FBI Homicide data?
Dear all, do you know if it's available and where the "FBI Homicide" dataset? It has at least the following columns: "victim age", "homicide age". A scatterplot of this data is visible here: http://www.uml.edu/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=6016 Thanks for your help! mario -- Ing. Mario Valle Data Analysis and Visualization Group |

panel data analysis possible with mle2 (bbmle)?
Dear R community, I want to estimate coefficients in a (non-linear) system of equations using 'mle2' from the "bbmle" package. Right now the whole data is read in as just one long time series, when it's actually 9 cross sections with 30 observations each. I would like to be able to test and correct for autocorrelation but haven't found a way to do this in this package.

Connecting to 1.9.18p10 from DOS boot diskette
I'm trying to connect to aSamba 1.9.18p10 share on my HP-UX 10.20 host, using an MS-DOS boot diskette (well, actually a Windows 95 boot diskette, but relying on the DOS-style protocol stack, etc.). When I issue the same username and password that I use to connect to that share from my Windows NT client, I get an invalid password message. Two things come to mind: is the DOS client sending my

Dear Customer! This is an automatic response from our support system, because you have sent a message to our support system e-mail address, which does not refer to an existing support case tracking number. MASQed subnets...
What can be done if I use a masqing firewall. I'd like the machine on my internal netowrk to be able to "see" the outside world. I'd also like the firewall machine to be able to share on both sides. I'd also like to create a domain for all of the machines on the inside of the firewall. I've had many different smbclient like programs perform with totaly different

[PATCH v2 2/6] drm/fb-helper: Map DRM client buffer only when required
This patch changes DRM clients to not map the buffer by default. The buffer, like any buffer object, should be mapped and unmapped when needed. An unmapped buffer object can be evicted to system memory and does not consume video ram until displayed. This allows to use generic fbdev emulation with drivers for low-memory devices, such as ast and mgag200. This change affects the generic framebuffer

SYSLINUX PXE LOCALBOOT Bitlockers
do you mean it cant be circumvented from the perspective of syslinux or TPM? Sadly firmware exploits are rampant. Core Security has good research on this as phrack... SMM can be gotten to by far too much. Tho if you are targeted by that skill level then going to ic3 might be good idea. -------- Original message -------- From: Ian Bannerman <ian at internals.io> Date:04/29/2014 2:43 PM

[PATCH v6 08/10] drm/gem: Store client buffer mappings as struct dma_buf_map
Kernel DRM clients now store their framebuffer address in an instance of struct dma_buf_map. Depending on the buffer's location, the address refers to system or I/O memory. Callers of drm_client_buffer_vmap() receive a copy of the value in the call's supplied arguments. It can be accessed and modified with dma_buf_map interfaces. v6: * don't call page_to_phys() on framebuffers in

simple migration 2.8 -> 3.02; simple test cases fail
I've been going back and forth over the HOWTO on bringing up a new samba 3.0 server in place of an old 2.8. I only have about 2-3 users, so even recreating them isn't a major pain -- but what does seem to be a pain is password authentication. I was using smbpasswd before, and am using it in my 3.0 setup as well. I'm running a version for Suse90 pointed to off of their support
