Wine virtual desktop + multiple applications running
I'm playing Anarchy Online through Wine on Ubuntu system. The game doesn't run on windowed mode so I'm forced to use fullscreen, however this is not the issue since I'm using virtual desktop emulation that gives me the window in which I can play the game and also Alt+Tab to other programs. Thing is that I'm using this addon thingie called Clicksaver while playing the game.

Troubles patching Anarchy Online
Ok, I finally got done with installing files for work, but now I am having troubles with a game I play occasionally called Anarchy Online. I got the game itself installed just fine, but now I need to patch it, and according to the forum, I need to get Internet exploder working on linux. I tried the IES4Linux first, because it seemed easiest, but I got an error with my version of wine. I am using

Anarchy Online
I am on Ubuntu 9.10, and I am trying to get Anarchy Online to work. Wine with it works well on my other computer, which is Arch Linux, and much more modern (actually has graphics card). My current computer has 1 gb ram, 3ghz processor. This is what happens: Code: *****@*********:~/Desktop/Anarchy Online$ wine Anarchy.exe fixme:actctx:parse_depend_manifests Could not find dependent assembly

IMAPD fix for RH
You probably know this already, but the following notice appeared to bugtraq. As a side note the protocol on bugtraq seems to be designed to make a fix available before the announcement by providing one yourself or giving the maintainer a week's advance warning (M$ gets a lot longer warning and *still* fails to fix the bugs before bugtraq knows). Having said that M$ insists on allowing me

Sessionbased traffic on NANO?
I use the wellknown nano setup (by Christoph Simon) on a few sites with success. From time to time a user approaches me with problems that seems to originate from the fact that only trafic to the samt DST IP on the net will get out the same link. The problem happens with traffic from applications that contact different IPs in the "same session". An example is Anarchy Online, where

Paste in File Manager & keyboard issues
I am brand new to Wine. Just downloaded it (for OSX) and got it going today. I actually used Winebottler (http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/), but I think my problems are symptoms of Wine itself. I am using Wine primarily to play my favorite game, Anarchy Online, on my new iMac sans bootcamp. The game installed fine, it loads up and seems to run well, but many of the keys needed for the game

Possibly unusual question involving windows version of wine.
Hey, I've heard that in a few fringe cases, WINE actually improves performance in a game. I believe I may be in one of these few fringe cases. Anyway, is there anyway to run a program in wine, while on windows? I've downloaded the windows binary .zips and I have no idea what to do with them. I've tried running the game through the wcmd.exe, but that does not seem to change

Making isolinux boot menu: problems
Thanks Didier, Stephanie used Anarchy Linux to make our menu work. Regarding the missing instructions at https://wiki.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Menu After comparing the (now working) menu with our old non-working menu made using the instructions from the syslinux wiki page, she found that it had many more .c32 files copied from /usr/share/syslinux and there were a few critical ones to

Debian 3.0 and wine
Hello all! So I just realised that I need wine. I'm sitting on a Debian 3.0 box (which I'm in no way am competent enough to upgrade until a new release from Debian) and want to use wine. Is there any pre-compiled binaries out there or do I have to try to compile it myself, and if I do, do you think that you will be able to help me when I get stuck? Regards, Tomas ---anarki och k?rlek

Announcing another ddraw/d3d7 patch
Hi, Merging the code into WineD3D is done now, so the last thing is to merge the new ddraw code. I have uploaded a new diff to http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e0526822/, with some updated screenshots. The diff is against wine git from May, 26th, 12 am(yep, the site has an older date). It should apply to much older versions too, but it won't work because a few crucial patches were applied in

Re: RedHat 5.X Security Book
I think it depends on wat you are using the book for..I myself have been trying for a long time to find a document that describes basic RedHat and Linux security, what to look for, inherent dangers etc etc. So I was overjoyed when I found this book. No, I am not depending on it as a sole source of information, but the basicis that it covers simply do not get repeatadly posted to the lists you

Wierd browse problem
Hi, I'm running 1.9.18p7 in two places (two separate networks): one on Solaris 2.5 and one on Linux 2.0.33 (RedHat 4.1). The latter works fine, browsing included, 'smbclient -L server' lists the machines and workgroups/domains. However, this is on a small (two subnet) network. However, the Solaris installation does not appear to be working properly (for browsing... everything
