Sourcing encrypted files
Colleagues,
I have an unusual problem; I am wondering whether anyone has dealt
with it and found a solution.
I have a script that needs to be encrypted. R will then be run on
the script. There are various means to decrypt the file, some of
which leave the decrypted code on the hard drive for an excessive
period.
One means that I have considered to deal with this is the following

hiding table IDs from users
I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on the most efficient way of
making sure users never see internal table IDs? Clearly, scaffold views
show a lot of IDs by default and those can be hidden. The problem seems
to be all of the IDs that Rails passes around in URLs (such as
http://mysite.com/user/show/12345).
My primary concerns are security and confidentiality--one can imagine
that there

Hiera and hiera-gpg
I am having a bit of difficulty implementing hiera-gpg; particularly with
accomplishing the deencryption in my manifests. Can anyone either provide
a simple example or point me to a good resource? I have searched alot and
am still struggling.
Any help would be very appreciated!
Thanks!

HardPhone Dilemma
I have a dilemma. I am trying to setup an asterisk setup for about 10
people, but with the ability to expand to 100s. We are looking into
hardphones to use for our systems. Here are the requirments I am looking
for:
SIP
Not POE
Full duplex Speakerphone
$100-$300
We would like to have the cordless and corded option if possible (at least
for 3 of the 10 people). So here are the

CentOS, PHP & OwnCloud/Nextcloud: the version dilemma
Unfortunately the same can be said about Ruby, RoR, Python etc etc etc.
Personally I think it's perfectly reasonable to track Nextcloud upgrades combined with SCL major upgrades once every couple of years.

This may be a very far-fetched idea, but here goes. I don't know much
about Docker, just fiddled around with it a couple hours in a VM. Since

Can Dovecot reject unencrypted mail?
Hi,
Is it possible to configure Dovecot to reject mail that is not
encrypted. In other words:
1. If the user tries to send an unencrypted message from their MUA,
the server rejects it.
2. If a third-party tries to send an unencrypted message to the user,
the server rejects it.
The end result would be that no mail stored on the server can be
decrypted by the administrator.
I am aware that:

fstab dilemma - pounding on file_line and augeas
RHEL 6.5
Puppet 3.7.1
puppetlabs-stdlib-4.3.2
Local hardening guidelines say that /usr/local and /var/log/audit have to be separate partitions.
OK, so I make "mount" resources.
Now the problem: The order of the mount points in /etc/fstab makes a difference.
I had /usr/local before /usr, and at boot, the mount of /usr/local failed because the mount point did not (yet) exist.
So I need

FWD: Network Boot IP Configuration Dilemma
If you want eth0 to be used and no dynamic IP
configuration request should not occur in the Linux
kernel, specify *both* APPEND and IPAPPEND options
like:
APPEND ip=:::::eth0:none
IPAPPEND 1
It's very tricky but it works, at least Linux 2.4.18
which I tested. The IP-PNP routine in the kernel
doesn't modify values if the option values are not
explicitly specified. IPAPPEND doesn't

Unfortunately I don't have a Red Hat account, so I can't submit any bug
reports.

quota sql dict permissions dilemma
Hi!
I'm trying to set up SQL based dict quota. The quota is working, gets
updated but I had to configure really loose file permission to make it
work:
dovecot.conf:
dict {
quota = pgsql:/etc/dovecot/dovecot_dict-sql.conf
}
service dict {
unix_listener dict {
mode = 0660
group = vmail
# sidenote: I noticed that writing the number equivalent
# of 'vmail' here does not work.

PHP version dilemma
I am running Centos 5.8; at least
uname -rmi
gives me centos-release-5-8.el5.centos
A CMS package is telling me that I need PHP 5.2x, however yum
update says that I am fully up to date.
Is there a "safe" way to upgrade PHP to 5.2x?

softswitch dilemma
Hello everybody,
Im new to the list and also new to asterisk, Im wondering if I could set up asterisk as a softswitch, I guess for what I've been reading that It could be possible but almost all the info and documentation Ive found so far is about asterisk as a PBX, etc.
Im willing to set a small voip wholesale traffic bussiness and Im not quite sure asterisk is the right chocie for that.
