odd issue with the with SIP over VPN
I've run into a odd issue where inbound calls to the SIP client work
fine, but outbound from the SIP client do not.
The path between the client and the server is as below.
N900 SIP client <-- OpenVPN --> Asterisk
The version of Asterisk in question is 1.6.0.18.
Any suggestions?

SIP/WiFi handsets?
Anyone know of any *portable* SIP/WiFi handsets? Looking for a decent
price:quality ratio, of possible. Keep seeing handsets for Vonage, etc.,
in Best Buy and the like, but I imagine it's locked to Vonage, and can't
be re-appropriated.
Thanks!

OpenVPN on phones?
It's just come to my attention that newer phones from both Snom and
Grandstream support OpenVPN. Is this a new trend or something? Since
OpenVPN, in one swell foop, deals with both NAT issues and securing
communications, I'd be very interested in hearing if other phone vendors
were embracing OpenVPN as well. (Other VPN solutions are all well and
good, but I really like the flexibility

Asterisk 1.6 and OpenVPN RTP problem
Hello All,
I have installed Asterisk 1.6 with openVPN in the same machine. I have set
up a VPN connection between 2 SIP clients and Asterisk using x-lite.
The 2 clients connects to Asterisk. SIP signaling goes ok over the vpn
tunnel.
When attempting to make a call between the clients, the siganling part of
the call goes well. But, when the call is set up, some RTP packets are
exchanged at

New thread - SIP over VPN

Correct. My recollection is that OpenSSL uses TCP for the setup
and management of the tunnel (e.g. authentication and key
exchange) and uses UDP to carry the actual payload... each
tunneled IP packet is wrapped in a UDP datagram. That way,
the UDP transport

QoS & VPN
I've got multiple satellite office all linked back to the main office
via VPN. Each office has their own asterisk server which registers back
to the main office's Asterisk server. Each office also has a 1Mb
downstream / 384k - 768k upstream connection. The branches are using
Speex for their connections back to the main office. The issue I'm
having is that there are times that

OpenVPN/SNOM 820: a review.
Hey, all. Got an SNOM 820 in the other day to kick the tires. As with
many phones, provisioning it was a bit of a PITA. The biggest problem, as
far as I could tell, was that their firmware just doesn't seem that
stable, and is sometimes hard to get to.
- I managed to corrupt the firmware twice; fortunately, instead of
bricking the phone, there's a fairly easy-to-use "rescue

Why wireless interface cannot be attached to a Linux host bridge?
Hello, everyone.
I'm from japan and using machine translation, so I apologize if it's hard
to read.
I am currently trying to build a virtual environment using Ubuntu and kvm.
However, I found out from the following page that the virtual machine
cannot use the bridge network because I am using a wireless network.

OpenVPN + SIP configuration?
Hello
I read a whole book on OpenVPN, but still can't figure how to
configure the server + client so that the the client connects and
sends SIP/RTP data through the tunnel.
To get started, I'd rather use a shared key instead of X509
(certificates + keys). The server is running on a uClinux appliance,
with /dev/net/tun, and OpenVPN is 2.0.9. The clients will be Windows
hosts connecting

MAC Validation and related problem that is killing me...
Hi there...
I want to use MAC validation for strict computer access rules to our
server and LAN. I do not want any computer have ANY kind of access
(neither LAN or Internet access, not even get an IP from the dhcp server,
or being able to connect to anything manually configuring the IP settings)
unless its MAC is on the list. Our server has two interfaces (eth0 & eth1)
and 2 zones (net and

WiFi IP Phones
Guys.
I know there are wifi sip phones out there but I have a question, are any of
these phones "anti explosive"? By that I mean, there are certain regulations
about phones or cel phones that are not recommended to operate in
environments like gas stations due to sparks and the chance of ingiting gas
fumes.
Are there any wifi sip phones out here that have complaince with regulations

CentOS 7, systemd, nmcli, wifi, oh, my...
I've been googling, but haven't come up with a satisfactory answer to the
question of how I permanently turn off wifi on a workstation or server
(which are *all* hardwired).
I see I can turn wifi off... but I don't know that it's permanent.

Configure WiFi at install on CentOS Stream 9
Hi,
I'm trying to install CS-9 and need to have WiFi setup on boot.
I've tried installing with KVM as a test but only get the choice of an
ethernet connection at install time.
I've tried installing onto a spare laptop and it gives a choice of ethernet
or WiFi for network connections. I choose WiFi and it allows me to
configure the WiFi. It detects the network and the IP-address.

Centos7- WiFi not recognized - HWaddress - Or Any Idea
Hello,
I recently installed centos7+Gnome on my macbook air , at first start the wireless adaptor , which is the (infamous?) BCMA4360 , seemed to work because I was asked to choose the network and provided password, but thereafter wifi did not appear, so I can connect to the Internet only by cable. Googling a few days and checking on my computer I found the following:- the infamous wifi adapter

NT style domain users on Win10 cannot connect WIFI

I realize it's not necessarily Samba type of a question but since this
community here is vast with lots of win experience I thought I'd poke -
same one winstation(ver. 1903) and computer's domain users when logged
in can connect WIFI no problems, only Samba domain users cannot (to the
same WIFIs). Anybody?
many thanks, L.

T-Mobile and WiFi Voip
I had a friend yesterday showing me his new T-mobile blackberry with
WiFi Voip. I could not believe it until I actually saw him making
calls. There is no T-Mobile cell coverage at my house but he was able
to simply access the WiFi router and make the call. It appears this
VoIP offering is tightly integrated since you use the same phone number
to make and receive calls over WiFi or Cell.
