meetme + jitter buffer
Hi,
I was wondering if there's any sense in increasing audiobuffer above the minimal '2' in meetme, if every channel is already dejittered before (Local/.../nj - as described at: http://www.russellbryant.net/blog/2007/10/09/asterisk-jitterbuffer-support-for-applications/)
Will it help in anything, or just increase delay?
Thanks,

g729 codec for asterisk-1.6.0?
List,
Anybody have success with Digium's G729 codec and asterisk 1.6.0?
Reading http://www.russellbryant.net/blog/index.php/2008/03/05/codec_g729-v34-builds-now-available/
is seems they are build for 1.6 and trunk. But all I could find / use
is 1.4 builds from

Thoughts?

Explain what asterisk.conf's "internal timing" option is
Hello,
I've read in Mantis that asterisk.conf's "internal timing" option could
positively impact Asterisk behaviour during faxing (
http://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=16374).
Before using it, I would be very pleased to read a line or two about its
use.
I've read
http://www.russellbryant.net/blog/2008/06/16/asterisk-16-now-with-a-new-timing-api/but

regex -> negate a word
Dear all,
let's assume I have a vector of character strings:
x <- c("abcdef", "defabc", "qwerty")
What I would like to find is the following: all elements where the word
'abc' does not appear (i.e. 3 in this case of 'x').
Since I am not really experienced with regular expressions, I started
slowly and thought I find all word were

Please expose predicates to MachineVerifier
Could we expose predicates defined in the target InstrInfo.td file to the MachineVerifier? We use BuildMI() to create many instructions after ISEL, but the predicates are not being checked at this point. Thus, I could forget to check the target and build an instruction that is illegal for a specific configuration. In such a case it would be nice if the MachineVerifier could detect this for me.

Jitter buffer not used in SIP -> chan_local -> ZAP path even with /nj for local channels
Hi,
Asterisk 1.4
Working (jitter buffers created as expected):
ZAP -> SIP
SIP -> ZAP
Not working (no jitter buffers created):
SIP -> chan_local (with /nj) -> ZAP
SIP -> chan_local (with /j) -> ZAP
SIP -> chan_local (with no flags) -> ZAP
I have this in zapata.conf:
jbenable=yes
jbforce=no
jbimpl=fixed
jbmaxsize=300
Is there something I haven't tried that will make

converting a character vector to a function's input
Hi all, I have been trying to solve this problem and have had no luck so far.
I have numeric vectors VAR1, VAR2, and VAR3 which I am trying to cbind. I also have a character vector "VAR1,VAR2,VAR3". How do I manipulate this character vector such that I can input a transformed version of the character vector into cbind and have it recognize that I'm trying to refer to my numeric

master-user = slave_user
master-password = qwerty
master-connect-retry = 60

Help with interpolation
Hi,
I have a two Colum matrix ( I named it holder) as shown bellow. It seems
to be three columns, but the first column contains the row names.
I am trying to fill all NAs by linear interpolation the known values in
the matrix. I tried using the interpNA function, but I get an error
message:
> interpNA(holder, method = "linear")
Error in approx(idx, x[idx], 1:n, method = method, f

This looks interesting to tie into asterisk's jb and plc code as well.

Form -> File save tutorial
I want to develop a web application that allows a user to input data into a set of forms and then save that data in an XML file format to their hard drive. Can anybody point me to a Ruby\Rails tutorial that would help?
Thanks,
Bill

Different Dial tones for internal and external.
On systems even key systems it is customary to have an 'internal' dial
tone.
Since Asterisk simply ignores the 9 and keeps the tone going it is hard
to tell for some 'new users' if they can make a call.
My first idea was to change the generated dial tone via source. Then if
the user presses 9 go to a different context where I would record about
30 seconds of the normal dial

Syslinux keyboard mappings
Hi,
I finally want to end the fights we have had in the past with keyboard
mappings. I already curse the person who is responsible for this keyboard
mess (and even more the persons who could have create a 'detect keyboard'
kind of functionality in modern PCs :))
But the general problem is this, BIOSes are US qwerty, Belgium uses
be-latin1 (azerty with lots of custom keys). And to

Using the PBX Directory from a Blackberry
Hi All,
A couple of customers called complaining that folks were dialing into
their PBX trying to use the Directory to locate users, from a
Blackberry, and getting frustrated due to the incompatibility of
dialing alpha characters on the the qwerty keyboard and not getting
through.
The issue of course is the Directory application only recognizes
numeric digit tones, not alpha characters (not sure

Samba docs
Hi, especially John H. T :)
I'm yet again plodding through chapter 14 of the
Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf. Not because I can't make what's in it work
for me, I did that long ago, I found out for myself, because a great
deal of what's in it is wrong. I just got fed up with trying to get
Nagios to work - I gave up, for various reasons and started on the Samba
doco.
