Wine fonts
Today I've upgraded wine to wine-20050930. I know this version has no config file and I must use winecfg and regedit instead. But I have a question. How to specify [FontsDir]? I can not see cyrillic fonts. Thanks, Kryol

Desperate: problems with fonts, I can not make it work
I am trying to make wine run with a couple of windows applications and there is no way I can get normal fonts. All I get is little squares instead. I have set up a directory /home/username/.wine/fake_windows/Fonts that has quite a few .ttf files that I got from my Windows98 partition. I have also set up chkfontpath to the right path (please see attached files). Then what can be wrong? I

Problems with fonts on linux using GDD
Hi Apologies for this question. I have read the help for GDD and font mapping, and it tells me that the config file, /usr/lib/R/library/GDD/fonts/basefont.mapping is responsible for mapping fonts to the GDD library. However: > .GDD.font() [1] "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/l048013t.afm" [2] "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/l048016t.afm" [3]

installing Windows ttf fonts.
I am on Ubuntu Intrepid. I read in the Wine User's guide: > Font configuration, once a nasty problem, is now much simpler. If you have a collection of TrueType fonts in Windows it?s simply a matter of copying the .ttf files into c:\windows\fonts. > Just so I understand correctly: I can simply copy and paste (using Nautilus) the .ttf files from Windows Vista partition, in

cyrillic font in Transparent LanguageNow! Russian
I have gotten the Learn Russian Now! by Transparent to work OK. The movies and audio play just fine, but the cyrillic font is showing bad ASCII characters. I have cyrillic installed and working for other apps, but not for this one. I am not that familiar with wine or wine.conf. Is there something that I should be looking for to enable the font support for cyrillic in these programs? I'm

Locating .tff or .fon file for fonts in C:\Windows\Font
Normally each font has entry in the registry under HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Fonts whereby the registry Name is the font name and the registry Data value is the filename of the font (for example courier.ttf). In my app I use the facename from the LOGFONT structure and the above registry entries to determine the associated ttf file. When I add a font to the

Better fonts in wine?
I'm using wine 0.9.7 from the extras repository on Fedora Core 4. I've installed a windows program using wine. The program works very well; however, the fonts it uses are ugly and difficult to read. The rest of my system (KDE) uses smooth, beautiful, anti-aliased fonts, and this windows program is the only exception. I read the FAQ on the wine homepage, and it says to copy the

windows/fonts files interference (bug?)
Hello. I'm running wine-1.3.12 on Fedora 14 and I found out that, since the last update, wine has issues when additional .ttf files are put in windows/fonts directory - wine picks them as a default font for GUI rendering. I tried putting in/out several different ttf files, and the results were mixed. Sometimes the font was picked. Sometimes ignored. And sometimes it caused wine to miss the

Help with fonts
I recently changed to a new computer and reinstalled linux. I'm not happy with the current fonts and I see that the whole fonts area has been revamped, so any old notes I have are obsolete. Can anyone help me out? The first and major issue is that when an installation program I am running tries to display "C:\Program Files" it comes out looking like CWProgram Files. Having
