Sliding game screen
Hello again,
Does anyone know why some FPS games tend to have the screen slide
sideways occasionally, showing part of the desktop (this is a dual
display system so my desktop is 2048x768). I've configured the metamode
settings in xorg.conf to blank the primary monitor when the games go
full screen and change the resolution -- which works fine except when
the mouse movement causes the screen

Unreal Tournament 2003 help - one last bug to overcome!
Hi all, this is my first post here! :)
I've managed to get the PC version of Unreal Tournament 2003 working in wine on Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It took about 4 hours of fiddling to eventually get it installed properly from the discs, patched, and running at the correct resolution in widescreen. (1280 x 800)
The game runs beautifully and looks really nice on my Macbook pro, however, I have

Tribes 2 server
I'm upgrading my colocated game server from Fedora Core 2 and was
considering CentOS 5 for it. The principal game is Tribes 2, a native Linux
port. Has anyone successfully run T2 on a recent version of CentOS,
particularly 5? I'm mostly worried about library compatibility.

Unreal Tournament 2003
I've just gotten around to reading the IRC chat with the developers of
Unreal Tournament 2003.
Looks like Vorbis support is a possibility:

Problems with Wine and twin view
Hello all,
I'm using wine 1.3.11 on gentoo and i'm having some problems
As far as i understand, in order to stop games spanning on both of my monitors i have to add a metamode in xorg.conf.
So i've edited my xorf.conf to:
Code:
Option "metamodes" "CRT: 1280x1024_75 +1920+0, DFP: 1920x1080_60 +0+0; DFP: 1920x1080_60 +0+0, CRT: NULL"
This is fine for

Problems with OpenGL in tribes
This is the first time I've had to post about a problem with wine that I
couldnt fix.
I just recently upgraded to a TNT2 from a dual Voodoo2 rig. I'm running
Wine on Slackware 7.1, kernel 2.2.18 from kernel.org, Xfree4.01 from
slackware source. and NVIDIAs latest drivers.
I'm getting a odd problem with wine trying to load libglide2x.so when I set
Tribes to use OpenGL. This doesnt

Tracking DLLs
Does anyone know what command line params I can use to track what DLLs a
a program is accessing -- I'm trying to debug "unreal" from a compiled
install of Wine 0.9.4. Everything works fine for the most part but the
keyboard and mouse tend to freeze up. I thought maybe using a native
DLL for mouse and keyboard might fix the problem.
Thanx much,
Jeff

Tribes 1.x & Wine
Has anyone ever tried to actually get a tribes server
running under wine or another emulator?
Just the other day i was setting up a linux counter-strike server.
My friend asked me if i would setup a Tribes 1.0 or 1.11 server.
I thought linux would be a great way to do it.
I was trying to run a headless / dedicated starsiege tribes server (1.0/1.11)
I Installed the tribes files (including the

Starcraft + wine 1.1.1 @ FreeBSD 7.0
Hello,
I try to run StarCraft on FreeBSD 7.0 using wine 1.1.1. The game hangs while I'm running it (I can see loading and image with 3 characters). Also StarEdit is very slow, however it doesn't hang. I installed Stronghold Crousader on FreeBSD using wine and it seems to work fine.
I installed some linux games (unreal tournament 2004, unreal tournament, tuxracer) and I suppose that DRI

Display quirks
Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some help with a small nuisance. I've
been pretty successful installing and playing a number of games under
WINE but I notice a problem, particularly with FPS type games:
I use a dual display configuration - Nvidia GeForce 4 MX. I've managed
to configure the "metamode" settings in xorg.conf so when the games go

Unreal & Mousecapture
Hi,
recently I compiled and installed the wine-20010629 Release. On my Machine
(PII-400@450-128MB with ATI Rage Pro) Unreal produces fantastic framerates
with XFree86-4.0.1. Halflife is running too, but only in Softwaremode (he
says he would not comply with my GL-driver, even if compilation with the
flag "--enable-opengl" has been successful).
But my problem is another. I am not able

Controlling Buffer Lengths
Hello all. This email comes with a huge explanation. You can skip to
the final line for the short version of it.
I am wondering how I can control buffer lengths with Icecast. I can't
see any information in the documentation related to buffers. I also
cannot seem to find a mailing list search function and Google is not
helping.
The problem is this. We are trying to run an Unreal

Not to take away from wine, but loki (www.loki.com) has released a patch
that will install and update UT into a Linux game, where Wine, or any other
package, would not be needed. I have it running and it works great!

I read your message about using the Loki Linux Unreal Tournament engine
to play Unreal. I have the original Unreal Windows version CD and would
like to play it on Linux but can't get the Loki version to recognize the
CD. Can you tell me which files to download from Loki and how to install
them?
Thanks,
