Going to VM after 180 seconds in queue
Hello all,
This is a VICIDial server and I am looking to send calls to VM box
2100 after 3 minutes of sitting in the queue(via the VICIDial AGI).
This would be inserted between exten => s,8,Background(open) and exten

IAX problem through intermediate asterisk box
I'm having a problem with IAX running through an intermediate asterisk
box. Perhaps a small diagram will explain the situation better:

(private network)]----------- *C
Asterisk server's A, B, and C, are all connected together with IAX
All asterisk servers are 1.6.0.6
Server A and B are geographically close, but connected over

Thanks, this is what I was thinking about. Still, how do you get the BT
to dial 160?

Dual Asterisk Servers
Due to the unfortunate nature of Wikis, the section on voip-info.org
that deals with dual asterisk servers is full of pretty bad and
outdataed examples.
What I'm trying to do is distribute small asterisk boxes to remote
offices that have SIP clients connected inside the network, and ship any
outbound calls to a central asterisk server via IAX that is in turn
connected to the PSTN and

call from cisco router to asterisk gets auto attendant
Folks,
I have a NEC 2400 pbx(non-voip) behind a Cisco 3725, connected via
standard wic-t1 card. The NEC needs to call two different asterisk
servers with 4 digits. I have two way calling working with the one * box,
but the other is perplexing me.
Here's the layout

PBX 'Personalities' ?
We are running our * server as a virtual PBX for 6 companies. I am having
all of the Allison prompts plus our own custom IVR prompts being re-recorded
for each company, in a different voice (marketing thing) with a different
personality (perky, corporate, earthy) .
I'm curious if someone could point out a dirty trick to get the voice to
play right, for internal and external callers,

RE: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 20, Issue 184
Hi Joseph,
With iax servers dispersed across the internet, you could still use the
below setup, it would work but it's not as secure as you would want it.
I would then have a context for each server and use the IP address deny and
permit statements.
Also, you can have 1 server with a public IP and have the other servers
behind a NAT register to the public server. There are really several

Two asterisk servers, two different service providers
All:
I am looking to install another asterisk server in an office located in
a different part of the country.
I think I can configure the sip and extension conf files, so that the
internal phones at the two locations can call each other.
My question is this, how do I properly configure the sip file for a
different provider at the new location? Can I use a different register

AgentCallBacklogin (logout continued...)
Anyone know if
- it is possible to limit 1 agent per extension where
the last agent to log in overrides any previous agents
or
- a Command/application to clear all agents logged in
on extension
Does this look like it would require a custom mod to
do it?

Pardon me for asking this general question with regards to Samba but I've been searching and haven't found a source that would answer my question.
Is there some site, list, etc, that lists companies, schools, etc, who have volunteered information that they use Samba in their day-to-day operations?
This would be of great interest to us as it would show Linux/Samba to be a viable

idmap problems
Hai,
I still dont understand the fuss about "domain admins" and no GID because im running this for 3 years now.
So... Again what was the problem here, i dont remember it.. (sorry)
In my opinion, the problem is not "domain admins", the problem is Administrator.
And because if that you need an other "administrator user", that is a copy of Administrator its

Using MSDFS
I've set up a dfs share according to instructions. There is one part of the instructions that I don't understand. I've checked the forum archives but can't find any examples which might help.
In the Instructions section (4.1 of the HTML Samba Project Documentation), is shows how to set up the symbolic links in a DFS share, as shown below.
I have 2 Samba servers (SMB1 and SMB2).

Samba3 HowTo
For John Terpstra:
Just got your new book from Amazon. All I can say is: VERY GOOD!!! Can easily recommend it for anyone, especially those of us who just want to make better use of Samba but aren't Linux gurus/code commandoes!
I wouldn't begin to know how to contribute anything, but I'll certainly continue to buy and learn from such good material!
Thanks,

FreePBX: using context other than the default context and the generation for the configuration
Hi All;
If I set a context other than the default context, then I do not see a generation for a configuration in the extensions_additional.conf for this context, but always the generation for the configuration is for the default context (from-internal).
Normally, I have to put some Phones in a context and another Phones in a context, and give each context a privilages, but if I do this, then I

Dial Plan Logic Problem
Hi
I can't for the life of me work out why this is not
working. When in the campon contect if you hit a DTMF
key 2 you get moved to the exten => 2 defined in the
mainmenu context not the exten => 2 defined in the
campon context. What is wrong? The same happens if you
hit key 1.

CVS Head No ringing on calling end?
Tie line is type em_w (old school stuff) to TE110P. Phone rings on the
asterisk side, but the calling party does not hear the ring through
sound. If I pick it up within the first two rings it goes through and I
can talk otherwise our old switch drops the call.
Anyhow...here is my config if anyone can shed some light on it. It used
to work with HEAD a few weeks ago.

Predictive Dialers
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows how predictive dialers detect
voicemail and answering machines, and if they could explain to me how
that works.
Thanks!
