Cisco 7961 new firmware stops reading configuration files
Hello,
I have been running SIP41.8-2-2SR4S firmware on the Cisco 7961 and have
recently upgraded to SIP41.8-3-2SR1S to add the DND button on the front
of the phone and also to hopefully resolve some issues with the phones
not registering after a long period.
Once we upgraded the phones now display "Error Verifying Config Info" in
the Status messages and will not process the

Cisco 7970 SIP won't update?
Does anyone know what triggers the 7970 to update its config? I
was able to get it to update to SIP, but the config I used initially
won't go away. I am making small changes to the SEPxxx.cnf.xml file and
rebooting the phone, the phone is downloading the (TFTP) new config
file, but I don't see any change on the phone itself.
I've looked at the VersionStamp and incremented that, but

cepstral vs festival
I'm about to begin working on an ivr project to do database backed
scheduling. I would like to use text to speech in some places. What are
the differences in using festival vs. Cepstral? How are they similar, how
are they different? Is one really better than the other? How and Why?
Thanks,
Eric

Cisco IP Communicator with Asterisk
I'm not sure if anyone has done this before or not but, I was able get
the Cisco IP Communicator soft phone to work with Asterisk using SIP.
Thought I would share my experiences. The key is on the installation. To
have the software use the SIP protocol type the following command:
"msiexec /i CiscoIPCommunicatorSetup.msi /qb SIP=1". After installation
configuration is just like

Does anyone know how to make this thing (7940) work with asterisk
(chan_sccp module) ?
I've set the configuration according to the wiki and now the phone just
keep asking for CTLSEP<xxx>.tlv from my tftp server.
In the cisco's web interface, I found this in the device logs :

Cisco 7961 + 7914, speeddials, BLF & Asterisk 1.4?
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with a Cisco 7961 + 7914 Operator
Console setup and speeddials/BLF on Asterisk 1.4? Would appreciate
feedback if this works reliably. I have a 7961 on skinny registering on
an 1.4.19 box with chan_sccp and speeddials work fine so that part seems
ok. I have no experience with the BLF part.
>From googling around it seems that BLF on the 7914 only works with

Unprovisioned 7961
Hi Everyone,
I am having some issues getting my 7961 working with Trixbox. I have loaded
the SIP code (8-3-3SR2) fine but when the phone boots up it goes into an
unprovisioned state. A status message shows up and says ?Error Verifying
Config Info?.
I have read quite a bit on this topic (getting 7961?s to work with Asterisk
and TB) and only came across a few postings where other people

Configure one call per line on Cisco 7941/7961
Anyone aware of how to configure one call per line on a Cisco
7941/7961? The default behaviour is to have two calls per line button,
and this is confusing for some of my users so I'd like to be able to
have the 2nd call ring the second line button, rather than being
shared with the first. I'm hoping this is something that is
configurable in the XML or on the phone UI.
Thanks

asterisk setup w/ voIP phones
Hi All,
I have setup asterisk 1.4.22; so far everything good.
Except, I am still searching for voIP phones.
Which grandstream phone should I buy, this is going to be for small
office for testing purposes.
I am on a budget, hoping to find someone here who has some used to
sell or point me in the direction of a seller.
I am in the US.
thanks,
Mike

Can asterisk work with a dynamic IP?
I know I can setup asterisk without Internet at all and it works as
local pbx.
Would an asterisk box work with a dynamic IP, with a dyndns name?
What must I take care if I try that?
bye
