0.9.14 source + invisible fonts prob
Hi all I build today 0.9.14 from source on a Linuxfromscratch system (gcc-4.0.3, glibc-2.3.6, binutils-2.16.1, Xorg7.1, freetype-2.1.10). My first attempt aborted on the configuration step, indicating that it couldn't find freetype even though the only part that seemed to be missing was: checking for freetype/ftnames.h... no everything else on freetype being yes. Anyway, the advice at

WARNING : wait4 timed out
Hi, I'm trying Warcraft 3 under wine and although the single player works flawlessly, I have a problem when playing online (with BNet). Every few seconds, I receive the following : WARNING : wait4 timed out and the game freezes for a 1 sec or so. It's killing me. Only happens on BNet, single player works fine. Tried cvscedega, same problem. I tried disabling pthreads but that doesn't

Astonia 3 on Wine (mmorpg game)
I've installed wine, so i can play an mmorpg game called Astonia 3. So far, the game loads fine, except for 2 problems: 1) no sound 2) no keyboard input from everything i've read under wine docs, there should be a file called config - but i'm sure you know it doesn't exist... no /tools/wineinstall file either. i've installed wine from the rpm for fedora, and i can't find

blur plugin and GL_ARB_fragment_program extension
The blur plugin has GL_ARB_fragment_program extension as a prerequisite. At least that's what I'm getting by looking at screen.c. I think there should be a check for the "CompScreen::fragmentProgram" flag somewhere in blur.c to prevent it from loading or at least executing a <null> pointer. I get a crash in line blur.c:1858, because CompScreen::programEnvParameter4f

problems installing wine
I just downloaded the latest version of wine from the site to install on my system. My system is an Athalon XP 2400+ running Fedora Core 3, fully updated. I downloaded the file wine-20050419-1fc3winehq.athlon.rpm and installed it, then installed winetools-2.1.1-jo.i386.rpm to go with it. I started winetools to do the configuration and completed each step of the base install one at a time until

Running a game in full screen mode?
UT2004 runs nearly flawlessly under Wine, and is about 10,000 times easier to install than its Linux counterpart. The only problem I'm having is running it full screen. What's the command for that? For example, is it something like: $wine UT2004.exe --full-screen I know --full-screen is the right option, so which is it? (Without editing the config file, or course.) :) Thanks! Hiji

Compiling Compiz
I have downloaded compiz-0.2.0 and tried to compile it. The INSTALL file talks about autgen.sh, but I am unable to locate it. I tried ./configure but it complains about a number of missing packages. Is there any docs on how to compile compiz on SLED 10 ? I have searched in a lot of places, but have not been able to dig up anything. A detailed list of what packages is required (and where to locate

No text displayed
Even though the applications seem to run smoothly on the backend, there is no text displayed whatsoever. No text on buttons, no text in drop downs, no text anywhere, period. This problem exists across all programs being run and even affects winecfg. Both the latest corefonts and fontforge packages are installed. I am assuming that this is some sort of configuration misunderstanding, possibly

Empty text-boxes in various programs. Tried recompiling with FontForge..
Does anybody know of a fix for missing font/text problems with Wine? I've read of many people having the problem, but no cure other than the suggestion of packaging problems and that one should compile from source with FontForge support. I have compiled from source with FontForge support but the problem is still here. I am using Fedora Core 5 on x86. You can see the problem here:

[LLVMdev] ELLCC updated to musl 0.9.14
Hi, I've updated the musl version of the clang/LLVM based ELLCC compiler suite to use musl release 0.9.14. As usual the musl guys have been doing a great job. The new release looks great! http://ellcc.org I've also started to port libunwind into ELLCC. That's the last step for a fully non-gnu run-time environment: libcxx/libcxxabi/libunwind/musl/compiler-rt for C and C++ under

MSWord97 installs properly but still won't launch (or save?)
Dear friends: I've been trying for some time to install my copy of Word97 (which I own, having purchased it directly from Microsoft with my own license number). I have tried the latest Wine 0.9.14. To do this, I first UNinstalled version 0. 9.1-4 (PCLINUXOS), then installed the new wine from source. The source install asked me to install a number of font files, which I did (bison,

Upgrade 0.9.8 to 0.9.12 issues
Hi all Anything special I need to do upgrading from 0.9.8 to 0.9.12? I run a few important Win apps and a recent change lost such things as virtual windows (black boxes) and all the text was super small greeked or non existent. Going back to 0.9.8 showed no permanent damage. Winecfg was impossible to read/use. Do I need to run wineprefixcreate? Didnt see anything in the winehq FAQ about
