Core show function?
Someone posted a message suggesting someone try sendtext() and so I thought I'd see if it was useful. Much searching through help at the CLI has failed to find any help for sendtext, but I did find that: "core show function vmcount" fails but: "core show function VMCOUNT" works. Is that a bug and if so, has it been reported? Ira

How to find out if a new voicemail exists
Hi, I would like to see if during a call a new voicemail was recorded. I want to send a SMS to mobile phones if someone recorded a message on our voicemail system. I can use VMCOUNT to see if there are new messages in the Inbox but this will result in new SMS being sent even if the caller hangs up during the Voicemailpromt, at least if there are still unread/unheard messages in the inbox. Is

Removing mailbox and password prompt for voicemail
I tried your extension definition as suggested: exten => *98,1,Verbose(0,${CHANNEL(peername)} calling voicemail) same => n,VoicemailMain(${CHANNEL(peername)}@VoiceMail,s) same => n,Hangup But there was no change in the prompts asked, ie. the voice first asked for 'mailbox', and then 'password' as before. The prompts are not removed. Please clarify what you mean by the

OT: finding a designer (bit of a rant)
I''ve written my app already. It outputs valid xhtml and I need a stylesheet to drop over the top. How hard is it for people to understand that? It''s a small project, they''d have to do the main design/layout, and then a little custom styling for some specific elements which don''t appear on every page. That''s the point of CSS right? write once, use

Accessing a 'user' variable via. dialplan.
Hi, I know you can access various sip variables via 'Set(sstatus=${SIPPEER(201,status)})' (for example) to get the status of the sip user - but what about variables? I have a user that has setvar=123456 in their users.conf (sip.conf if you prefer). I can read it with a 'sip show peer 201' - but that gives everything and parsing that isn't really an option. Anyone know how

dialplan tips
Hi everybody In advance sorry for my bad english and if my problem was already exposed (I didn't find any tips in the mailing list archive. Bad luck) I have some questions about asterisk 1.6 release : 1) how can I do a n+101 priority jumping if a SIP canal is busy ? I read that the general parameter "priorityjumping" is depreciated in the 1.6 release and I already try the

Windows XP clients
My UPS (an APC 620, FWIW) is attached to my Sun workstation, and monitored by NUT. Everything works a treat and I'm delighted with it (in direct contrast to the useless APC software it came with). But ... I'd like to put my wife's XP machine on the UPS, and have the Sun shut it down, when appropriate. I see there is an XP port of NUT, so ... before I start down the path of horror that

[Req] polymorphic associations howto
Hi people, I''m looking into polymorphic associations as a way to cleanup some messy parts of my code. I think they will allow me to do exectly what I need, but since there''s little to none written on this subject, I''d be delighted if someone could shed some light on this. Especially what the different options and needed table structures need to be. Thanks, -

How to make * don't strip the leading 0
Hi folks! Is it possible to tell asterisk not to strip the leading 0 of *incoming* MSNs? I use asterisk with i4l and whenever I get a call from an long-distance party, the leading 0, which should be there according the german numbering, is not. So if I get a call from a mobile phone 0177-1234567 should be displayed, but 177-1234567 is displayed. I double checked if I've forgotten to remove an

Xapian 1.4.0 released
I'm delighted to announce the release of 1.4.0. You can download from: http://xapian.org/download This is a major milestone release, but the last development release (1.3.7) was essentially a release candidate so the changes arefairly minor - the only notable change is the update to Unicode 9.0.0. That means a short thank you list for this release - thanks to Andy Chilton! As always, if

[ADV] Rails Recipes Beta Book is now available
I''m delighted to announce that Chad Fowler''s new book, Rails Recipes, is now available as a Beta Book. This is a great title for folks who know Rails, and for folks who want to get the most out of Rails. It contains detailed recipes for doing real-world things with Rails, all illustrated with working code. Some examples are drawn from Rails 1.1, the rest from Rails 1.0.
