Any good guides for installing Asterisk on Embedded systems like Alix boards?
Hi Everyone, Knowing that running Asterisk on an embedded board like the Alix2d3 requires some fine tuning. Do you know of any good guides out there that does this from beginning to end? Looking to run this in a small office environment. Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

[Zaptel] Checking that TDM card works?
Hello Since TDM cards are known for being particular when it comes to motherboards (PCI 2.2, etc.), I was wondering if there is a utility that can check that the Zaptel driver works OK and can tell if the TDM card is compatible? That way, if an FXO module is not reporting an incoming call, we'd know it's because of the Zaptel driver, and not something elsewhere. Are "dmesg",

SVN newbie - No trunk/ in http://svn.asterisk.org/svn/libpri/
Hello, I'm rather new to svn, so please, forgive me if this question sounds naive but is it normal that no trunk/ subdirectory is visible in http://svn.asterisk.org/svn/libpri/ ? I can see a trunk/ subdirectory in either asterisk, dahdi-linux or dahdi-tools. Regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

PXE-bootable diskless Asterix distro?
Hello Since I got the IBM Netvista to boot Linux, and am still waiting for the Compact Flash cards that I ordered, I was wondering if someone knew of an Asterisk distribution that can run on that kind of diskless host? I've taken a look at AstLinux and AskoziaPBX, but they both seem to be meant to be installed on a solid-state medium instead of RAM. For instance, the Netvista is unable to

HPEC performance
Does this make a significant improvement? The box in question I was going to try this with has a 4 port TDM card w/ plenty of horsepower, but I do intend to later migrate to a Soekris unit running Astlinux and therefore might not have the power to run it after. If the difference is significant, I may move to an ITX board so I could use a bigger CPU, but only if the hassle is worthwhile. Any

New Asterisk build
Hello Asterisk, Back in 2009 I built a small Intel Atom based computer running Centos 5 for my asterisk system. 5 phones, 2 people 1 POTs line and six or so SIP numbers. So basically no load. I'm feeling like it's time to build another machine. It's probably silly, but it's been six years and I can't upgrade the OS which is falling behind. I'd likely just put

General Kernel practices on CentOS
Olivier If you installed asterisk from source, you need to recompile it after kernel version upgrade. This will compile & install asterisk modules with latest installed kernel sources. -- regards, abdul basit On 19 December 2017 at 08:01, Ron Wheeler <rwheeler at artifact-software.com> wrote: > Linux x.y.com 3.10.0-693.5.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Oct 20 20:32:50 UTC > 2017

app_backticks and 1.6
Hello, Is there any app_backticks (see http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cmd+Backticks) equivalent or workaround for 1.6 ? In the past, I had trouble trying to use ENV() function. Complete OS/Asterisk disk
What options are available for installing an asterisk system onto a bare-metal system ? Ones that I have seen: pbx-in-a-flash trixbox astlinux What I am trying to achieve is to be able to shove a cd / usb into a machine and have it install asterisk, complete with my .conf files. I also need Cepstral installing. Ideally, I would like to be able to mount an .iso file, chroot into it, and

Minimal Asterisk Web Interface?
I'm looking for a web GUI to Asterisk that I can run on some small embedded hardware. I've used FreePBX in the past but the overhead is not to my liking and it is entirely too complicated. I do not wish to change my entire OS just for the GUI either (aka AstLinux). Is there anything out there? I'd like to have only a small set of features, primarily the configuration of extensions,

How to repeat pri show span and zap show channel commands
Hi, For debugging purpose, it might be useful to repeat every 30s or so, pri show span and zap show channel commands have the results merged with /var/log/asterisk/full log file? Any better idea than running an dedicated shell script with a "asterisk -rx pri show span 1" line ? Regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Dahdi and Junghanns QuadBRI
Hi, I'm using a revision 6822-enabled Dahdi-Tools (see https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=13897) with a Junghanns QuadBRI. 1. Do I still need qozap driver ? If positive, how is it recommended to get it ? 2. Which line should be included in /etc/dahdi/modules to have the appropriate driver loaded ? 3. BRI hardware supported by 1.6 libpri ?
Hi, Has anyone information about BRI hardware supported by 1.6 libpri ? In another thread, I was told a basic BRI card with HFC chipset (Bewan Gazel 128) was supported but I would delighted to lear about other harwarde (and specifically about Digium B410P). What to do when changing from one asterisk version to another ?
Hello, I'm compiling Asterisk from source on Debian systems. I'm currently writing a script I'm planning to launch when upgrading from one Asterisk version to another one within the same class (from 13.4.0 to 13.12.0 or from 13.12.0 to 13.8.0, for instance). Reading [1], I thought the following would work: cd /usr/src/asterisk-13.4.0 ./configure make make install ... cd

Dahdi and ztdummy
Hi, I need to run ztdummy for Paging, but now that this is all become dahdi I don`t really know where to start. I did build dahdi before building asterisk, but that`s it. I find it hard to find any documentation referring to dadhi instead of zaptel. I have no Digium hardware, but I still need the ztdummy timer (or whatever it`s called now). How do I get myself going? Dahdi, b410p and looping from 1 port to another
Hello, Is it possible, for testing, to connect an cat5 straight patch cord between 2 ports of a Digium B410P card and use these 2 ports as a normal dahdi trunk ? I've tried this: One port is set as NT, the other as TE. I would expect timing to come for system hardware so I choose in /etc/dahdi/system.conf : span=1,0,0,ccs,ami span=2,0,0,ccs,ami Results: - both ports lights are green -
