problem in installing Internet Explorer6 with SP1 onCentos4.0 through Winetools
Hi Ankush,
The reason is very simple - you are booting into the CentOS SMP kernel which
is the default. Wine doesnt work properly with the smp kernel. Just boot
into the normal kernel (2.6.9-11.EL) and your problem will be solved.
Cheers!
Amit

[Fwd: Re: Execution of WineTools with Wine version 20041201 on RedHat 9]
Joachim, apologies again for bothering you,
but after I sent the email below, I managed to link Xdialog in /usr/bin
to /usr/local/Winetools to get Winetools to work (I'm still getting used
to the 'peculiarities' of linux!). I went through the Base Setup
procedure as advised, and it seemed to work 'mostly OK', but I think
there is a problem with my glibc as you advised - a

WineTools (2.1.0) + WINEPREFIX
Hi!
I have difficulties using WineTools 2.1.0 with WINEPREFIX set.
It does not matter whether use wineprefixcreate or not.
I want to start a new wine-Konfiguration from scratch:
export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine
wineprefixcreate (or not)

When I try "Create a fake windows drive", WineTools doesn't create one
although it said it did!

Installing winetools
When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that
winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download
mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that
winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com?
I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks.

ThunkConnect32 Failure!
Greetings,
I have tried to get IE5.5 & 6 running on
Wine under FreeBSD 5.3.
When I try to install DCOM98.EXE using
Joachim's WineTools, it asks me
"OK to install DCOM98 for Windows 98?" <Yes>
Then I get the "Please read the following license agreement..."
dialog <Yes>.
Then I get a "ThunkConnect32 Failure!" message.
Any idea why?

Installing dcom98 on wine 20050111 using winetools
Hi,
As suggested by Joachim, and after a fresh start using 20050111, I try
to use winetools to set wine configuration. As described on:
http://www.von-thadden.de/Joachim/WineTools/ I started the basic
installation in which I also went through the dcom98 installation but
got errors. First I got a wine window labeled "W95inf3.." stating
"ThunkConnect32 Failure!!" and on

Sony SonicStage
Hello there,
Santa went to me with a nice Sony "Hi-MD" and fortunatly the Company did
it right to retain my anger alive against all those dickheads:
Windows-only sw suite. Oh, yes ! i can still use it: audio recording
(thanks!) to leverage quality at best, and tracks and groups renaming by
hand on the MD itself using the jog-shuttle... soooo nice !
Well, to make the story short,

I want to use TTQV (a GPS-Program) with wine, but I won't run.
I am using Wine 20040914 under Debian (Sarge).
A short description what I did:
mkdir .wine
cp -r /usr/share/wine/skel/* ~/.wine

I inserted into ~/.wine/config:

Program worked in 20050930, not in 0.9.7
Hello
I have been trying to get WinMDI (a program for reading flow cytometry data
in windows) working under wine. WinMDI has an appdb entry of
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=2850 . I had the early versions
of this program working under wine 20050930 and 20050725.
I recently upgraded from 20050930 to 0.9.7 on my FreeBSD 6.0 box, and tried
to run the same version that worked under

CDROM access problem on FreeBSD
Lately I have been trying to get Warcraft II BNE to work on my FreeBSD
machine. I check the Application Database and Warcraft II BNE is
supposed to work fine under Wine.
I started out by updating my ports tree and installing Wine-20050524. I
could not get the installer to run under that version, so I installed
Wine-20041201.
Under 20041201 I was able to install the game, but the game

interpreting debug messages
Hi there
I'm in need of general information on
- how to interpret debug information
- how to tackle this systematically to improve my wine
configuration
A certain, very special application I presently try to convince to run under
wine, gives me the following messages:
wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0014), starting debugger...
WineDbg starting on pid 13
