Foxpro with MYSQL
G'day If I have VFP9 working, a Mysql DSN which I can contact via isql and using unixODBC for this. Do I need to do anything else to wine ie; install MySQL drivers (Windows version) to get connectivity? I just finished checking out Paul McNett's pages, however the MYSQL drivers he used for VFP8 are "no longer supported" when I do "wine setup.exe". I have a saved

Wine 0.9.11 and Visual Foxpro 9
G'day I am trying to install Visual FoxPro 9 with wine. I have been following the instructions from "http://www.paulmcnett.com/vfp/wine/". I have had to slightly modify the paths used for the symlinks because the format of version 9 appears to differ from that of version 8. Or it's because they didn't lend me the original disks. Basically an extra directory level called

ODBC and Mysql
G'day Just for the record, I have wine and foxpro working fine with one small exception. I have followed the instructions from "3.3.6.1 Configuring ODBC on unix" and understand from the docs that this is all wine needs. I have a DSN called "tuna" to a MySql database called "dolphin" which I can use isql to connect to no problem. However, when I use the ODBC

IE6 on wine
G'day I was trying to install IE6 on wine and cannot get past the following error: wine: Call from 0x39140a00 to unimplemented function shdocvw.dll.IEWinMain, aborting I know it has been listed before, but I have gone through those threads and cannot find an actual resolution. Sorry if I missed it though. I am ultimately trying to get my Visual Foxpro 9 to access the mysql database and

reverse wine odbc
I know it's possible to access linux odbc data from inside wine, but I'm wondering if there's any way to access wine odbc data from Linux through odbc (or anything else). I ask this because I have data that can only be accessed via windows odbc drivers (a foxpro database), but I'd really like to interface with it from python in Linux (without having to run python under wine). The

problems with FoxPro app under wine 20020211-1
I've got WINE installed (version as above), from the FC3 packages linked to from winehq. I'm trying to run a FoxPro app. It installed OK, but when I go to run it, I got a window saying "Cannot locate FoxPro support library". I've soft-linked foxw2600.esl, which I presume is the library, to FOXW2600.ESL, and now I get a box saying simply: "WATCOM Win: Read

Once Markus told me that it should work, I rechecked. I just up and installed a new copy and there were all the great menu items he'd been seeing and I hadn't. Including the IE6 SP1

Wine / Visual Foxpro 7 Problems (mouse click freezes the program)
Hi, First of all, apologies if I'm not posting this in the correct place. I'm successfully running Microsoft Visual Foxpro 7 under Wine, however I needed to use the native versions of shlwapi and oleaut32. There is a major problem still, however, and that is that foxpro will freeze as soon as I use the mouse to click in certain controls (the command window, a textbox, an edit box,

FoxPro and Wine regressions
As much as I think I won't be able to accomplish anything, I keep trying, and I've come across something interesting.. I'm testing my regression by doing the following: - Start the app - Press CTRL-V to paste text into the Command Window (which is the active 'MDI' window - but not really MDI - by default) - Switch to another virtual desktop - Switch back to Foxpro (That makes

Wine and FoxPro 5 windows
Hi all, I'm not sure if I should try wine-devel, but I'll throw it out here first. I'm looking into some of the strange issues with FoxPro5, and what I thought were MDI issues. These issues don't exist prior to June 2000, and are basically known regressions. I did a trace (cvs as of today 2/19/2002): wine --debugmsg +win,+event,+x11 vfp.exe to see what was happening, and I

SugarCRM, NO!, Foxpro, SI?
I have dual posted this to the user and biz lists. Has anyone ever heard of someone running an Asterisk based system, yet abandoning SugarCRM, and opting to develop their own Visual FoxPro database/CRM? Please don't dump on me now, this is not my idea, I am just asking for comments, to see if my own initial thoughts are reasonably accurate. joe a.

Samba and FoxPro
Is Samba (1.19) incompatible with FoxPro? We have tried to network a database package (FoxPro is the underlying DBMS) by putting it in a Samba share. The database starts up and you can browse the tables, but it looks as though FoxPro's record locking system causes the entire share to be locked, so that further access to the shared drive (both in FoxPro and in the Windows98 Explorer) is

FoxPro on Samba share
Ok, I'm sure you've answered this more then once, but still here it is : I have a FoxPro 2.0 for Lan application that used to run on DOS boxes connected to a Novell server (and of course with Novel client). Both FoxPro .exe, .prg and database/index files reside on the shared disk, and the client only maps a shared drive and starts the FoxPro application from there. Due to some

Samba and Foxpro for Unix
Hi ! I have an unique situation. An SCO Unixware 7.1.3 with Samba 2.2.7a (yes, i know; it sucks !) On the machine, is running MS Foxpro 2.6 for UNIX (it's running pretty well for several years) but due to new demands (like Crystal Reports, Visual view; etc) the directories with DBF files were shared using Samba. At the beginning, when everything was only about reading, there were no

Visual FoxPro 5 apps
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has gotten Visual FoxPro apps working? Here's where I am. Under both fake_windows, and the 'real windows' installations, Foxpro apps seem to not release the mouse click when an MDI window is selected, or the scrollbars are used. In a print-preview, this appears to be a lockup (really, it's in 'select mode', for highlighting text). What
