Softphones on thin clients...
Does anyone know if you can use softphones on thin clients? I have a
new customer that wants to use Eyebeam (about 10 users) on a thin client
platform. Each user has a little box on their desk that has a USB port,
mic and headphone jacks and monitor.
I am worried about conflicts when running 10 softphones on the same
server since they will all try to use por 5060.

enable eyeBeam to accept only one call
Hello
I'm using eyeBeam, and Asterisk keeps sending my clients a second call,
when they are still in one call (because eyeBeam has lots of channels).
I was using X-Lite (with 3 channels) and Asterisk never sent the client
a second call.
How can I force Asterisk (or eyeBeam) just to send one call at each time.
Is this a configuration I need to do in eyeBeam or Asterisk?
Thanks

Anybody as a clue? is it possible?
Now, when we try to send an Instant Message in the eyeBeam it says:

Does anyone have an actual delivery date on the new Polycom HD IP650's?
I'm getting sick of not having a backlit screen and thinking of

Little doubt on Asterisk and EyeBeam
Hi,
Recently I been using EyeBeam with Asterisk. I can make calls
with video, I'm using two PCs with EyeBeam but I noted that I can't
enable only one client to stream video, I mean if I start streaming
video on one client the other one doesn't receive any video until it
starts streaming video itself.
So I cannot have unidirectional video calls. I remember this
problem with

Eyebeam has gotten my interest but I do not have a "high-altitude" view
of its interraction with *, therefore my questions.
I called xTEN but they preferr to talk to telcos and ISP's

Hi,
Few subjects cause as many arguments as "which SIP client works best?"
on IRC #asterisk, voip forums, and probably the -users mailing list. I
have tried most of the SIP clients available in the last 5 years, both
with Asterisk and other platforms such as OnSIP.com, IConnectHere.com,
ZipDX.com and the venerable old FWD (in the days when that almost
worked). Speaking of ZipDX, we

Asterisk & Eyebeam chat function
Hi all,
Eyebeam has a sip-chat function and it would be nice if I would be
able to use it. But the problem is that I can't really find
information about it.
I can just try to send a message and on the Asterisk console a
message like this appears:
Jun 13 10:05:25 WARNING[6512]: chan_sip.c:7281 receive_message:

Eyebeam crashes when dialing an invalid number...
Lately I have been getting many complains that Eyebeam crashes when you
dial a number that does not exist. This happens in both R2 and ISDN PRI
lines. The softphone stops working and has to be restarted. The
response I got from tech support was:
the actual issue is that asterisk should not be sending a 503 service
unavailable when a particular softphone is not online.
The soft phone stops

Eyebeam hangs when you dial an unavailable number
I am having problems with Eyebeam when the user dials a number that is
not available. This problem exists with both Asterisk 1.4 and 1.6 using
Eyebeam or Xlite. The problem seems to be that when the soft phone
receives the 503 Unavailable response it will not be able to dial
another number for a few minutes. Anything you dial will say that the
number is unavailable and it will not even send the

HOW TO make xten eyebeam incoming video start before you send yours
Sorry, I don't remember who was asking about this, but it seems that if
you record a video message that contains the send video start, it will
actually fire up the remote receive window.
I.E. Previously I was using the recording section of voicemail to create
my video IVR's. This meant that when I arrived at the section to record
the message, I had already clicked send video in Xten.

G.722 problems with IAX
Hello,
I try to move our asterisk installation (3 Asterisk servers in different
offices connected using IAX and a lot of SIP phones, as well as ISDN
connections using CAPI) to use G.722 instead of G.711.
Asterisk 1.4.25.1 is used with the G.722 patch (the fixed one, which solves
the gain problem).
So SIP-to-SIP and to ISDN there is no problem. G.722 itself works and
transconding to G.711 for
