Radeon 4800 or Ati in general viable for wine?
Longtime lurker and user of wine, but I'm about to replace my old nvidia card with a newer model and seeing as Ati is open sourcing their drivers. I was wondering if I should get a 4800 card, but only if the fglrx or x86-radeon driver is up to the task :) Like can it run direct3d 9 games like Eve? How about 2d performance in games like fallout 2 and planescape torment?

Listbox Question - Danish accounting program SummaSummarum
Dear Wine board. This is my first Post. This wine bug has been bothering me for two years now so now i think it is time to try and have it fixed. The first step is to figure out how to phrase my bug with the correct terms. As I don't know the names of the widgets since I haven't developed windows-application for some 10 years, I hope that someone will look at my screencast which i recorded

Windows 2000/2003 shares -> danish character problem
Hallo, I know this problem is marked as solved, but here is another solution, a solution which makes it possible still to use smbfs. I have been working on a project connecting Skolelinux ltsp-server to a windows 2000 server in norwegian secondary school and came across the same problem ( that is one of the teachers and his students in my school did first). Searching the net I found the

Sweave'ing Danish characters
Hi, I am writing an Sweave document and am using 'xtable' to make frequency tables of diagnoses of people undergoing cholecystectomy. Some of these diagnoses contain Danish characters ("?", "?", and "?"), and these characters are all garbled in the Latex document after I run Sweave. The odd thing is, everything looks absolutely right in the R console, and if

Call a script after every file modification
Is there a simple possibility to hook in a script which is called every time a file is modified via smbd, e.g. a user is adding a file via samba share? The script should get also the filename too :-) The intended purpose is to duplicate the write operations of samba to another disk. Yes I know there exists RAID and Rsync and other software, but I want to use it for longtime archiving purposes,

Dovecot Oy merger with Open-Xchange AG
To Timo and the Dovecot guys - congratulations! I'm sure this merger with OpenXchange is going to provide you with a lot of resources and opportunities. As a longtime user of dovecot, I do have a few concerns. I wonder if you can answer some questions for me. You say that OpenXchange really likes open source and shares your plans for the future. Is this a commitment that future versions

[LLVMdev] [IMPORTANT] Mailing list Move & Downtime (Tuesday, August 4th)
On August 4th (~9AM PDT, exact time TBD), all LLVM related mailing lists will move to a new mailing list server and will change to listname at lists.llvm.org. LLVMDev will probably change to LLVM-Dev to preserve consistency. This means a couple of things: 1) All mailing lists will be down on August 4th. We anticipated at least the full day of downtime (hopefully less if things go well). 2) SVN

Limit number of connections per user?
I'm working from modified 5.0p1 codebase. What I'm looking for is a mechanism to limit the number of simultaneous connections on a per-user/IP basis. That is, disallow multiple simultaneous logins/authentication of the same user from different IP addresses. e.g.: fred from 10.1.1.1 - accept fred from 10.1.1.2 -- reject while fred is still connected from 10.1.1.1 fred from 10.1.1.1 - OK
