch, every one of them.
I'm built (after some dangerouse experiments) a testing configuration,
where boxes are plugged to line, server playing as a master, firewall as a
slave, and UPS connected to an electric heater about 300 Wats (no

X100M never goes on-hook state
Hi guys,
I've been experiencing a very strange issue with my Digium Card TDM400
as of this week. It has two FXS and two FXO.
The FXO modules (both of them) never goes on-hook after hanging up in
Asterisk. It had worked perfectly well for over four years.
I put an ammeter in series with the line and the card, and immediately
after plugging the connector to the card, I got 26mA in the circuit

DPMA and Sending fake auth rejection for device
Greetings all,
After a long day of fighting with GTalk and having it finally working, I
wanted to setup DPMA on my Digium phone.
So first of all, I had to reinstall it all and reconfigure it all, since
it works only on certified versions, and my installation was not from
the certified branch. It took a long time of recompiling, testing,
adding missing stuff, but I got it straight.
Now, I

Interdomain trusts (Bind NACK received on pipe)
I'm attempting to set up a 2-way NT4-style trust between samba 3.0.1-2
(from source rpm on redhat 7.2) and Windows 2003 running active directory.
The AD server (SANDMAN) trust of my Samba domain works fine, but when I
try to use the Samba trust of the AD server I get the following error:

Digium FXS specifications and limits Question
Howdy All,
I'm considering Asterisk / Digium as a replacement to my existing phone
switch. I need to continue to be able to push analog lines between
multiple buildings in a campus environment.
The Digium Analog 410 Card manual states it's not recommended to go
beyond 1500 feet distance for an FXS card, and no line should leave the
building or be bundled. The 2400 Series Manual does

ARIMA with more than one seasonality period
Dear R community,
I have a project with electricity load forecasting, and I got hourly
data for system load. If you haven't worked with electricity before,
seasonality comes in many flavors: a daily pattern, with a peak at
around 7pm; a weekly pattern, in which we use more electricity on
weekdays in comparison to weekends; a winter-summer pattern, with air
conditioning and heaters playing an

Strategy for a stable IAXy
I've heard comments about the instability of the IAXy (loosing IP, locking
up, etc) . I want to deploy some, in a remote site. The comments on the
instability suggest that the simplest approach is to power-cycle them when
you have problems. The IAXy would only be in use from 3PM to 8 PM. My
potential simple solution is to have a timed power brick (like what you
would use for a block heater)

using asterisk on a shared line
Can Asterisk be configured to hang up if another phone picks up?
I'm a bit lost as far as terminology goes, but here's my setup. At
home, I have asterisk answering calls from the pstn and sending them
through to a sip extension or voicemail. All that is working fine.
The box running Asterisk isn't on 24/7 so I have a secondary phone
connected to the line as well. If Asterisk is

Anyone using coreos?
I'd like to hear from anyone using coreos to run a container with tinc for
purpose of connecting containers. Sounds almost like a chicken/egg
problem:-)
I'm thinking of running a container with alpine linux and tinc installed there.
