Hello, I'm trying to create a H.323 trunk between Asterisk 11 and Avaya. I have done this before between Asterisk 1.6 and Avaya but had some issues placing external calls from the Asterisk to the Public network which is connected to Avaya. I'm trying to create that trunk on Asterisk 11 because the 1.6 is outdated and has no support. On the Asterisk side I have Aastra 6731i SIP phones

I just registered an Avaya 9620 set to my Astlinux system (0.47 - Asterisk 1.2.22), using Avaya SIP Firmware version 2.0.1.34. Set mailbox=ext at default in the sip.conf Found MWI worked immediately. Anyone have an H.323 trunk tied between their Avaya and Asterisk box that works? I am having some issues trying to get the two systems to connect. I am using the ooh323 channel to try to make the connection between the two system. I have all my configs if anyone would like to look over them. I have added H.323 support for ASTERISK PBX using the OpenH323 library. I thought that since the Avaya IP phones are H.323 phones I will be able to make them register to Asterisk server. Does anyone know if this is possible ? Katerina

So far I have not found a way that I can register the Avaya phone with Asterisk. From what I have found so far is that Avaya phone needs the Avaya Media Server and Avaya Gateway.
