SpanDSP not sending to fax extension.
Hi, all. I've got a fax extension in my extensions.conf, but spandsp never sends my faxes there. Both applications -- txfax and rxfax -- are registered by Asterisk, so they compiled and installed correctly. I've got a Sangoma A104 card, and (as some people had suggested) have loaded ztdummy. Everything seems fine, except that it never gets recognized as a fax. I've even turned off

app_rxfax creating bad faxes? (StripOffsets)
Using CVS HEAD (20050214 with the new jitter buffer) and the latest (0.0.6?) spandsp. libtiff version is 3.5.7, compiled from source. System is Slackware 10, 2.4.26 kernel, no fancy patches and processor is a P4 1.5GHz on an Intel motherboard. Most faxes are coming through fine but a few companies in particular are having very poor success faxing to us. Most faxes LOOK like they'd

Sipura 2000 w/fax machine oddities
I'm really trying to understand this. I have a Sipura 2000, brother MFC, and SpanDSP set up on asterisk. because asterisk softfax was not working well, i set up faxes to goto line2 on the sipura. this is working fine, i have only tested a few short faxes, but already my completion rate was 100% vs 5-10% that spandsp and asterisk gave me. here's the odd part. using the fax machine, I

FAX over PRI
We are doing this with the latest spandsp, iaxmodem and hylafax. Seems to work very well for us so far. -Jonathan > -----Original Message----- > From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users- > bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Michael Gaudette > Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2006 3:34 PM > To: 'Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial

Asterisk - Spandsp Fax not working?
Hi all, I'm trying to setup an asterisk based fax receiving machine. i'm using asterisk 1.2.18 and app_rxfax with spandsp 0.0.4pre9 I have no problems with a modem-fax, but with the fax machines i have tried almost every fax fails, both in sending and receive. the machines are sending a receiving a lot of faxes every day and working well, so i think the problem is on the spandsp side. i

fax server functionality on Asterisk
List, how can I put fax server functionality on Asterisk? * as a reliable fax server for 500-1000 fax/day (mostly incoming)? Fax server should be like HylaFax, i.e. stable, low maintenance and functionality like receiving fax as email with PDF attachment, sending faxes per WHFC. Faxing with spandsp using bri_stuff (BeroNet/Junghanns quadBRI ISDN cards) shortens some faxes, or faxes loose lines,

SV: Fax to email using mime-contruct
I also want to try that asterisk guide. But i'm not sure if i understood it correctly. What exactly do i need to do? Do i need to compile Asterisk with the spanDSP plugin or just configure extensions.conf? The URL to spanDSP in the guide wasn't working. I also use a traditional internet line to recieve calls and hopefully i will get Fax working soon. This is so confusing. Thanks, Arne

Autodetecting faxes
I have managed to get spandsp working, and if I dial a specific extension I can receive faxes. WhooHoo. However, I was wanting to use the "fax detect" option in order to allow individuals to receive faxes, but can't get that to work. Given the following extensions (mainly copied from examples on the wiki), why is the call simply passed onto the sip device rather than being

SpanDSP - Still can't send
I have googled until blie in the face, WiKi'd until physically exhausted and searched through every Asterisk repository that I can find, all to no avail... No matter which version of SpanDSP I use, with which version of libtiff, Asterisk, ... I simply cannot send faxes. I can receive faxes *perfectly* (sending from standard fax macine on POTS) into tiff file (via Digium analogue card),

Asterisk Fax
Hi, I have read a lot about the thread of faxing support in Asterisk as well as spanDSP. However, either I don't fully understand other people's applications or may be what I'm trying to do is different from what others are trying to do. I have a very simple setup. I have an asterisk server with a TE110P connected to the PSTN via T1 PRI (Asterisk A). I have another asterisk

Faxing: Anyone have a compiled executable?
Hi, Having problems with getting either RxFax or FaxReceive to compile. Running Asterisk 1.4 on CentOS 5. Does anyone have the free/open source executables that you could send me? Thanks for your help! P. S.: TxFax and FaxSend would also be appreciated.

Receiving faxes and then sending them on
Hi, I'm trying to setup a system where incoming faxes are received using SpanDSP and then send on to another (remote) fax machine. The SpanDSP part is working excellently, however I dont seem to be able to get the forwarding part to work. Heres what I put into my extensions.conf: exten => s,4,Answer() exten => s,5,Set(FAXFILE=/tmp/fax-${UNIQUEID}.tif) exten =>

Sending many faxes simultaneously with spandsp
I have a potential client that wants to send many faxes simultaneously, over E1 trunks. How CPU intensive is spandsp's txfax? How many concurrent faxes could be sent by a decent CPU (e.g. Xeon 3GHz) before timing starts to get disrupted? Re: SpanDSP TXFax and multipage faxes problems (aditional info)
OK I see the ponit (although I never said that second page is interrupted - I said that in some combinations of resolutions and TIFF options receiving fax "spits" another blank sheet of paper beside the clearly received first page). I have read someware (some faxing tutuorial) that there is some kind of control code (6 EOLs I belive) that should be in TIFFs between pages and that

OpenVPN/SNOM 820: a review.
Hey, all. Got an SNOM 820 in the other day to kick the tires. As with many phones, provisioning it was a bit of a PITA. The biggest problem, as far as I could tell, was that their firmware just doesn't seem that stable, and is sometimes hard to get to. - I managed to corrupt the firmware twice; fortunately, instead of bricking the phone, there's a fairly easy-to-use "rescue

Fax Problems with SpanDSP
Hi list, I'm running current SpanDSP http://www.soft-switch.org/downloads/spandsp/spandsp-0.0.4pre6.tgz with Asterisk 1.2.22 somewhat successfully. Most Fax machines do work but I have problems with people having Tobit FaxWare and Shamrock CapiFax. http://www.tobit.com/login/mrd.asp?CategoryID=120 http://www.shamrock.de/ I've got black bars over the pages. In Tobit some content is Ok,

soho fax suggestions?
Need to replace our older soho fax machine with something more current. Would like to run the fax line through *, but haven't been able to make spandsp work correctly with digium TDM04b card. Our fax volume is very low (maybe a few per week), but we have multiple offices in three geographic locations and would like to be able to email the images to the correct location. For planning purposes,
