openSUSE Asterisk Packages
Does anyone know who maintains the asterisk packages in the openSUSE buildservice? They are not updating Zaptel with their kernel updates and I want to get that matter corrected. I submitted to them a bug report but they seem to not care... https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=407408 ... usually within 24 hours a bugreport is assigned or some sort of comment is made.

Best way to handle include files?
Hi folks, I am building a new box. Want it to look pretty much like an older Asterisk 1.2, Debian box that is in production. The new box will used as a test box before we implement changes to the production box. New box: ================================================ # cat /etc/issue; uname -a Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 \n \l Linux ServerName 2.6.18-6-686 #1 SMP Mon Oct 13 16:13:09 UTC 2008

Using "#include" on zaptel.conf
Hi all. Is this possible to use an include parameter on zaptel.conf file? I mean, I want to have a bunch of files with zaptel configurations, each one with the configuration of one kind of board(TDM, analog, and so on). Thanks, Denis Galv?o

Noise on FXS ports (Sangoma)
Hi: I have a Sangoma A200 card installed in a server with two FXO modules and one FXS module. Analog sets connected to the FXS module have a "squeaky static" -- it's like static mixed with the sound of someone vigorously cleaning a window a few doors down. In other words, it's not a classic static noise, but it is noise, and it's distracting. Remote callers can hear this

Sip phones using the wrong context for an outbound call
Hi, recently I changend a few things in the configuration of the Asterisk 1.2.17-BRIstuffed-0.3.0-PRE-1y-d of a customer. One demand was that different groups of SIP-Phones are using different trunks to the outside worls, so I moved some of them to a Support context. However, dial out from this phones failes as they're still looking for an extension in the default context, which doesn't

#include not working in 1.4
I use a lot of included files in my dialplan and I see that #include file.conf is now interpreted as an attempt to include a non existant context. -- One day at a time, one second if that's what it takes

Asterisk config files and #include
Hi all, I am using asterisk version 1.2.18. I recently tried to change my asterisk configuration by using #include statements to include other config files in my extensions.conf and queues.conf files. My queues.conf is in /etc/asterisk. It includes several files which are in /etc/asterisk/queues. Each of these files contains the config of individual queues. Again each of the individual

Issues with Xorcom astribanks when running Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) as a quemu/libvirt guest
Hi, Xorcom astribanks get initialized straight on when using Ubuntu 11.10 packages but I am having a hard time to get the same result running in a qemu/libvirt image. The first difficulty is that astribanks devices get different usb device ids during their initialisation process, requiring hot plug support. I have figured out how to solve this issue using the technique described in this post :

extensions.conf #include behaviour
Greetings list, A quick question regarding extensions.conf #include behaviour if I may. I'm sure someone will know the answer off the top of their head... How does asterisk handle "overloading" of contexts. For example, say an extension exists in extensions.conf as follows: [incoming] <some stuff> Then one includes a, b and c.conf, each of which also contains: [incoming]

[Zaptel] Checking that TDM card works?
Hello Since TDM cards are known for being particular when it comes to motherboards (PCI 2.2, etc.), I was wondering if there is a utility that can check that the Zaptel driver works OK and can tell if the TDM card is compatible? That way, if an FXO module is not reporting an incoming call, we'd know it's because of the Zaptel driver, and not something elsewhere. Are "dmesg",
