Re: Stratosphere - Conquest of the Skies game blacks out screen.
Has there been any update for this issue in Wine since I posted the terminal messages? I'm not using CrossOver support such as hadj, so my issue should still be valid.
Best regards.

Re: Stratosphere - Conquest of the Skies game blacks out screen.
Funny, I searched for "cannot find a d3d device fullscreen mode" and this post came up, addressing EXACTLY the game I'm trying to play.
I thought that this D3D stuff was supported by wine (I'm using crossover, for Mac).
Is there any information about how to make the fullscreen issue go away so I can play Stratosphere! I bought an old copy from Amazon, so it shouldn't be a

Re: Stratosphere - Conquest of the Skies game blacks out screen.
The installation trouble I had with Wine 1.3.28 is not part of this issue. Please keep to the problem at hand. I've supplied the terminal log from 1.3.26. If this is not sufficient then we will have to continue this when 1.3.28 merges into the PPA repository.

Stratosphere - Conquest of the Skies game blacks out screen.
Stratosphere is an old game for Windows 95-98. When played in Wine it will act like it's starting up, then completely blank out the primary screen. The secondary screen will stay open and I can press Ctrl-Alt-F1 and kill the Stratos.exe task, which recovers the screen.
I also attempted to run it in compatibility mode with Windows XP and Vista, but the mouse is very sensitive in the game,

what is faster: wine20041019 or 0.9
I have an old Pentium 233 MHz with 256 MB RAM that has Debian and
wine20041019 installed. As this machine runs "not so fast" I'm not sure
if I should upgrade to 0.9.
If one of you could tell me that 0.9 runs a little bit faster than
20041019 this would ease my decision. ;-)

Figuring out name of Kerberos server?
Hi!
I'm on a conquest to get Samba 3.0 to authenticate against an Active
Directory. For this, I need to have Kerberos working. However, I don't
know the name of our Kerberos server.
If I've got a Windows machine which is part of the Active Directory, can
I somehow get it to tell me the name of the Kerberos server?
Or could I use a packet sniffer to get the name of the server?

AW: tty login vs Gnome screen lock
Which Keyboard-Layout do you use ?
Maybe that's the trick...
Well, i use Germay Keyboard Layout,
but when the Screen lock is coming up
The "z" and "y" is swapped
(qwertz vs. querty). Try logging in
Using us-keyboard-Layout.
Just my 2 cents...

[LLVMdev] Want something to laugh about?
Hi!
This is really off-topic but you must know it:
In Germay you have to pay for radio and television not if you use it
but if you have the _possibility_ to use it. Since there is web radio
and things like youtube you have to pay if you have a pc/mac whatever,
but not to the service providers but to the almost govermental radio/tv
stations, which makes them the richest in the world.

Resync dovecot index after manual moving mails in maildir
Hello,
i'm new to dovecot and this list. Dovecot works very well after all! I
now have a small problem, maybe there is a solution.
For automatically spam learning i've created a maildir folder called
"spam learn". Every hour spamassassin scans this folder and learn from
the mails or files at this folder. After this learn i move the files to
trash. If at this moment a client

Reconstruct array dataset
Hi there
I have an interesting problem:
My csv file is of array dimensions [12,50], but it was saved the wrong way: there should be only 11 colums. What happens now if I read it into R is that the whole data set is shifted ( in the first row, the last column contains already the first value of the supposed second row and so on...)
how can I tell R to switch after 11 read values to the next row,

Re: [1.2]StarCraft 2 - Very Slow On Good Computer?
Why is this notable? For one thing(Buy WOW Gold (http://www.zyy.com/)), world PVP is going to be a whole lot of fun in Vashj'ir. It'll be tricky, and you'll need to watch not just your back or what's up top, but also what's below. It's interesting(Buy WOW Gold (http://www.shinywowgold.com/)), too, because I think there's a huge potential for the (RuneScape Gold

Hello list,
I have trouble with a smb configuration that worked fine before I upgraded my samba to the latest stable release.
I used samba 3.0.23c (Slackware11) and now I'm using samba 3.0.25b (Slackware12).
The error/failure looks like this:
I'm trying to connect to my HOME service and I fail. The log produces only this:
