chan_oh323
Hi, does anybody manage to get music-on-hold with inaccess oh323 driver? Statement like : exten => 10,1,Dial(OH323/xx,mt) works (dials the xx number) but no music is heared. Also, if I put 'r' (ringback) it doesn't work either. With chan_h323 I got this functionality but this driver had some other problems (call transfer don't work).... Thanx in advance, Victor...

DECT USB dongle - an Asterisk channel?
Michael Graves bounced this to me this morning - it looks interesting as a possible device for which an Asterisk channel driver could be written: http://www.redorbit.com/news/technology/1699391/rtx_releases_dectcatiq_20_usb_dongle/index.html?source=r_technology DECT really is a nice protocol if properly done - wireless phones should really just work like this everywhere. speed?
dear R wizards: while extolling the virtues of R, one of my young econometrics colleagues told me that he still wants to run ox because [a] his code is written in it (good reason); [b] because ox seems to be faster than R in most benchmarks (huh?). this got me to wonder. language speed can't matter much, so it must be mostly the underlying matrix algebra by now. I presume that nowadays

More words for Allison
Here's the latest batch of words to get shipped out to Allison Smith. Please submit reasonably small changes to me by tomorrow 10:00 AM Eastern time, and I'll add them. As usual, donations to what will be a ~$110 USD expense would be appreciated, as I am paying for this round out of my pocket. Please send to paypal address "jtodd@loligo.com". I did not include all

Attaching event observers to a series of elements - best practice?
Hi all, New member here. I''ve been working with Prototype for a while, and I love it. However, there''s one thing I still can''t figure out. Let''s say I have an array of objects, representing contacts in an address book: var contacts = [ { id: 1, firstName: "Bob", lastName: "Smith" }, { id: 2, firstName: "Sue", lastName:

AstriCon videos: a question of method
I'm doing some quick research on how to get our videos from AstriCon available in a "reasonable" format that allows easy viewing, reduces our bandwidth costs, and allows good tracking for who/where/what is viewing the videos. YouTube seems to have a very nice set of tools and statistics collection methods, and might be perfect EXCEPT.... Their main limitation right now

Using Asterisk? Get on the press list!
I'll post my semi-annual request for press contacts. If you have an Asterisk installation that matches one or more of these adjectives: - enterprise-oriented - government-oriented - education-oriented - unique - clever - large - complex ...we would be interested in having you talk with the press! We at Digium keep a list of people who wouldn't mind talking to the

OT: TechShop
This email is off topic. If it offends you then suck it :-) But seriously, I know this will interest USA readers (unfortunately for now primarily on the west coast only). How cool is this concept http://techshop.ws/index.html Cheers, Dean ________________________________ From: Dean Collins Sent: Sunday, 3 August 2008 7:53 PM To: 'newtech-1 at meetup.com' Subject: TechShop

Where does PyGrub run?
Hello, I am still confused: does pyGrub run in dom0 as root? as it says in here: "PyGRUB used to act as a “PV bootloader”: it runs in dom0 as root, opens the PV disk image, reads its GRUB menu.lst, presents a GRUB-like menu to let the user choose a kernel which it copies to the dom0 filesystem, it then closes the disk image and eventually tells the domain builder to use that copy. Such a

Open Source Pavilion at AstriCon: Your project wanted!
Each year at AstriCon, we have an Open Source Pavilion which showcases projects which are adjuncts to Asterisk, or which are directly relevant to improving the utility and features of Asterisk. It gives smaller projects the chance to have some space to display what they're doing, and to give demonstrations to the AstriCon attendees who are interested in some of the things happening

IAX2 - Separate Signaling and Media?
Greetings all- Here's an odd question. Supposedly, IAX2 now has the ability to operate with signaling and media in separate streams, very much like SIP. I've read about this feature here[1] and there[2], but I have yet to see how to actually implement or test it. There are no options in the iax.conf sample configs with Asterisk. All suggestions welcome, except those telling me to jump

Matching *, + and # in the dialplan
In several places online, and in the Asterisk F.O.T. book, there is a warning against using '_.' saying: "[it] should probably never be used". However, the need often arises act on numeric extensions that begin with *'s and #'s, and '+', and of course _X. does not match I have tried exten => _[0-9*#+]. but that seems to be the functional equivalent to _X.

Open Source in an Economic Downturn: Asterisk stories needed
I'm giving a talk at SCALE 2009 (Southern CAlifornia Linux Expo) on Sunday in Los Angeles, and the topic of my talk is "Open Source in an Economic Downturn". I've got lots of talking points for this talk, but it would be interesting to hear some short anecdotes about how you in the Asterisk community are thriving, or at least surviving, by virtue of the benefits of

SIP registrations
Can asterisk act as a SIP registrar or location server? I would like to be able for a user agent(client) to register with whatever client they are using as "username@domain-name.com". Rather than the entry/username/password that is setup in the sip.conf file. That way a user could log into any SIP enable client and their calls would follow them around. I have read the sip.conf man pages

SoxMix - Fails to Execute
I have Asterisk configured to record calls. Both in and out record ok but SoxMix fails to join the two files. The error from the CLI is as follows: Execute of ( nice -n 19 soxmix /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/Support-in.wav /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/Support-out.wav /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/Support.wav && rm -f /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/Support-* ) & failed.
