hi, I'm been successful in making calls to another local extension using Nokia E71. However calling the E71 from another ext. (X-lite) is not successful. There is a ringing tone from the caller side but the E71 is silent. Tried disabling the NAT (dunno whether that helps). I can get a single handset working, but when I try to create a SIP profile on the second phone, it won't allow me to save the profile, saying that devices in the same "realm" must have identical username and password. I have an asterisk server at home. I'm looking to replace my internal phones with sip cordless (DECT) phones. I'm now looking at the Siemens A510IP base ($90 ) and A510H handset ($40) and the Grandview DP715 base ($80) and DP710 handset ($45). A little more thought into helping troubleshooting maybe take an ls -l and a properties screen shot in the middle of editing a file. It could be some setting in notepad++ that is interfering with itself. If your file is unchanged and the modified time is unchange in both ls -l and the Windows file browser and notepad++ saw a change then the problem is with notepad++ not in samba or linux. Hi guys, Has anyone had any luck with getting the Cisco IP Communicator working with your Asterisk or primarily, Trixbox installation? I've tried searching the net for information, and found someone said to set it up like the 7970 hard phone, which I have, and I'm just running into the problems with it saying "Error Verifying Config Info". Hey folks, I am trying to get an E65 to connect to asterisk, and I would really appreciate a second set of eyes. The SIP dialog completes fine, but the phone subsequently says "Registration failed". I am in a network that has what seems to be a SIP-capable NAT gateway, but the asterisk is configured nat=yes anyway. Using a softphone (twinkle), I can connect just fine, SIP and RTP work.

Using an Asterisk system running 1.2 with Aastra phones. Would be a cause of static for inbound/outbound and ext to ext calls? Its voip both in and out. We swapped, phones, cordes, switches etc?.. Typically a reboot of the phone resolves the problem?person also swears there is nothing on or near their desk to cause interference (microwave, cell phone is purse). Strange?? Thanks
