I just looking about SpanDSP, Hylafax/Iaxmodem, AsterFax,...etc. The asterisk box has Digium hardware, one TE420B and one TDM2402 (8 FXO ports). Hi Last month, people reported a crash with Asterisk 1.2.13 and spandsp-0.0.3 when receiving a fax using fax detection. Hi, I noticed a strange behaviour: Faxing using spandsp (TxFax) from my asterisk box to my old, common fax machine at home works fine. Faxing from the same box to my office pc-fax (Hylafax) also worke fine. Receveiving faxes on my asterisk box using spandsp (RxFax) also works fine. It is a PSTN number connected to the digium card of that asterisk box. Then I faxed from my asterisk box (TxFax)

I just want to pdf and email faxes coming in over pstn on a TDM400P. Outgoing faxes would just go out over pstn, not through asterisk. All the voipinfo , etc, howto's are quite complicated. I know it is possible for * to detect fax signal, however is it possible to pass the call to Hylafax? I guess hylafax (is on an external modem) would have to be connected to an internal extension, that part should be easy I guess. In the same way faxes going out would need to be pass over to a POTS outside line. I'm aware that * has a fax module but I like Hylafax fax-junk blocking

Hi, I want to try detecting if a call is a fax from Zap/1 channel and if it is, forward it to a fax number. How to do it? I have iaxmodem and Hylax working, but it can only receive, but not redirect the fax call. Also, I have read that Asteris has a tool call rxFax. Could someone help me to understanding the difference in terms of functionality between rxfax and hyfax? Which one is better?
