vorbis-tools 1.3.0 BETA - Help testing.
Dear vorbis-dev lurkers, I bring you the first beta release of vorbis-tools 1.3.0. It has quite a few new features and the final version will have even more, so I am sure it is to everyone's benefit that it gets as much tested as possible so we can do a quick release. Here's the changelog so far: * Fixed an error in configure.ac; --with-speex/flac work again (#1319) * Corrected

xtable.by
Hi all, I have a series of measurements made over different types of road surfaces and capacity that I want to summarize in tables via LaTeX. Ideally I'd like a table similar to this ( http://www.andy-roberts.net/misc/latex/tutorial4/multirow.png ) with mean/SD of the measurement broken down by road type (both surface and capacity). Ideally it would be extensible so that when I add layers

Regarding Soft Independent Modeling Computational Analysis
Hi I'm a B.E student pursuing my Project in the CEERI unit of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Chennai, TN, India. I'm working on R -Language for my project. I'm in need of the functionality of SIMCA for the project. Is there any in-built function for SIMCA in R? Or are there people working on it? It would be a great help if you let us know as soon as possible.

Initial debug of client - Need command line help
I am trying to debug the RSYNC client and server by single stepping through them. The server seems to ok up to the point where it is waiting for the client connection. On the client side, I am having trouble finding the right options so that it will connect up to the local server with out fork() a copy of itself or trying to exec the rsh command. This is on RSYNC 2.5.5 on OpenVMS Alpha. If

[Fwd: Re: What happened to this list?]
Interesting question. I'm not complaining, I find that the Linux/OSS world is in general amazingly helpful, and people do find answers on this list. However, I must say that several of my own questions here never got answered, and many others go unanswered. The samba team is doing a fantastic job, but yes, this list does seem short of people who have the time or expertise to provide answers.

Passing data to aov
Hello Again Gurus and Lurkers: I?m trying to build a very user-friendly function which does aov without having the user type in a formula (which would be tedious in this case). The idea is to take the response from a PCA score matrix, and the factors from a list. A simple example is the function given below, along with test data and a sample call to the function. I'm certainly having

Port density: DS3 cards?
Obviously, there are no DS3 TDM cards that are currently compatible with Zap channels. (or are there?) Does anyone know of an inexpensive DS3 card that could perhaps be used with Asterisk if one were to try to port the Zap drivers to such a card? PCI, of course, would be the bus of choice. I think there are quite a few discouraging comments to be made on that question. Firstly, most

AppDB
How does one go about getting a newer version of an application added to the AppDB in order to provide reports as to what does and does not work with that version of the application when run via Wine? In particular I'd like to add my observations regarding v4.31 of Pegasus Mail but it is not one of the listed versions. -- Jim

I have a quick question regarding this list.
-- Hello OpenSSH, How do I know if my message has been posted correctly if at all? Unlike other list, I do not get my original message. Patch to wxWindow.h
This patch fixes background color problems (at least on Windows). It uses the dreaded ''FIXME'' My plan for next weekend is to try building wxPython from the source to see how they manage to achieve several things with SWIG that we''re not (yet) able to. If I''m successful it might lead to wrapping a significant portion of wxWidgets more correctly than

dovecot 2.x via xinetd
Hello, I was using dovecot 1.2.x via xinetd with a setup like http://wiki.dovecot.org/InetdInstall Since I upgraded to Debian Wheezy, shipping dovecot 2.x, it no longer works. At best, I end up with stuff like Error: net_connect_unix(anvil) failed: No such file or directory Fatal: Couldn't connect to anvil Any clues? Regards, (add me in Cc in replies, I'm not suscribed to the list)

samba doesn't close the connections
Hello! I have samba 2.2.1a with Solaris 2.5. The problem is this: sometimes samba doesn't close the connections from the clients (W95), the number of connections grows and finally samba doesn't work. This error appears a lot of times in the log of the machines that doesn't close the connections : [2001/10/08 20:48:07, 0] smbd/oplock.c:request_oplock_break(997)

Close list to outsider's posts?
Hi I'm assuming that Wayne is the obvious destination for this request. Can we make the mailing list reject emails from non-subscribers? This would drastically reduce the amount of spam we receive. Thanks, Shachar -- Shachar Shemesh Lingnu Open Source Consulting ltd. Have you backed up today's work? http://www.lingnu.com/backup.html
