Suddenly wine has a problem
Wine has been working perfectly over the last few months, and suddenly today I seem to be having this problem when I have not modified anything since the last time I sued wine.
I should also point out, I have made no configuration changes to wine to cause this issue. Does anyone have any advice on how I can fix the problem. Thanks

Samba 3.0.4-3 bug re: libcupsys2-gnutls10
I hope this is the right place to post this. Apologies if not.
My samba 3.0.4-3 install was working fine last night on debian 2.4.23
unstable (see uname below) and happily tranferring large files at 77
Mbps across my LAN (a first! but that's another story) until, suddenly,
it stopped and would only move data at about .05 Mbps. Investigation
was futile, so I uninstalled Samba and then

Asterisk and hylafax: how to debug ...
Hi,
I hope you might give me some hints on how to find where my
configuration is wrong, I am new to Asterisk and do not know, how to
find the problem.
Running Asterisk (version: 1.8.13.1~dfsg-3) on Debian Wheezy. On the
same maschine: Hylafax fax server. I want hylafax to use t38modem (a
virtual T.38 modem) for sending faxes. t38modem schould connect to
asterisk on the same host.

Some applications print, some don't
Hi,
I have a wine working for an application called Infovet that is
written in Visual Basic, i guess (there is a dll called Vbrun200.dll).
Everything but printing works fine.
I tested with notepad.exe that comes with wine and it worked well.
The printer was detected, kprinter was started and the page is OK.
Here is my config:

Recommended Packages document
Fresh install of Debian Etch. Before I install wine (from winehq), I'd like
to double check something about the following document. I've only included
the portion refering to Debian.
http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages
The document was last edited 2007-10-07 15:26:02.
My question is about the last comment about freeglut3-dev. Still required or
not, would there be any problems if I

Compile Samba-2.2.4
As the list probably already knows I'm fairly new to Linux / Samba. Please
bare with me. =)
I've managed to compile Samba-2.2.4. The first compile went wrong using the
"configure -with ldap" command (something like that). Anyway 2 days later
after apt-get' ting any packages with "lib" and those that sound like they
belong in the build =) I got it to compile

Printing Setup
I have two Ubuntu Linux installations, one 9.04 and one 9.10, both with WINE 1.1.31. I have a networked printer, an HP Photosmart C-5100. Aps in WINE on the 9.04 machine print perfectly. Nothing prints in WINE using the 9.10 install of Ubuntu.
when I check the printer setup I see this:

Interesting coding problem ..
Hi,
I have a track which when encoded with Mode_C or even Mode_E does
not encode well at all ...
It's a jazz flute track with a lot of plate echo.
The flute (centred in the mix) almost disappears ...
I am away for a few days, but if someone would like to look at this
I would be grateful ...
A small clip can be grabbed from my ftp server ...

Samba installation error on multi-processor server machines with Linux 2.6 SMP kernel
Hi,
I tried to install Samba server into my hp-proliant server that is
support for linux 2.6 smp Kernel. But when I am going to install samba
it removed my smp kernel and try to install samba. What I want to know
is why samba installation removed existing smp linux kernel. Below I
have paste the screen shot of the samba installation.

[[ Samba-3.0.4 (compiled) does not load printers ]]
Hi all,
So the scenario:
Pentium 133MHz (x86), 32MB RAM, HD 4.7GB
Debian GNU/Linux 3.0r0, XFS released by Blade
All upgrades (apt-get dist-upgrade) applied.
Samba PDC (LDAP), running as domain master,
prefered master, domain logons. Using Samba3-beta2,
it is a production server 24/7, and we are migrating
the LDAP databases to use idmap backend. :)

Beta4 artifact/bug in the bass area
Hi!
Today, I found an encoding bug with a new tune by me.
http://www.uni-karlsruhe.de/~us87/ogg/vorbis_bassrumble_demo.rar (2.1MB)
contains the original .WAV in 16bit/44.1kHz and an .OGG encoded at
350kbit/s. I found the bug when listening to the 128kbit/s version, but
encoding it with that high bitrate didn't change a thing.
The deep bassdrum contains a rumbling, knocking sound (the first

RSAT Print Management won't show shared printers under the "Printers" section
Hai Tomas,
And Marc thank for having a look also.
@ Tomas, now i think you setup is ok, but review it based on my setup below.
Now, i am using samba 4.6.8 here, but this is working as of 4.2.x.
There where a few small problems, i just cant recall exact what these where.
If you want to stay in the 4.5 line, then its an option to try my 4.5.14 package if needed.
I did some testing also, my

Because otherwise some frames won't get through because the interface can't
receive them, and the job of network equipment is to enable and maintain
communication :-).

Problems when attempting to build wine from source on Ubuntu
I am trying to build Wine from source on an X64 Hardy Ubuntu system in order to do some regression testing. I am having trouble however to build the dependencies for that.
I already did these a while ago, but I re-applied just in case the instructions from this page for the apt repository http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb. I constantly get this error:
