ExtenSpy Problem
Hi
I'm trying to get ExtenSpy to work but it wont, I'm dialling a number
from my mobile which comes into our server and answering the number on a
particular SIP extension which all works fine. I'm then dialling an
exten from my own SIP extension which executes the ExtenSpy for the
correct extension but I hear nothing.
Here is the output in the CLI

Blind Transfer not working - 1.4.38
Hi
We've been running asterisk 1.4.17 (deb package) in a production
environment for some while now and are finally taken the plunge to
update to 1.4.38 (Ubuntu servers). All of this is using the RealTime
Architecture
I have upgraded the asterisk version in one of our test environments and
blind transferring seems to have suddenly stopped working. It was
working fine under 1.4.17
So, call

rsync 2.5.5 segmentation fault on Linux x86.
Hi all.
I have a script which I call from cron. It basically does some stopping
of a few services, rsyncs all files to a remote server and then starts
the services again. However, rsync segfaults:
/share/bin/cron.root.backup.sh: line 28: 18453 Segmentation fault rsync -acx --delete ${_backup_dirs} backup-server::backup-client
If I run rsync from the command-line everything works as

rsync: connection unexpectedly closed; reverse lookups?
Hi.
My goal is to use rsync to syncronize box1 and box2. On box2, I have a
tapedrive which I write the data I syncronize from box1 every night.
On box1, my /etc/rsyncd.conf looks like this:
root@box1# cat /etc/rsyncd.conf
max connections = 1
syslog facility = local6
[tmp]
path = /tmp

smb_errno: class ERRDOS, code 112 from command 0xb
Hi.
We run Samba 2.2.1a in production and it seems to be working fine. We
run it on RedHat 7.2, kernel 2.4.7-10smp. All of a sudden (I'm sure
it's for a reason, but I can't tell why), this shows up in the logs:

using metafor for meta-analysis of before-after studies
Hello, Dr. Viechtbauer.
I am trying to perform a meta-analyis on a group of before-after studies using Metafor. I read your webpage including your correspondence with Dr. Dewey (https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2012-April/308946.html), who also conducted a similar study. These information is very hepful, but I have one additonal question which I wonder if you can give me some instruction.

Detecting fax without Aswer()ing the call first?
Trying to make the fax detection work. My current setup (with no fax) is done
without Answer(), so the call is answered only when someone actually picks-up
the phone. But when the incoming call is fax, I can her the tone and call is
never forwarded to "Fax" extension.
But... Strange thing happens when I (mistakenly) put a call on hold:

Samba + OpenLDAP + ACL patch on Linux 2.4.18 problems.
Hi, all.
I compiled Samba 2.2.5 (on Linux) with these optinos:
--with-smbmount --with-acl-support --with-ldapsam
The compilation went fine and everything seems to be working except for
the ACL part.
I've applied the ACL patch for Linux 2.4.18 (from acl.bestbits.at) and
installed all the tools to go with it. That part works:
root@madrid# getfacl /tmp

Winbind cannot find/connect to PDC.

Funny thing happend: I had winbindd working, but now I can't get it back
up correctly. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently.

'wbinfo -u' says "Error looking up domain users". I joined the domain
with the command: 'smbpasswd -j OUR_DOMAIN -r thepdc -U Administrator'
and this returned saying "Joined domain

Construction of Dataset for time varying COXPH analysis
Question: When survfit() function is used upon a coxph object, the 'n' returned is vastly smaller (n=6) than the number of distinct loans in the dataset used.
I am trying to estimate a Cox proportional hazards model for a set of loans (over 6000) using using time varying covariates. For this 6000+ loans, I have some 62,000 different vectors representing the loans at different periods of

How to display numbers or word graphically?
Some blog sites and others (ticketmaster, for example) require you to
read a graphical representation of a word or number to prevent a form
from being submitted programmatically.
I''d like to do something similar on a new site I''m building.
Two quick questions:
1. Is there a standard term for these graphical representations? i.e.
how would I do a google search for this

there is something wrong with (since that person indicates being able to
"add the domain user "aps" to the file's ACL from a WinXP box" - I can't
add or remove anything). And here is my question - after a long
explanation - what's wrong with my config that makes Samba not honor the
ACLs? Or, have I gone wrong somewhere else?
I include here my smb.conf:

ntlm_auth to AD with only ntlmv2 enabled failing
Hello,
We have samba 3.0.23 installed. We are using free radius to take
authentication requests from a nortel vpn server and using ntlm_auth
trying to authenticate users against AD.
This setup works fine when on the AD side ntlmv1 and ntlmv2 are enabled.
(IE. Users can authenticate).
However, when only ntlmv2 is enabled users are unable to authenticate.
I have searched various places and while

OT: Feedback Request: HP Laserjet MFD M3027x and Laserjet 2840 on Linux?
Hello all
Sorry for posting my query here, but did not have any success in getting
feedback from linuxprinting.org/ openprinting.org forums.
Planning to buy a new colour MFD or a Mono MFD & a Colour printer, for

Winbind traffic not encrypted
A problem here getting winbind traffic to be encrypted using Kerberos.
I have set up a test environment with a pair of servers (actually lxc
containers):
- samba server (ubuntu 16.04, stock samba 4.3.11)
- client machine (ubuntu 16.04) joined with "net ads join" and winbind
The client machine has the following in /etc/samba/smb.conf:

Migrating NT files (with users/groups) to Linux Samba with ACL kernel patch.
Whoa. Long subject - still, it basically says it all:
I have an NT PDC and an NT fileserver. I've also got a Linux box
compiled with the ACL patches from acl.bestbits.at and I've got Samba
2.2.5 (--with-acl-support) configured to be a PDC on that box. I've put
all my machines and users in LDAP and the Linux box' PAM configuration
is also told to look for passwords/users in
