IAX2 trunks unreliable becoming UNREACHABLE after a time
I have a network of offices using Asterisk that are connected via IAX2 trunks. The trunks work great for a day or two then for no reason at all one end of the trunk will become UNREACHABLE while the other end is still connected. The only way to fix the problem is to shutdown Asterisk completly then start it backup again. The end that dies is not always the same, some times it is server A and some

Re: poor state of IAX2 code? (was: why a per fectlyfine iax2 host becomes UNREACHABLE?)

I moved to SIP for an Asterisk-to-Asterisk trunk and my >problems flied away... Funny, I was talking to the CTO of a small CLEC and we were talking about Asterisk, I told him about my setup and my use of IAX, and his comment was about IAX was such a neat idea but

why a perfectly fine iax2 host becomes UNREACHABLE?
I've got this low-ping 100%-up dsl connection between two asterisk 1.2.7.1 servers. And oftentimes one of them would declare its opposite UNREACHABLE. Why can this happen? The host stanzas in iax.conf have raw IP's, so no DNS monkey business here.. An inquiring mind wants to know.

6.3-RELEASE-p3 recurring panics on multiple SM PDSMi+
We have 10 SuperMicro PDSMi+ 5015M-MTs that are panic'ing every few days. This started shortly after upgrade from 6.2-RELEASE to 6.3-RELEASE with freebsd-update. Other than switching to a debugging kernel, a little sysctl tuning, and patching with freebsd-update, they are stock. The debugging kernel was built from source that is also being patched with freebsd-update. These systems are

linux rsync <-> SSHDroid has started becoming unreliable after an upgrade of Fedora 28 to 29
People, For some years I have been using rsync quite happily to send / retrieve files to / from SSHDroid Pro but recently I have started having a problem when transferring large numbers of file - I am pretty sure it started after upgrading from Fedora x86_64 28 to 29 - but I am not 100% sure. Below is the tail end of the output of: rsync -avvv root at 192.168.1.100:/storage . >

Bug report: OpenSSH 3.1p1
I believe auth-rhosts.c, function check_rhosts_file(), contains a bug that shows up when doing host-based authentication where the client_user name is not the same as the server_user name. Line 76 reads: strlcpy(userbuf, server_user, sizeof(userbuf)); I believe it should read: strlcpy(userbuf, client_user, sizeof(userbuf)); Otherwise later in the function this test will fail: /* Verify that

Tripp Lite G1000U (0x2007)
Hello, I'm new to the list, new to NUT, but not new to Unix-likes. I could use some help getting NUT to talk to my Tripp Lite G1000U. Searching Google for "Tripp Lite G1000U" returns exactly two hits at this writing, so that may not be a good sign. ;-) It may just be rebranded for sale through this source (Costco). Externally, the G1000U looks much like the SMART1000LCD: an amber

Rapid DTMF missing digits
Version 1.4.2 but to be honest I have no reason at all to suspect that this is a problem with the asterisk software. I've able to replicate this from a few different "client" net connections and a across a few different linksys ata's. Where when you call into the host and enter the extension to connect to you miss the last digit of the extension. Almost every time you

Extensions fail to register themselves when all trunks are unreachable.
Hi, my asterisk server has a strange behavior when all trunks are unreachable (for example due to internet connection), it doesn't accept registrations from any internal extension, and, obviously, I can't do any internal call. On the log I see only lines like: [2013-09-30 01:35:04] NOTICE[1827] chan_sip.c: Peer 'xxx' is now UNREACHABLE! Last qualify: 36 and then [2013-09-30

Multiple IAX2 Trunks Load balancing
Hi - I have 2 Asterisk servers connected using 05 IAX2 trunks. I want to load balance incoming calls over IAX2 trunks. If any trunk goes down the calls traffic will be shared with other available trunks. When it gets Up the script is supposed to perform as desired i.e in load balance mode. Thanks in advance. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

IAX2 ping confusion and unreachable soft phones
I've turned on debug in a (IAXComm based) soft phone. I see the phone sending pings to *. I see * getting the pings. For some reason, with iax2 show debug, I never see any response on the console from *. However, the phone shows a response with INVAL. Seems like an odd response to a ping request. I believed it should get an ACK. Is that wrong? If I should get an ACK, what could I have messed

Video through IAX2 trunks
I have a couple of Asterisk 13.4 servers with an IAX2 trunk between them: [phone1] <--pjsip--> [server1] <--iax2 trunk--> [server2] <--pjsip--> [phone2] With this setup, audio calls work fine, but video doesn't work: I get a black window and if I remember correctly, I was getting white noise in one direction (not sure if the noise thing is asterisk's fault or the

iax2 trunks between asterisk servers
Hi, I am using iax2 trunks between asterisk servers and am having a callerid problem. We are using realtime sip clients distributed between multiple servers. Only in test now but have run into a calleeid problem - the name of the called party is not displayed if the called party is on a different server, it works if the called party is on the same server. On each server sip clients show calleeid

problems with trunks IAX2 and queues
Hi for all I'm making some test and I can see an incorrect behaviour. I have two asterisk with an IAX2 trunk. In asterisk 1 I have a queue and an agent and, in Asterisk 2 I have three clients. When the clients make calls to an asterisk 1, its calls entry in the queue. While they are waiting, an agent login into the queue. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting but the clients never contact

IAX2 peer unreachable in one direction - NAT problem?
The situation is one of my asterisk servers is behind a NAT firewall and one is not. Both servers have multiple IAX peers. The NAT firewall has port 4569 mapped through to the asterisk server behind. But, the natted server is almost permanently unreachable from this non-natted server, even though, the non-natted server is almost permanently _reachable_ from the natted server. Details are below

IAX2 peer unreachable in one direction - NATproblem?
To answer my own message, I figured out a solution (untested) about 10 minutes after posting and leaving the office. Doh! Anyway, the solution (now tested) was to make the Asterisk server behind the NAT register with its peers. Despite reserving port 4569 in the firewall, that was not enough in this particular NAT firewall - it was only being reserved for one connection. Kind regards, Sebastian

IAX2 REACHABLE/UNREACHABLE
All, I have an issue with IAX that I can't comprehend. Approximately every eight minutes my servers go unreachable. They stay unreachable for exactly 10ms. I have two servers running IAX and it happens on both servers simultaneously. I have searched the archives and see similar issues, but not the exact same one. I am on the current CVS stable version of *. Also, during IAX calls,
