Asterisk on IBM Netvista 2800 8364-EXX?
Hello I'm looking at my options to build a compact, silent, headless Asterisk server to handle one or two FXO ports. Out of curiosity, I got one of those babies on eBay for 20E: http://silicon-verl.de/home/flo/software/netstation-8364/ Before I spend time on this, can someone tell me if... 1. it's easy to install Linux on those things (am willing to add a CF-to-IDE adapter to use a

Is the X100P a WinModem?
So I've been on the Asterisk list for a long time. Mostly looking to set it up as a cheap alternative to a commercial MeetMe bridge, as a for-fun project. I keep noticing the Wildcard FXO X100P sorta seems like a Winmodem. Winmodems are basically a sound card chip tied to a pots port, where the Winders driver takes on the MO/DEM functions in software. I've always despised them as a data

[Zaptel] Why no driver for PCI voice modems?
Hello Considering how cheap PCI modems are compared to even the cheapest PCI hardware from Digium, OpenVox, Sangoma, etc.... I was wondering why Zaptel can't be used with those to connect an Asterisk server to a POTS line for low-level use? It just seems overkill for SOHO users who only get a few calls a day. Is it because those modems are usually Windows-specific, and it would be too

PCI modems
Hi all, I'm currently searching for a PCI modem that will be used to receive faxes. I've tried out a few modems but they all use conexant chipsets, which need out-of-tree kernel drivers and currently doesn't work here (kernel oops when the installation script modprobes the driver). Does anyone know of a PCI modem that works out of the box with in-tree kernel drivers? Thanks,

Digium cards just for timing
Hi, I've found that neither Michael Manousos patch nor ztdummy driver do not fix musiconhold sound interruption problem up to acceptable quality level. Sound is choppy here anyway. It is my understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong) that if I have a Digium card in my asterisk machine, these problems should be gone 'cause those cards provide some reliable timing. So I have no

softmodems bank for ast.
Hi. We need a full featured modem bank 20+ to attend data calls. IAXmodem only supports fax protocols because spandsp only support fax protocols. The idea is to do a IAX wrapper like IAXmodem but with a full featured (but propietary) softmodem library like PCTEL or linuxant. I hate astribank+hardmodems solution. Some body think that is possible? Sorry for my horrible English. ;) Bye.

Serial port DTMF Caller-ID reciever /w scripts for X100P/X101P/Clones....
Since the X100P/X101P/Clone cards does not work in all countries that use DTMF based Caller-ID systems, I've developed a hardware that you connect to a serial port and the PSTN. You then run a perl script "cid_logger.pl" as a daemon, and modify extensions.conf to call an agi script whenever a call comes in, and if it's on the X100 card it will get the caller id information

PLEASE REPLY, are you using an X101P
X101P with Ambient md3200 chip on it, with the zaptel wcfxo driver.... Just an indication of how many people have got this to work would be useful. Cheers Mark.

How to speed-up dialnig with X101P clone modem?
I want to speed-up dialing on X101P clone (Ambient modem). I probably must change wcfxo.c, but what line to change? (On usual modems, I can type ATS11=50 to get tone dialing much faster (50ms instead of default 90ms). After that, I can write configuration to nvram (AT&W) to be permanent)

Using voice modem as poor man's FXO in Asterisk 1.8
Hi all, I've tried researching this, and so far, have struggled to find any contemporary information on the issue, so I do apologise if asking this irritates people who have answered this before. I have managed to set up Asterisk 1.8 on the web server here. I have two softphones (Ekiga) able to communicate with it. So far so good. I'm now curious to see if I can link it with the PSTN

Following these instructions, AOL5 is installed on my computer. The command "wine setup32.exe" was run. AOL5

TDM400P & X101P cards, echo issues?
Let me start by saying no, this is not the normal stupid echo question :) I currently have a SIP device and an X101P, and have had the usual echo issues and have played around with the various solutions, none of which are quite perfect (understandably).. however, my girlfriend is a little more picky than I am when she uses the phone, so I'm considering a Digium TDMXXB card for the house. Two FXO Astralis X101P cards in older PC?
Hello I'm using an older PC from 2000 that we have lying around at the office to learn about Asterisk using Pound Key 1.0.1 (http://www.rpath.org/rbuilder/project/asterisk/). It's using an AMD Duron 600MHz, a Gigabyte GA-7ZX motherboard, and two FXO Astralis X101P clones that I bought through eBay. Here are the three issues I have. Sorry, forgot the floppy with dmesg, lspci, and
