PRI protocol question...
I'm having difficulty getting a PRI working between asterisk and a Merlin
Legend. I have been attempting to get it going as esf, b8zs & 5ess (although
I have tried other switchtypes...). I found the following info in the Legend
docs:
If the switch type is 5ESS, the protocol MUST be set for ATT Custom.
If switch type is DMS-100, the protocol MUST be set for NTNAPRI

Outgoing CallerID on PRI problems
For outgoing calls made on our PRI circuit we are setting the Caller ID
using the format
Exten => _9XXXXXXX,1,SetCallerID(1601XXXXXXX)
The monitor shows that the CallerID is being set to the specified
number, but yet when the call is received on the user end the ID is
always the base number of our DID. For example we have 8600-8650 as
DID's but the callerid is always 8600 regardless of

Display Name
I have an NI2 PRI connection to a 5ESS switch. I am explicitly told to
use NI2 as the protocol, not 5ESS.
I am running Asterisk 1.2.4.
When making calls to the PSTN, Asterisk sends the calling name as part
of the display information element in the SETUP message. I need to be
able to send the calling name as part of the facility information
element in the SETUP message. I've seen that work

Callerid via PRI
When receiving multiple calling numbers via a PRI for a call setup, I
cannot find the ability to select between either first or last. Is
there a way to do this currently? If not, can anyone help me in getting
this to work? Here is the dump of the PRI in intensive debugging.
Please note that I want the first calling number, not the last. Any
help would be much appreciated. Below the PRI trace

PRI to PRI not passing callerid
I must be doing something stupid, but I can't figure it out.
I have three PRI lines connected to Asterisk, one from the phone
company, and two more connected to PBXs. Asterisk uses the incoming DID
information to decide which PBX to route the call to. Should be simple.
Asterisk is clearly getting the caller id info from the phone company:

ISDN PRI "calling number" for outgoing calls
hi!
I have a question of ISDN PRI "calling number" setting for outgoing call. I
need the receiver to see the CLI that I have set. Eventough I've set the CLI
as below, the receiver keep on getting a fixed number( used with the PRI to
receive incoming calls). My ISDN PRI E1 provider says he has not done any
restricions on the custom CLI side.

Re-write callerid?
Is it possible to rewrite caller id's?
I would like to have sip phones appear by their local cid
(like Henk <208>) but when they call out using the PRI I would like their
full DID (MSN) to appear (like 0031201234567)
I could ofcourse set callerid to the main phonenumber but surely there
must be a better solution?
Thanks!!

Can anybody recommend a good T1/PRI provider ?
Are you looking for local or Long distance? What will these T1s primarily be
used for(inbound/outbound, domestic, local, long distance, international)
How important are per minute rates to you? how many minutes do you expect to
use per month?
We are in Tampa Florida and have 15 T1s from several different providers so
I may be able to refer you to one if it's a match to what you're

outgoing calls with packet8 and dta310 problems
I'm trying to get asterisk working w/ packet8 (incoming and outgoing)
and a dta310 so I can have more control over voicemail. I've looked
at the data stream coming from the dta310 and from packet8, but I
haven't managed to get the phone to actually place invites through
asterisk. On the asterisk end with chan_oss.so, I can make it dial
and I hear ringing and the first second of

Realtime static with Asterisk 1.6.1.6
I just upgraded from 1.6.0.14 to 1.6.1.6 and now my realtime static
configuration for extensions.conf will not load. All other realtime
configs work (SIP, IAX2, Voicemail). I cannot find any reference or
documentation about the structure of the realtime static database for
1.6.1.x but I have used the same table structure since 1.4.x.

Outgoing CallerID w. DAHDI on ISDN BRI
Hi List,
i've set up an Asterisk 1.6.0.3 Server equipped with an Xorcom Astribank BRI
XR0013 (2 Port BRI) and Dahdi 2.1.0. In- and outgoing calls are no problem. But
I can't get Asterisk/DAHDI to use the second Number of the BRI. All calls set
the primary number as callerid. It wouldn't be a problem, if we would use this
one as id for our company, but it's already in use (private).

Outgoing CallerID for KPN in Belgium
Hi,
I'm using a ISDN-30 E1 line from KPN Belgium.
The challenge is to get a correct CallerID on outgoing lines.
When I put this in my dialplan:

exten => _0.,2,Set(CALLERID(num)=144622${TEMPVAR})
exten => _0.,3,NoOp(${CALLERID(num)})
exten => _0.,4,Dial(Zap/g1/${EXTEN:1},,)
The resulting CallerID is accepted by the telco, but on

outgoing callerid string
Is there a way for me to set my outgoing callerid string so that all
callers outside of my pbx see our callerid string as company name main
company number but callers inside our telephone network see extension
holders name extension number? In looking at the references it looks like
I can do one or the other but not both. Does anyone know how I might
accomplish this?
