NPA NXX data
HI all - I know, slightly off list, but.. I'm looking for a NPA NXX database with City and State. Actually it's for an Asterisk routing app I'm working on. I see several vendors that want a few bucks to those that want an arm and leg. I expect this is published somewhere by some government agency, but Google hasn't got me to it yet. OT - Number Portability
Sorry for the off-topic, but perhaps this will be of interest to other asterisk based ITSPs. We are starting service in a rural area where the ILEC has the rural "monopoly". From what we have read in the FCC docs this does NOT exempt them from number portability, but what does it take for us to qualify to receive their numbers? To date we simply have a few voice trunks to them,

Local Calling Area database?
Is there an easy way to get information about local calling areas out of telcos? I'm trying to get a list of area codes and prefixes in my local calling area out of Verizon, and it looks like they've stopped providing the information online. Is there an easy source that I'm missing, or do I need to call them and have them mail me a copy every few months? Scott

Who are XO and L3?
Almost all DID providers refer to XO and L3. Are they the only sources for DIDs in USA and everybody has to go to them? Could someone explain how exactly it works? Seattle IAX Termination
Does anybody know of any commercial providers of IAX termination with DIDs in the Seattle, WA area? I believe the area codes are: 425, 206, 253 Failing any commercial providers, is there anybody in the seattle area running Asterisk with a PRI coming in who might be willing to sell me an IAX trunk with a DID in Seattle? -- ____________________________________________________________ Muiz

In Vancouver is it a local to call from 778 to 604, and vice versa?
I've got a 778 DID for vancouver, but don't know if it will be a local call if dialed 604 and vice versa. What are the different area codes in Vancouver and why its easier to get 778 DID than 604? -- Zeeshan A Zakaria -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Big time system
We are an asterisk user... small time system 50-100 users or so. But, we have an opportunity to get into a big time telecom activity. It would have 2000 to 30,000 user lines per city, and we would like to have those brought back to a central location for control and because transport can be more economical than remote site rentals, maintenance and personnel. We could take the local lines into

CentOS 4.2 hangs at power-on boot
I've just installed CentOS 4.2 on a brand-new PC. It appears to be working fine except for one thing: When the system is first powered on, the boot sequence hangs after Starting udev: Initializing hardware ... storage network audio If I then hit the reset button, it reboots and successfully proceeds. Looking at rc.sysinit and the output of kmodule, it would appear that the problem is

AstDB/Berkely DB - Hash function? Balanced-Tree? b-Tree? Linked List?
Does anyone know enough about the implementation of AstDB to know whether the data structure is a Hash function, a Balanced-Tree, a b-Tree, or a Linked List? I'm trying to estimate the lookup 'cost' of a AstDB with around 160,000 keys? Obviously I already know that it WILL WORK, but the question is whether the data structure is optimal in the Berkeley DB AS IMPLEMENTED in Asterisk.
