Patton SmartNode
Does anybody have any experience using a Patton SmartNode as a SIP/Telco gateway with Asterisk? They seem really inexpensive and appear to support all of the necessary features, but I don't have any experience with their products, so I don't know if they are any good. We are currently using a Cisco 2600 w/ PRI card and it works fine, but I was looking for someone else as a possible

Configuring Patton SmartNode with ISDN2e and Asterisk
Hello Does anyone have any experience with configuring BT (British Telecom) ISDN2e lines to work with Patton SmartNodes - and then Asterisk? I have a Patton SmartNode 4638, which is now connected to 3 x ISDN2e lines - and in turn connected to our internal LAN. I'm having huge issues configuring the SmartNode to successfully "see" the ISDN channels - and to be honest, I'm

Asterisk and Patton
Hi, we have and Asterisk server connected to a Patton Smartnode 4638 with 4 BRI. We configured 4 SIP account on Patton (1001, 1002, 1003, 1004). The system is fully functional, but we have a problem to recognize incoming calls from Asterisk: when a call come from SIP/1001 (BRI 1 on Patton) or SIP/1002 (BRI 2) or SIP/1003 (BRI 3) Asterisk record a call coming from SIP/1004. I have contacted Patton

Is it possible to use spandsp and patton to do fax2mail ?
Hi, I succesfully install spandsp chan_misdn and digium card. the rxfax works fine and I get the fax result by email. I would like to do the same using a Patton gw + zaptel but I can't receive fax anymore, the call comes in from ISDN in the Patton gw, patton sends it to asterisk, asterisk run a macro to make a tif file using rxfax, the tif file is correctly created but with a 0 size the call

Patton SmartNode Help
I have been given a Patton SmartNode 4114 and asked to get it working as POPS gateway for our asterisk box. The 4114 has 4 FXO ports. It's got firmware 3.21 on it. I currently have a single POPS line plugged into port 0. I can not seem to get the two to talk together. I am running asterisk 1.2.21.1. I am seeing the following repeatedly in * Jan 24 16:23:40 NOTICE[17063]: chan_sip.c:11291

pci cards VS patton
Hi all, I've been using telephone cards for 4-5 years and now I'm considering the Patton gateways. What are the pro and cons of Patton stuff compared to internal cards in a production system? Someone say external gateway are better because has no echo but have a longer delay when placing calls. Any suggestion appreciated. Thank you! Giorgio

B410P and Patton smartnode : any success ?
Hi, 1. Has someone met any success at all, connecting a Digium B410P to a Patton Smartnode 4638 (with latest 5.3 firmware) ? 2. If positive, then, which signalling was used on both sides ? My project's goal is use a Patton Smartnode 4638 to act as telco BRI lines, from a B410P-enabled asterisk box. In my testings, I can see channel is respectively up (with patton web server status page)

Patton 1400
I have a patton 1400 setup to handle the bri interface. As a trixbox user, I wanted a sip trunk rather than having to re-compile bri support into trixbix. Anyway, I have it working now so that asterisk can make calls and they are passed properly to the telephone network. Incoming calls however are another matter. I have (after turning on cli debug in the 1400) determined that its getting stuck

patton smartnode integration
Any have any success using a patton smartnode 4118/js/eiu fxs gateway with asterisk? We we're able to get the unit to register with asterisk, but when trying to place a call, no codec was compatible, even though I had all of the following enabled on the patton ... # G.711 A-Law/?-Law (64kbps) # G.726 (ADPCM 40, 32, 24, 16 kpbs) # G.723.1 (5.3 or 6.3 kbps) # G.729ab (8kbps) the link to this

Patton smartnode 463x (BRI) 25ms tail echo cancellation
Hi all We use pci/pci-e BRI cards in our installations. Due to echo problems (that was before Oslec and others), we quickly switched to cards with hardware-based EC. So we use exclusively Digium B410p cards that provide 64ms tail EC. For several reasons we'd like to switch to external BRI gateways like the Patton smartnodes (the price is getting really close to a B410p). I'm

Asterisk + Patton ISDN2e gateway (UK)
I know I asked this some time back, and I got no response then, and neither did someone who asked at the start of 2009 either by the looks of it (other than a reply from me to use a PCI card!!!) However I now have a client who'd bought one of these boxes and installed ISDN2e - against my advice (because I got no feedback here, therefore they're junk with asterisk, right?) However

ECHO Cancellation in SIP Calls
Hi, i am from Germany, so excuse my School English. I use Asteriks 1.2.12.1, zaptel 1.2.9 and mISDN Rc25 - since my update of Asterisk 2 wooks ago, Echos accure in my SIP Calls. I use SNOM 360, sometimes there is no echo (for example if i call myself via SIP->Asterisk->SIPProvider->TELEKOM->ISDN) but if i call other people there occures Echo many times. The Routing is always the

Patton 5.3. How to get incoming calls ?
Hi, I'm trying to configure a 4638 to pass inbound and outbound to and from ISDN and SIP interfaces. I'm using web interface at the moment. Setup is: ISDN -- <BRI> -- Patton 4638 -- <SIP> Asterisk -- <SIP> -- <IP Phone> I can call from IP phone but can't receive any incoming call : I can't see any SIP message coming in when a call comes in. Patton 5.3. How to get incoming calls ? [SOLVED]
Hi, Changing the line bellow helped to get incoming calls but I add to remove secret= option in sip.conf (otherwise, Patton wouldn't respond to 407 Auth required challenges). If someone could enable secret and still get incoming calls (in any SmartWare 5.X), please, do not hesitate to share here ... interface sip IF-ASTERISK bind context sip-gateway ASTERISK route call dest-table

OT - Patton - FXO - Reduce incoming call delay
Hi, I'm benchmarking the performance of a Patton Smartnode 411X gateway. My setup is : GSM phone <--PSTN--> SN411X <--SIP--> Asterisk <--SIP--> SIP phone My reference setup is: GSM phone <--PSTN--> analog phone In the first case, it takes roughly 10s from the moment GSM user hits Send button to the moment Asterisk gets the incoming call (or the SIP phone rings). Patton ISDN 2e boxes as media converters...
As subject really - anyone using a Patton ISDN2e box purely as a SIP to ISDN2e bridge, rather than use it's router, etc. functions? Just looking at options for an existing client who has a VoIP only box who's moved to a location with somewhat challenging broadband connectivity... (This is in the UK) Cheers, Gordon
