GS/* phonebook
Hello,
I wrote a small AJAX phonebook targeted at Grandstream phones although
the basic functionality doesn't require a SIP-phone.
Asterisk integration (call history, incoming call info, click-to-dial)
is not yet implemented, but on my ToDo list.
Features
* Licenced under the GPL v2
* Uses gettext. So translation should be easy. Includes German and English.
* Uses xajax for a

Autofill phonebook??
Most softphnes (like Idefisk and X-Lite) have a phonebook. Is there a way I can fill those phonebooks with info from the Asterisk server?

how to provision asterisk's phonebook to Polycom vVX310's
Hi,
Am running a freepbx install and created trunks, extensions and groups.
Now I'd like to hand out the Asterisk phonebook to the phones (all VVX
310's). Is there an easy way to do this?
Best,

Using server side phonebook directory with SPA941
Hello list,
I got a couple of those "wouldn't it be great questions", as following:
1. Is it possible, with asterisk to hold a central phonebook directory
of callers?, so that when this party calls a "textual" caller ID will
be displayed on the phone display.
2. How can this be configured with Trixbox, I've looked at the
configuration options - I assume it plays no

Dialing from phonebook, and hiding the dialed number from the user.
Hi,
does anyone have a recommendation for a SIP phone, which
allows dialing from a phonebook, and hiding the dialed number
from the end users? Also from the call history of course.
It seems Mitel can do this, and I have a use case where this is
a requirement.
Thanks,
Antonio

Broadsoft-like BLF List URI ?
Hello,
I've seen several references in IP phones manuals to Broadsoft's BLF-List
URI feature (also referred to as List-Oriented BLF).
With this mechanism, a server is able to update the BLFs an IP Phone is
supervising without asking the IP phone to reboot, as for a reason I don't
know, most phones send BLF-related SUBSCRIBEs during boot time.
Is this feature compatible with Asterisk

Asterisk, bicolor BLF and DEVSTATE
Hi,
1. You can now find several SIP harphones with bicolor BLFs (see Polycom,
Cisco, ...).
Is there a protocol which best describes how to use this bicolor BLD feature
?
2. I would like to map these BLFs to the following user activities :
- user is logged off: no light
- user is logged in: green light
- phone is ringing: blinking light
- user is on call: red light
It seems that

Controlling BLF Leds ...
Is there a way to set/clear a BLF LED on a phone from the dialplan?
I want to use one as an indicator of some state in the PBX - in this case
it's "night mode" but I can think of other applications.
I have BLFs working just fine for "normal" stuff, just wonderin if I can
use them for more!
Cheers,
Gordon

BLF call pickup on Linksys SPA932
Greetings list,
We recently installed some Linksys SPA962 + SPA932 sidecars into a client's offices. The BLF functionality works fine, but call pickup using the BLF is something of an issue.
Following the advice on voip-info.org, I configured part of their dialplan as follows:
exten => _**2XX,1,Pickup(SIP/${EXTEN:2})
exten => _**2XX,n,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN:2},15,tw)
exten =>

BLF and notifyringing in Asterisk 11
I am trying to get something working that is just not doing quite what I
want. It may not be possible, but I figured it was worth asking about.

We have a queue with 4 phones in it. ringinuse is set to yes and the
stategy is ringall. In sip.conf, we have notifyringing set to yes as well.
Asterisk is sending

Windows 7 + Samba 3.4.5 locking problem
Hello,
after having no problem with four Windows 2000 workstations and one Samba
2.something server for several years in a medical practice the practice
software (DocComfort) dropped support for Windows 2000 beginning of this
year. So I bought new hardware for the workstations and servers and
installed from scratch. Now there are four Windows 7 Professional 32bit
Workstations (with UAC disabled)

Voicemail: search for name in a phonebook
Hi list!
I'm using Asterisk 1.8.30.0 on a OpenWRT device and it works perfectly.
I configured a voicemail and I receive an E-Mail with some information about
the call.
Again, wonderful!
Now my wish: I'd like to have Asterisk to search the caller in a list file
and send me the name corresponding to the number in the E-Mail of voicemail.
Is it possible?
I currently use ${VM_CALLERID} in

BLF trouble
Hello,
I have some trouble with the BLF indicator.
I have two phones that use the same hint:
13 => hint,1,SIP/phone13&SIP/phone13-wlan
This works great from the asterisk side, but it seems the status
change is too quick for the attached Grandstream-phones. When I ring the
extension the hint changes to "Ringing". The Grandstream blinks. Great.
Now, when someone picks up one of

CallerID name lookup AGI script
Hi all,
My VoIP provider (race.com) doesn't send name info with CallerID, so I wrote
an AGI script that does the following:
1) If it's a toll free number (800|888|877|866), set the CallerID name to
"TollFree Caller"
2) Use curl to look up the number in Google phonebook
3) If a business listing, set the CallerID name to business name, as is.
4) If it's a residential

GXP2k and BLF problem
Stopping and restarting Asterisk will lose the hints, then you will have
to wait until the phone registers again. With 1.2.7.1 a reload
shouldn't lose anything. Change the register time on the phones to
something less that 60 minutes if it's a big problem. Instead of
factory defaulting the phones you might find a simple restart will
re-register the phone and BLF will work on the phone.

Purpose of qualify=yes
We have a tenant who has been having issues with a congested connection and in trouble shooting it we've noticed that there seems to be a lot of SIP traffic even when none of the phones are doing anything.
We've determined that this traffic is mostly INFO packets generated by setting qualify=2000. I understand that 2000 ms is the default value for the qualification parameter but what
