SIP tunnel
Hello, I have the following situation: A firewall is blocking all SIP and RTP traffic in the side of some of my clients. My clients cannot change settings of the firewall. I need to solve this problem and I need some help from you. I have this idea: implement a SIP user agent which does not use well known SIP ports (uses http port 80 for example) and use other ports that are not blocked

Calculating R Factor and MOS metrics for VoIP
Hello All, MOS and R factor are the two QoS parameters used to estimate VoIP call quality. I have found that they are calculated from other metrics like jitter, latency, packet loss,...etc. But, haven't found any formula or arithmetic rule to calculate them. Do you have an idea about their formulas or an open source that calculates them. Is it possible to interpret them from wireshark.

WiFi SIP phone w/VPN?
Hi, all. My subject line says it all: is there a WiFi SIP phone with VPN abilities? Failing that, a WiFi phone that runs Linux? I already know one phone that does meet my requirements -- the iPhone. The new software comes with a Cisco VPN client, and a SIP client can be had from third-party vendors for jailbroken phones. And, while I'm not averse to the idea, a) it ain't cheap, and b)

OpenVPN on phones?
It's just come to my attention that newer phones from both Snom and Grandstream support OpenVPN. Is this a new trend or something? Since OpenVPN, in one swell foop, deals with both NAT issues and securing communications, I'd be very interested in hearing if other phone vendors were embracing OpenVPN as well. (Other VPN solutions are all well and good, but I really like the flexibility

openvpn
I have a workgroup server with samba operating well and have configured openvpn on it. That also seems to be working well. I also have other servers at different locations with samba/openvpn working. To access the openvpn server I use Windows and manually map a drive to a drive letter using U: as \\servername\sharename The shares work but I am mapping _through_ the samba server - that is I have

QoS & VPN
I've got multiple satellite office all linked back to the main office via VPN. Each office has their own asterisk server which registers back to the main office's Asterisk server. Each office also has a 1Mb downstream / 384k - 768k upstream connection. The branches are using Speex for their connections back to the main office. The issue I'm having is that there are times that

How to list openvpn clients?
I'm running an openvpn server on a CentOS machine - that is my excuse for posting my query here - and I'm wondering if there is some way of finding all the clients (not just those connected at this moment) who have been registered as clients of the openvpn server? -- Timothy Murphy e-mail: gayleard /at/ eircom.net School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland

interactions between xen and openvpn
Hi all, first time that i tried to use xen. My goal is to reach in ssh all the domUs after i manage to get a connection through openvpn. Like they were real servers. I installed the openvpn server on my dom0 (ubuntu 9.04 + default package + latest debian-xen-amd64 kernel) After connecting to the openvpn server I''m able to do direct ssh just to the dom0. For reaching domU i had do it with

Xen and OpenVPN
Hi, I have some problems with my OpenVPN server in a Xen DomU. OpenVPN works fantastic but theres a problem connecting other DomUs on this server. I have the following iptable rule to forward the requests to the internet. iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -s 10.8.0.0/24 -j MASQUERADE This works fine. I can connect to other DomUs on the same server but they can''t answer the

iptables mark + openvpn will the mark survive ?
Greetings, I want to setup bandwidth restrictions for a few clients that use openvpn to connect to my server. I''m using iptables to mark the packets in the mangle table (PRE/POSTROUTING) on eth0 before they get sent via the tunnel. Will the mark survive even if the packets then get routed via an openvpn tunnel (tunX) out the box or does openvpn change it removing the mark ? damnit,

odd issue with the with SIP over VPN
I've run into a odd issue where inbound calls to the SIP client work fine, but outbound from the SIP client do not. The path between the client and the server is as below. N900 SIP client <-- OpenVPN --> Asterisk The version of Asterisk in question is 1.6.0.18. Any suggestions? -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... OpenVPN forwarding?
I am looking at terminating a OpenVPN tunnel on my shorewall box, but selectivly forward incoming traffic from the VPN tunnel to various hosts on my LOC-zone. Is this doable? Or need I set up OpenVPN tunnels that terminates on the LOC-hosts in question directly? (Or rather: Which page on the web site have I neglected to read _this_ time?) Happy new year to one and all! .

asterisk and openvpn and sip
Hi all, I'm trying to connect one phone to a remote asterisk server via openvpn. First of all, I put the vpn server on the box hosting asterisk and the vpn client on another box, both with public ips. Then I set the client ip as my phone IP gateway and the remote pbx ip as the registrar and outbound proxy. I see in the phone log register packets are sent but nothing in return. Asterisk

Bridges, ebtables and OpenVPN [non member]
Hi all, I''m trying to use OpenVPN as a VPN solution on a firewall running Shorewall. The IPSEC VPN I tried first has shown a little bit unstable under several conditions, especially with Windows clients. As OpenVPN is best run in ''bridged'' mode (see http://fedoranews.org/contributors/florin_andrei/openvpn/), I became interested in the bridge capabilities of

openvpn client and KDE Network Manager - with CentOS7
Hi All, I am switching from Fedora20 to CentOS7 since I now run all my Linux development in a VM and I get a more robust feature set (i.e. shared folders with the host that "just work", etc) The only issue I have thus far is VPN connections. Looking at what's installed on my old Fedora install I suspect I need these packages: kde-plasma-nm-vpnc kde-plasma-nm-openvpn

OpenVPN + SIP configuration?
Hello I read a whole book on OpenVPN, but still can't figure how to configure the server + client so that the the client connects and sends SIP/RTP data through the tunnel. To get started, I'd rather use a shared key instead of X509 (certificates + keys). The server is running on a uClinux appliance, with /dev/net/tun, and OpenVPN is 2.0.9. The clients will be Windows hosts connecting
