128-bit encryption message since update to 0.9.6
I had used WineTools to install IE6 under WINE 0.9.something (0.9.4, I think). It worked fine to connect to my employer's Citrix server and run Citrix apps that required 128-bit encryption to run SSL connections. Since updating WINE to 0.9.6 (via Apt-get, I run Debian), whenever I try to connect to the Citrix server, I get a message informing me that 128-bit encryption is required and I

How to instruct Wine to use MSIE rendering engine by default instead of Gecko?
Hi, I need to debug some complex Javascript that leaks in MSIE (no leaks in Firefox though). For this purpose, I am trying to utilize programs like Drip and sIEve. Both programs fail under Wine, and my guess is, they try to use Gecko as the rendering engine (and this is not what's desired: Gecko works fine with my stuff). Now, provided that MSIE can be installed under Wine, and works, can

(i've tried Winetricks for flash but it tells me the .exe hash doesn't match or something). Anyways, just curious, not to use ie in linux but mainly to get flash working since steam seems to use IE for

R-devel CHTML problem
Hi, I encountered this problem just before the 2.2.0 release. Then it went away for a while and came back at the beginning of this week. Here is what is happening (I am on Win2000 machine with all the necessary tools installed). I compile R-devel and R-patched trees every couple of days and install them in separate directories. Everything seems to work fine for R-patched. Compilation of

htmlhelp() question
I wonder if anyone who has worked on the win32 version of R could help me with a HtmlHelp question? When you're building a win32 program using mingw (in my case, cross-compiling under GNU/Linux), what import library do you use to link against the HtmlHelp() function? I have got a copy of MS's htmlhelp.lib, but mingw doesn't seem to like this format; it wants an archive in .a format.

Microsoft Office 2007 and Wine only
First off before I delve into the purpose of this thread I want to lay down a few ground rules. This thread is only about MS OFFICE 2007 (OFFICE 12) and Wine. No Exceptions! To break it down further I don't want any information about the following alternatives which I know work, but defeat the purpose. No talk of: Open Office (Ooo) MS OFFICE 2000, XP or 2003 CrossOver Office any emulators

Can't get past the registration screen. Application seems to lock-up. After inputting my numbers I just get this rather stupid looking white blank box and then rest of application goes into non-response and/or whole computer locks-up. Have set emulator to win2k. Locked up with xp setting too. Using Lenny.

Meetingmaker 8
We are running meetingmaker in the office I'm working in. We've been using oldish version 7.5 which have worked fine. Now we are trying to upgrade to meetingmaker 8, which is causing problems for our linux users running it under wine. There are two problems with meetingmaker 8 under wine: Something is causing it to consume a lot of cpu cycles even when it seems to sit completely
