Problems with booting Debian DomU
I''m running Xen 3.2 on Debian 5.0 (Lenny) and am having trouble booting up a Debian Etch DomU. It hangs at the end when it says "Starting periodic command scheduler: cron."
It''s just completely frozen. At one point I set it sit for a few hours and got back into the console and it said something about "time went backwards" but I used the

lpxelinux.0 does not set the port number in the http Host: header
Hello all,
I think I may have found a bug with the way lpxelinux.0 sends http
requests. Specifically when I trace the requests I notice that the
Host: header does not contain the port that was used to make the
request.
Here's my scenario. I have a python Flask app that dynamically
generates the PXE menu for kickstarts. When I request a URL the
server responds with a file containing more

Samba4 AD and Zimbra LDAP server
Hi all,
I plan to upgrade Samba to be a AD server (using FreeBSD)
I also have a Zimbra mail server using internal LDAP (it is OpenLDAP
with a schema suitable for the mail server)
At the moment I bind a few other web applications (Redmine, a wiki
etc) to the Zimbra server for LDAP authorisation.
Of course, I would like to simplify user experience by using the same
user/password for the

RPM `requires` installation order
Hello All,
I'm a bit of newbie with rpm/yum, seeking the help from rpm/yum experts.
Suppose I have an RPM package A which depends on package B.
RPM A's spec has 'Requires:B' tag with 'autoprov' and 'autoreq' enabled.
When I install RPM A on a 'centos 6.5' machine with 'RPM version 4.8.0',
using the command `yum install A` :

Improvement of [dpq]wilcox functions
Hi,
I believe I have significantly improved [dpq]wilcox
functions by implementing Harding's algorithm:
Harding, E.F. (1984): An Efficient, Minimal-storage Procedure
for Calculating the Mann-Whitney U, Generalized U and Similar
Distributions, App. Statist., 33, 1-6
Results on my computer show (against R-2.9.1):

[LLVMdev] Source file information.
Hi,
I am new to LLVM, and need to find the line number and cpp source file name
for each instruction in a .bc file. I suppose llvm debugger might have that
feature but there is no documentation on it. Would you please give me some
help how to do it?
Thanks,

[LLVMdev] Source file information.
Thanks for your reply. Is it not possible to do with llvm-g++ -g?
and furthermore, where are SDNode and DebugLoc fields stored? are they in a
file which I have to parse myself? if so, is there any way that I use a
library to get the file/line information for each instruction? since, I am
writing a pass for opt tool that manipulates the callgraph and want to get
the line number information in

oggcat or other ways to combine theora videos (with or without re-encoding)?

first of all, i'd like to ask if there any crossplatform software/service ( gui is also better, an online application like firefogg is great, or at least a command line tools for any platform) to combine theora videos, other than oggcat...
i am doing some art projects that people should be able to remix featured theora videos and i find oggcat very usefull in theory but not in

Using a mobile phone via USB as an extension
I have had a search for this, but didn't come up with any results, so maybe I am
using the wrong terms, sorry if this is an FAQ.
For those who want to forward their incoming voice calls to a mobile, it could
be a cheaper option to call a mobile from another mobile on the same network.
This probably wouldn't be useful for users in USA, Canada or Hong Kong as costs
to call a mobile is

IMAP Voicemail - can't get messages. Arrgh!
Hi -
I just deployed a system using IMAP Voicemail. During my testing,
voicemail worked fine. I could check vm from the phone, and the
messages would get marked as read, or I could read the messages in a
mail client, and the phone's mwi light would turn off. Very neat.
I'm not exactly sure when things got munged up, but something broke.
I can record messages with Voicemail(), but now

Looking for recommendations for blocking hacking attempts
Hello:
I have been looking into projects that will automatically
restrict hacking attempts on my servers running CentOS 5.
I think the two top contenders are:
DenyHosts - http://denyhosts.sourceforge.net
Fail2ban - http://www.fail2ban.org
>From what I see, DenyHosts only blocks based on failed
SSH attempts whereas Fail2ban blocks failed attempts
for other access as well.
The main benefit

LDAP/Autofs instructions are conflicting in Centos5.3
Hi,
I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place, so if this belongs
more on another list, please let me know.
I am trying to get Autofs configured to use LDAP on CentOS5.3, but am
running
into an inconsitency. On CentOS5.3, the openldap server is installed with
an
extra schema/redhat/autofs.schema file. From what I can tell, that schema
file seems to follow RFC2307bis. In the
