MS Access, Endnote, among others
Hello, Has anybody been able to successfully install MS Office XP Pro in Wine? I don't care much about the whole suite, I need MS Access, but since I have a bundled cd, I don't have much choice. Apparently several folks have had similar problems in this list, and I haven't found solutions. Wine-version is 0.0.20041201-1 Debian unstable package. I'm not sure I'm starting the

How to fix Wine menu fonts that are too small
I just installed WINE and got it working to some extent, but the menu and dialog box fonts are too small. See an example at this URL: http://www.fixaim.com/temp/winecfg.jpg After searching winehq.org and Google groups and various other places, the only remedies that have been suggested have not worked. One suggestion was to copy the fonts found in such places as /usr/share/fonts/ttf and

I can almost feel Civilization 3 running
But not quite. If I could just get past the sound, I think it might start and run. I'm running Wine in desktop display mode, emulating win98. comdlg32, shell32, shlwapi, and '*' are set to "native, builtin" while the rest of the DLLs that the default installation names are builtin, native. I've tried running it with 'winedbg --gdb civilization3', and it always

Configuration after installation problem
I'm fairly new to wine. I'm running the version (Wine 20050211) that comes with SuSE 9.3. I had been using the version that came with SuSE 9.1 (Wine 20040213), and recently ran the SuSE 9.3 upgrade installation. Getting ready to try installing Word Perfect 8.0, I've been reading the help documents. I recollect a warning not to run wine as root. By mistake, I did so. When I did, it

Wine and Java timezone problem.
Hi! I am using wine to compile code for Texas Instruments dsp's. One step in the process is generating code from a graphic configuration file (tcf). When I try to do that, it fails with some Java related messages. The -b in my command tells tconf.exe to run in batch mode, so it doesn't try to open a GUI or something like that. I ran the same command in a dos-shell and it worked

Myst - config [x11drv] section documentation anywhere?
Hi, I'm attempting to bring up Myst but running into some issues that are presumably graphics related. I had thought that I'd read the manual before I started asking questions here but found that the Wine Configuration File page is inconveniently missing the [x11drv] section. Is there anything written but happens to be elsewhere that I might read? The question I'm trying to

version 20041019
Hi, I had a few problems with IE regarding either Java script or active X under wine so before I started wining I upgraded to latest available version on Gentoo dist 20041019. I saved my config file and made sure it was not changed after installation. (it should not have, I use emerge as root). Now whenever I start IE I get: $ wine ~/.wine/fake_windows/Program\ Files/Internet\
