Winlink Airmail Help
Hello All. I was running Winlink Airmail fine for several months. Somewhere between up grading Wine and Xubuntu I lost the ability to see what I was typing when writing a new e-mail. The text is there but it cannot be seen. If I miss spell and use the spell checker it will appear. When the spell checker is finished the printing disappears again. This is a built-in spell checker in Airmail.

Installing wine rpm - failed dependencies??
I am running SuSE 8.0 (waiting for 9.2). I have a windows application I wanted to run using wine. It ran fairly well then locked up on the old wine release that came with SuSE 8.0. Thought I should get the latest wine so downloaded the current wine for Suse 8.0 from winehq.com. I first ran Yast and removed the presently installed wine. I put the new rpm in /root and logged in as root then

Sharp ZQ-290s sync software
Hi, Since Sharps communication protocols are "top secret", I'm trying to port their sync software to linux. I'm new to wine, so this might be silly, but after hours of googling and searching for solutions I'm posting this. After installing DCOM98.exe, the Desktop software installed, and it runs. Only problem is it doesn't detect the device connected to the serial port

Problem: No Serial ports present
Hi, I have wine without Windows instalation and would like to use my HP Coolpix camera unload software. After installation I allowed direct read/write to COM ports in wine.conf, but the program complains there are no COM ports at all. If I run wine --debugmsg +file +relay, I get something like wine works with COM2 (COM1 is mouse) and missing wineoss.drv, MFC42LOC.DLL and reg.dat. How can I

Serial Port Access Under Wine
I have asked this before, but has anyone successfully used serial port /dev/ttyS0 under wine? I am trying to run a windows program for controlling an amateur radio - a 'tentec pegasus'. My linux is a debian derivative ... sidux ... and I have installed wine from the sid repositories. The program runs ... and displays a radio dial which looks correct. However, because I cannot

Serial Console Not Connecting to Dom0 on Ubuntu Server 12 Running Xen 4.1.3
Xen-users, I have what I think is a bug in the serial console interaction of Xen and Ubuntu. Essentially, the serial console appears to work just fine until it is passed off to dom 0 from Xen. Then it stops communicating with dom0, but still communicates with Xen, if I use the control-A escape sequence. Google will not show me anything related to this. I have local RS-232 serial console working

COPILOT Glucose Meter COM problem
I am a 62 year old beginner in Ubuntu. Thanks for any help, guidance, suggestions on this problem! I have used commands like the following to be certain that I have an active com port: dmesg | grep ttyS rm com1 ln -s /dev/ttyS0 com1 So I suspect the solution lies somewhere in WINE. If all else fails I will get a USB to SERIAL converter cable and try that. My wife has an Abbott Labs Freestyle

USB and serial
Hello, everyone - I have an old Windows app - a ship navigation program - that needs to see GPS input on a serial port (it was written in the pre-USB days.) My laptop, however, has no serial ports - but this same program, when run on a friend's Windows box, can read the GPS info from the USB-connected GPS via the "USB-Serial Driver". This is one of the frustrating bits of this

wine-20010305 and serial port access
I'm trying to get the Windows-software for my digital camera to work in wine under Mandrake 8.0 (kernel 2.4.3). Installed wine without errors. Had a look at the ~/.wine/config and it looked ok for me. The part concerning the serial ports: [serialports] "Com1" = "/dev/ttyS0" "Com2" = "/dev/ttyS1" "Com3" = "/dev/ttyS2" "Com4"

COM: port problems
Unfortunately, almost all the Windows programs I want to run under Wine need to access the COM: ports, and I cannot get any of them to run. Typically, I get stuff like this ... fixme:comm:EscapeCommFunction16 no cid=0 found! fixme:comm:EscapeCommFunction16 no cid=0 found! err:comm:COMM16_ReadComplete async read failed 000003e3 fixme:comm:EscapeCommFunction16 no cid=3 found!

program fails to enumerate COM ports
Hi. LG PC Sync can work with ~/.wine/dosdevices/com1 but fails to enumerate com ports. I cannot select port other than COM1 and the combo box that would allow me to do that is blank. I did: # ln -s /dev/ttyACM0 ~/.wine/dosdevices/com5 # sudo chmod g+rw,o+rw /dev/ttyACM0 and added to registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM] "COM5"="COM5" env

Configuration after installation problem
I'm fairly new to wine. I'm running the version (Wine 20050211) that comes with SuSE 9.3. I had been using the version that came with SuSE 9.1 (Wine 20040213), and recently ran the SuSE 9.3 upgrade installation. Getting ready to try installing Word Perfect 8.0, I've been reading the help documents. I recollect a warning not to run wine as root. By mistake, I did so. When I did, it

More than 4 serial ports with wine.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Is it possible to run wine with more than 4 serial ports? Looking through the source I seem to see a hard limit of MAX_PORTS=9, I would like something more on the order of 36 serial ports. I need to run multiple apps with a multi-port serial board, and I am hoping to do it though wine. When I try to set a com port of COM6 in my .wine/config file I get

can't get UPSDRV to see serial port
First, a little history; nut has been working on this system for about two years. It was a Fedora Core 2 (3?) system that I wiped and installed SUSE 10.1 on so I'm fairly confident of the hardware. I thought I'd saved the nut configuration details before I did the reinstall, but can't find them. (D'oh!) The UPS is an APC BackUPS Pro 420. The cable is a clone of the APC

[LLVMdev] [lld] consolidating the usage of saving references
Hi, It looks like each flavor chooses to save references in its own way. The GNU flavor (ELF) uses a single vector of references and uses referenceStartIndex/referenceEndIndex to point to the references for each DefinedAtom. Darwin(Mach-O) / WinLink (PECOFF) uses a different way of storing references ? Is there a plan to make the WinLink/Darwin(Mach-O) use a single vector of references too
