File uploaded to webDAV server on GlusterFS AFR - ends up without xattr!
Hello list. I'm testing GlusterFS AFR mode as a solution for implementing a highly available webDAV file storage for our production environment. Whlie doing performance tests I've notticed a strange behavior: the files which are uploaded via a webDAV server, end up without extended attributes, which removes the ability to self-heal. The set up is a simple testing environment with 2

Samba as Domain Member Server Authentication Problem
I've been working for hours with Samba on Ubuntu Server 9.10 (Samba version 3.4.0), trying to get it setup simply as a fileserver that performs authentication to an NT 4 server (yes, I know, old and out of date). After much struggling, I finally realized that my configuration *was* working when the clients connecting (from XP, and Win2k clients, mostly) were actually joined to the domain

Samba performance on FreeBSD and other platforms in a 'Normal' world.
Hello everyone, I have issues with samba on FreeBSD. Before I get into the gory details. I'll outline some research I've done. As well as try to show that the people who ask for help and are curious as to why they are getting poor performance from their file server are not A. Crazy, B. Inexperienced and / or C. Twits. (Mind you there is every possibility that I could be covered under

__Very__ Low Bandwidth
I am using the script below to simulate a very low bandwidth connection. I found that I could turn the bandwidth knob down to about 4kbit, but below that I didn''t get any traffic through. I''ve had a look at this generally, but couldn''t find an answer. It doesn''t even seem like the first reply packet gets through. I have tried it with much bigger buffers,

SV: SV: Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server
As I previously stated the reverse pointer does not have to match your domain. Suppose you ran a hosting company called host.com. Suppose you had clients client1.com and client2.com. This requires virtual mailboxes. That is one domain, host.com provides email services for client1.com and client2.com. Most servers would just have a reverse pointer to host.com. ? Original Message ? samba sessions dying - NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
Dear samba users & developers, I was hoping to seek some assistance on a problem I?ve been investigating for a number of weeks now. A brief summary would be that we have a number of Windows servers accessing UNC paths. In turn, these servers intermittently lose their ability to access the UNC paths. When this happens, restarting the application (IIS6 / 7) on the affected windows webserver
