Hi all, on a new installation, HP Xeon at 1,83 with 2.6.18-amd64 image from Debian Etch with Asterisk 1.4.20.1 and zaptel 1.4.11 -both tar.gz from digium- we get: [Jun 11 14:54:29] ERROR[6686]: asterisk.c:2952 main: You have Zaptel built and drivers loaded, but the Zaptel timer test failed to set ZT_TIMERCONFIG to 160. ztdummy, zttest
Hello, Today we setted up a server that needs to use MeetMe but doesn't have any Zap hardware. So we need to use ztdummy (at least, this was our idea). Rarely: zttest is not working at all (100% bad, using zttest -v doesn't give anything, etc.). Of course, after load ztdummy, there isn't any background or anything. It is the same kernel (Debian Etch default kernel, 2.6.18) than

Recommendations for kernel config
Hi, I'm building a test asterisk server and building the latest kernel I got to wonder if there are any specific recommendations about schedulers and so forth for optimum performance. There are a few areas that raise questions in my mind and I wonder if anyone has any opinions/comments on which settings are most suitable for use with asterisk: SLAB Allocator (SLAB or SLUB?) Tickless

ztdummy
What does it take to get ztdummy to work correctly? I have a new laptop HP HDX9200. I am running asterisk 1.4.19 and zaptel 1.4.9.2 Zaptel compiles fine. asterisk compiles fine. ztdummy loads asterisk runs. Problem is playback() does not work. So then I stop zaptel, asterisk runs and playback() now works. However, meetme()'s dont work. I need ztdummy I'm pretty sure for that. I am

meetme conference latency degrades...
We have recently started making more frequent use of the meetme conference of our * system. We are using v1.0.8 with a 2.6.11 kernel on our system. We generally have 4 callers in it: two with the gsm codec and 2 with g729. Initially, the conference works fine and there is little latency. After about 15min., though, the latency is very noticable and by 25min it's unbearable. If we all leave

Fax and Asterisk
Hi I am trying to build reliable fax solution with asterisk, iaxmodem and hylafax. I am attempting to do this on Compaq DL-360 with 2 pentium 3 1.2GHz (512 cache) and 2GB of RAM. I am using a Sangoma A101. After installing the newest zaptel and wanpipe-3.1.0 beta I did zttest and it didn't give me good results: 99.975586% 99.975586% 99.975586% 99.975586% 99.975586% 99.975586% 99.975586%

Asterisk and Xen
Hey All, I've been working on trying to get asterisk to play nice under Xen and I've run into a bit of a road block. I'm not using any hardware stuff only ztdummy. First I had issues getting ztdummy to work but that was solved by recompiling the xenU kernel to have CONFIG_CRC_CCITT=y which it was missing. Now ztdummy is seen fine in the virtual machine though when I run

Cutted audio or 2/3s blanks on EuroISDN - Asterisk1.4
Your Zap conf files would be helpful. Zttest results? Cat /proc/interrupts. Sharing interrupts? Any funky error in the logs? "That is not a valid conference number.." with ztdummy running
I previously had Asterisk 1.0.7 running on a Linux 2.4.x kernel with ztdummy. I was able to do things like meetme and music on hold. I recently installed Asterisk 1.0.9 on a different machine with a Linux 2.6.x kernel running ztdummy. I installed and configured everything the same way, but when I try to call into a conference room I get the error message stating, "that is not a valid

ztdummy does not load properly at server startup
Hi I run asterisk 1.4.2 with zaptel 1.4.1. Zaptel is only needed for the ztdummy driver to get the Meetme() application to work. I don't have any specific hardware. And it does work nicely. When I reboot the machine however I have to manually load the driver like this: [root@vink ~]# modprobe ztdummy Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf line 0: Unable to open master device

ztdummy kills audio
I'm running asterisk/zaptel 1.4.5. If I load the ztdummy module, the dialplan hangs when it tries to play audio (i.e. Playback) -- and I just hear static on the line. I'm running this on a debian system. I actually have it working on a different debian system but have yet to discover the important difference between the two installations. Any advice on where to look? Thanks John

Asterisk under SUSE 9.2/VMWARE 5.5.1
Hi everybody I'm trying to make Asterisk 1.2.1 run under VMWARE and Suse 9.2. I use ZTDUMMY module for timing and ZTTEST gets an average precision of 98,4 %. Is there any way to improve it?
