hi all, i'm in a strange situation... i've downloaded sa-mp to play gta san andreas multiplayer, when i start san andreas with "wine gtasa.exe" it starts fine, i can play perfectly, but when i start sa-mp and click connect gtasa.exe doesn't shows up and if i go check the system monitor the process it's in "zombie" status and i get this output:

hi I recently got ubuntu dapper, very good... The only problem is i didn't give myself enough diskspace to install anything decent (and can't be bothered repartioning) and so i want to be able to use my existing installation of windows as wine... Is this possible and if it were possible, would this eliminate problems associated with using wine? (such as programs not working properly)

Dear all, I have read the on-line explanations I have found about Building R from sources, and istalling Packages from sources... Also, I have installed gcc4.0 and the gfrotran-4.2.1.dmg. I can just be sittting, doing nothing, and I hear the sound of my hardrive head moving. Just every so often. Like some process is writing a log. I have looked in /var/log and do see occational updates to acpi and messages, but that does not account for all the clicks. Is there somewhere else to look for logs? How can I make it so my users can not create folders with spaces in them? Or allow them to create such folders but rewrite them on the hardrive with a "_" or some other symbol. I am using usb-audio for Console/Dsp with asterisk. it is crashing 1.4.21 and also svn. During the brief times its working the audio is choppy but understandable. I have used aplay and arecord at the same time on the same wave file and they work fine every time and I have done it MANY times. Asterisk failes after 1 or 2 times. Any ideas on something I can try?
