www.guitarport.com
Hello, school is over so I can get back to more serious things like fixing wine bugs. At some point someone asked for the software from http://www.guitarport.com/ to be fixed. I tried it today, and it installs and works. I haven't got the hardware it's supposed to work with, but if anyone is aware of bugs in this software that I can get to without any additional hardware, please let me

Wine on Cygwin
Hi, It's been some time since the question was asked: Does wine now compile on cygwin? I know there are some apps and games out there that just won't run under Win2k/XP anymore and for them a wine running under Win2k/Xp would be like the perfect solution. Has anyone infos on this? Thanks in advance Jeff

Upgrade 20040914.
Hello, I made a "wine" upgrade from 2003121 to 20040914. I then installed a program "EasyBridge" that worked perfect with the 2003121 version. The installation was without any problems, and at the end of the installation the program started automatically, also withouth problems. But when I later on recall the program with "wine EasyBridge.exe" I get the

"Selecting" a calculated row / Using :select in the paginate method
Hi, I was trying to use the :select parameter to select a calculated row, but it appears that the parameter is not picked up by the paginate method. I want to add the following to the select statement: timediff(now(), created_on) as age So I tried: @story_pages, @stories = paginate :stories, {:per_page => 10, :include => ''user'', :select =>

Partial matching performance in data frame rownames using [
Hi Hilmar and Ivan, I have used your code examples to write a blog post about this topic, which has figures that show the asymptotic time complexity of the various approaches, https://tdhock.github.io/blog/2023/df-partial-match/ The asymptotic complexity of partial matching appears to be quadratic O(N^2) whereas the other approaches are asymptotically faster: linear O(N) or log-linear O(N log N).

Chinese characters in the title
Dear experts, In my application, Chinese characters work great in the body of the page. However, in the title, they appear as boxes instead of something like " ???????? ". I also noticed CNET having the same issue: http://www.cnetnews.com.cn/news/net/story/0,3800050307,39438403,00.htm So my question to experts here is that is it possible to show Chinese
