How to instruct Wine to use MSIE rendering engine by default instead of Gecko?
Hi, I need to debug some complex Javascript that leaks in MSIE (no leaks in Firefox though). For this purpose, I am trying to utilize programs like Drip and sIEve. Both programs fail under Wine, and my guess is, they try to use Gecko as the rendering engine (and this is not what's desired: Gecko works fine with my stuff). Now, provided that MSIE can be installed under Wine, and works, can

Re: Can't install IE6
Hi awdoyle, I too wanted IE6 installed for the purpose of Outlook Express and its mail handling, particularly with folders as I have many. (...disregarding alternative clients with add ons for the moment) I know IE6 can be installed using Codeweavers Crossover Linux app (based on WINE). With this install, OE is also installed. (You need to manually create a link to the .exe file) I currently

How do I use Internet Explorer 6.0 in Wine 1.1.3
Hi I just installed Wine 1.1.3 a couple of days ago, on my Acer Aspire 3623 Laptop (256MB and 40G HD) running PuppyLinux 4.0 OS. I installed Wine because I am taking an online math course at college and it needs a Windows OS and Internet Explorer 6.0 to run. Blizzard Game Store Downloader doesn't work
I'm not really sure what the problem is or how to report it. It likely affects each individual game downloader application regardless of the game. Anyway, the problem is that when you register a CD-Key or buy a digital copy of a game from the Blizzard store, they give you a P2P downloader app. Someone on the forums said it has some of your account information embedded in it to authorize

MS Project and IE trusted zone
MS Project 2003 seems to mostly work in Wine RC1 but it needs to use a html renderer to do anything useful. The problem is that whatever it uses need to be in the trusted zone in the Internet Explorer options which I don't know how to access. I tried to install IEs4Linux but that installs into its own wine environment ~/.ies4linux/ie6/ instead of ~/.wine/ so Project can't get use the

networking issues
Hello all, I'm quite new to the list, but experienced in linux. For the last several months, I've been trying to get some basic things working in WINE (eg. Internet Explorer). I'm running Ubuntu (Hoary and Breezy), and debian (Sarge). It appears that no matter what version (20040615, 20041019, 20050310, 20050930, 20050725, 0.90) I try to install (or build and install), I don't

wine 1.0 and ie 5.5
ok, i'm NO expert but I can learn a LOT of things. I have used wine very sparingly in the past, enough to know that IE, outlook and a few other "Win Only" apps will run. So when wine 1.9 was released i figure i HAD to have it. but BOY its a lot different. Installation was smooth, MDV rpms work as expected, but thats where it ends. I use the same IE5.5 install source I have used
