NPA NXX data
HI all - I know, slightly off list, but.. I'm looking for a NPA NXX database with City and State. Actually it's for an Asterisk routing app I'm working on. I see several vendors that want a few bucks to those that want an arm and leg. I expect this is published somewhere by some government agency, but Google hasn't got me to it yet.

Does anyone have the NPA NXX list for North America in comma delimited file?
Only looking for:
NPA, NXX, City, State
Just seems it should be available free somewhere?
Then comes the next step, the setting callerid name based on the NPANXX to

CallerID name lookup AGI script
Hi all,
My VoIP provider (race.com) doesn't send name info with CallerID, so I wrote
an AGI script that does the following:
1) If it's a toll free number (800|888|877|866), set the CallerID name to
"TollFree Caller"
2) Use curl to look up the number in Google phonebook
3) If a business listing, set the CallerID name to business name, as is.
4) If it's a residential

Mobile Number to Mobile carrier mapping
Hi Folks,
Is there a way to find out the mobile/landline carrier name based on the
phone number?
For example, who is the mobile carrier for (415)2345678
I had heard about some query but just don't remember how/what?
Thanks in advance.

OT - Originating Network identity
I am not sure if it is the right list for the post.
Please excuse my lack of expertise, if it is a bad
post.
Is there anyway to detect the originating network
identity of the call in Asterisk? For example, if the
Asterisk gets a call from Cingular Network, is there
anyway to find out that the call came from a Cingular
subscriber.
Thanks

Enterprise quality SIP provider
I need to setup incoming (over an 800 number and some local DID's) and
outgoing phone calls (all over the country) with an Asterisk server.
This asterisk server has 20 Polycom 430 phones connecting to it.
I need the best possible SIP provider out there. I have tried
http://www.nufone.net and http://www.broadvoice.com and they do not
even come close to the expected quality.

DID's needed for Reston Virginia - + hosted asterisk
I've just started consulting for a SME client based in Reston Virginia.
They don't know it yet but they are going to need a hosted asterisk
service and some DID's.
Email me if you are able to provide 10 DID's in Reston (must be able to
be ported away!!) and hosted Asterisk with end user configurable IVR
etc. Probably only 5-8 users at the moment BUT... they'll be

Question about IAX/DID's...
Hi,
Here is a general question, not applying to asterisk so much, but in
the application of asterisk. I have purchased a few IAX DID's through
VoicePulse and am interested in a service provider who has the ability
to provide me with one number (reliable, as I wish to publish), and the
capacity to redirect those calls to my IAX DID's (is this even
possible)? Also, with IAX

Milliwatt Test Number List
Hello:
Does anyone know of a list of milliwatt test numbers for debugging echo?
Specifically I am looking for a milliwatt test number in Canada,
preferrably in a 416 or 905 NPA exchange....different carriers would
also be nice....ie. Bell Canada, GT, Sprint (Now Rogers Telecom)
I called Rogers NOC and asked them for the milliwatt test number....they
didn't even know what it was....so I

Where did my DID's go??
Okay, first a little background - I've been with Packet8 since a month
after they started. I found that we were outgrowing their services
and decided to move to an asterisk box in the office. I found a
service provider that offered me a reasonable rate. After a fair
ammount of testing I decided to stick with their services and port my
3 primary DID's from Packet8 to the new service.

bandwidth.com will not sell me a sip line since the address is in Citrus Heights CA
I called bandwidth.com to buy a sip line from them for $30 a month.
But they said they will not sell me a sip line since the address on
the account is Citrus Heights CA and they can not provide services in
that area. On asking further the person clarified that there is no
e911 service available in the 916 area code for bandwidth.com
But other providers like www.broadvoice.com are able to provide

Some advice on routing DID's
Would like some advice on the best way to route DID's to remote
asterisk servers. Currently I have multiple DID's on my main Asterisk
server in a datacenter and have remote servers that connect via an IAX
trunk and when a call comes into my server I pass it to the iax peer.
Just wondering what the best way it is to do this without having to
have multiple line contexts for each remote

IAXTEL Inbound, and Outbound Tollfree Changes
Last night Mark and I made some changes to the IAXTEL tollfree outbound,
and inbound access.
The inbound access number has changed to: 248-724-0700.
(This number is in Pontiac, MI Ratecenter, and is supplied by
Telesthetic LLC, a next gen phone compnay)
This number will say "Please dial your number now" at that point
you can dial your 1-700-XXX-XXXX IAXTEL number assigned.

calleridname.agi patch to only overwrite name if it is missing
I edited the calleridname.agi patch to only overwrite the name if it is missing.
The asteridex option still overwrites the name since it is our master list for known numbers.

AstDB/Berkely DB - Hash function? Balanced-Tree? b-Tree? Linked List?
Does anyone know enough about the implementation of AstDB to know
whether the data structure is a Hash function, a Balanced-Tree, a
b-Tree, or a Linked List?
I'm trying to estimate the lookup 'cost' of a AstDB with around 160,000
keys? Obviously I already know that it WILL WORK, but the question is
whether the data structure is optimal in the Berkeley DB AS IMPLEMENTED
in Asterisk.
