Polycom Phantom Ringing
I have a Polycom Soundpoint IP335. There are no inbound routes set to the phones yet. However, the phones are getting phantom rings. What is the legitimacy of these calls? Is there something I need to block to stop it? I believe its people trying to hack the phones/phone system but I cannot find where I read that before. Thanks, --E -------------- next part

The Phantom Call..
My system seems to be generating a call on its own... Unfortuately I can't give much more information.. I have an X100P and an S100U.. My Modem and the X100P share a common line.. When I am on the internet (which is most of the day) * just sits there and does nothing (apart from when I am testing ideas for the dial plan), but at night when I am sleeping and the modem is not connected then

Phantom Calls
Hi all, I have a client that is having problems with phantom calls. I have not been able to see it happen myself, but they say when it happens, the display on the phone (polycom 301's) says "Device" is calling, but when they answer the phone, there is only silence and then they hang back up and it sometimes rings again. I've been trying to track this down for a couple of

After setting up my FXO card, what should I now order from my telco?
Ok, so I'm setting up my small office. I have my asterisk machine setup and I have 3 sip phones connected as my stations and a 4 port FXO card ready to go(planning on only using 2 lines currently). What should I now order from my telco(sbc in this case) Everytime I call, they want to sell me this expensive $50 package that bundles everything and that's for a single line. Is there a

"ring splash"
Something new to me. Recently installed a 1.4.30 box for a small office with four POTS lines in a hunt (Digium TDM410P). Had the telco put a "call forward" option on the main line of the hunt. They dial a feature code from their desk phones (Polycom IP450) that results in forwarding the main number to our VoIP service. This is all to let them "try out" our dialtone

Phantom CallerID on transfers
Hi Gang, Running Asterisk 1.4SVN using Polycom 501 phones. Just enabled CallerID and for the most part it works as good as you'd expect anything to from the phone company to. Except: on about 1 out of 10 transfers, instead of getting a callerid of "joe cool <100>" or "abc company <205-555-1212>" I just get "asterisk". Here is what

RED on DAHDI channel
Asterisk 11.1 We have a situation where one of our incomings POTS lines will not answer. There are 2 lines configured by the Telco as a rollover group (rings the line that is not busy) and they feed into a Digium AEX410 on the server. The most recent time this happened, I did a /etc/init.d/dahdi status and saw this: ### Span 4: WCTDM/1 "Wildcard AEX410" *53 FXO FXSKS

phantom incomming calls from asterisk
About once a day I have noticed a phantom incoming call with a caller ID of asterisk@192.168..<cut off>. When I answer the call there is a dial tone and the call is disconnected. Any clues? David Koski david.nospham@kosmosisland.com

Rollover oddity
Hello, I've got 2 analogue lines (from SBC) coming into a TDM22B. SBC have put rollover from the first to the second line. The rollover works fine when handsets are connected directly to the lines (ie when Asterisk is not involved), but when the lines are connected to Asterisk, the rollover fails: the caller just hears the line ringing, and the person on the first (busy) line hears call

phantom(0) doesn't do what I expect it to [plotmath]
Hi, I'm trying to make a legend with a justified list of numbers, so I thought I would use phantom(0) to align the 3-digit numbers properly with the 4-digit ones: legend(x, y, xjust=1, yjust=1, lty=c(1,2,3,4,5), adj=c(0,0.5), legend=expression(phantom(0)*300*plain(K), phantom(0)*550*plain(K), phantom(0)*830*plain(K),

Phantom calls on FXO
I'm getting these "calls" at 16 and 46 minutes after every hour. The SIP phone rings, and if we pick up, we get a dial tone. If we don't pick up, we get the dial tone in a voicemail message. An analog phone connected to the incoming POTS line doesn't ring (whether or not * remains connected to the line). It's like the horror movie where the babysitter is getting

Marvell, IOMMU/VT-d, and pci-phantom
Hi, guys. I''ve been trying to use the pci-phantom command line options to xen so as to work around the hardware issue with the Marvell 88SE91xx SATA controllers in IOMMU ([Intel:] VT-d) mode, but I cannot seem to get my head around it. From having had a glance here: http://xenbits.xen.org/docs/unstable/misc/xen-command-line.html and in particular the syntax described as such:

Phantom Domain Master Browser
There's a phantom domain master browser showing up in my Samba nmbd.log file. I keep thinking that maybe it is left over in one of the files that I transferred over from the old server to the new server and it isn't clearing itself out. Is there a way to clear that and is it possible to have a phantom browser fighting over the Domain from a copied over file? I transferred all of the

Anyone Installed a Digium TE110P or TE120P card in Canada?
The Telco in Canada is been real painful. I was wondering if anyone has installed a Digium TE1X0P card in Canada and if their Telco was so difficult. The Telco will not provide us a service until they see a FCC or DOC number for the equipment ware are connecting to their service. If have found "FCC Part 68, ANSI/ITA-968-A, Including Amendment A1 and A2 Industry Canada CS-03"

Sporadic One Way Audio
I'm having an unusual problem at one of my branch offices. Every now and then they will make a call and the person they call is unable to hear them, but they are able to hear the person. The Asterisk server has only one ethernet interface and is on the same physical network as the 2 snom 300 phones and is connected to the PSTN lines with a Rhino R4FXO-EC card. Usually hanging up and

The Phantom Call.. T1 card too
I've had the same thing happen, only on the single port T1 card and a channel bank, and one of the FXO channels also having a phone attached elsewhere... I just wound up putting that channel in a different context and running Exten => s,1,Hangup (I'm just using the line for outbound dialing) -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com

phantom new mail (mailboxes keep on being reported as having new mail)
Hi, I'm using dovecot 1.0_beta3 on Gentoo Linux, and am experiencing a problem of what I call 'phantom mail'. This problem I have for a long time (pre 1.0), but at the moment I'm using 1.0_beta3 and the problem still is in there. My setup is as follows: - regular x86 box - running Exim and Dovecot - Exim saves new mail in maildir format in a local filesystem /mail/user/blabla

Random Disconnects - or ARE they?
I have one use on our PBX who has been experiencing seemingly random disconnects. The user is on the same LAN as everyone else, using the same type of phone (79XX loaded with SIP firmware) as everyone else. He had some disconnects a few weeks ago, I suspected the phone, so I swapped his with mine. I have since not had issues with his old phone, however, he has had issues using mine. So, the

Hard Ground (On Ring)
We have been experiencing static noise on one of our phone lines connected to our Adtran Total Access 750 which is then connected to a T100P card. I was convinced that, after rain storms, the static would get worse, it was surely a problem of Verizon's. Verizon sent a field rep out today and he told our secretary (I was busy) that there was a hard ground on the Ring portion of the line.
