Voicemail systems- flow charts, digit/key cards, etc
Does anyone have flow charts or digit/key cards for some of the more popular voicemail systems out there?
(shows which digits/keys to press, where it takes you, etc.)
I need to create some of the new voicemail system.
Send 'em my way if you have them.

New voicemail app (supports many interfaces, including Audix)
We just completed a new implementation of voicemail for Asterisk. It's much cleaner than Comedian mail and can emulate several voicemail user interfaces, including Audix. It's a great replacement for Audix. All of the sounds/prompts are presently being re-recorded by a professional female voice.
If you are interest in the app, let us know at nt_jnewman at yahoo.com.

Asterisk with External Voicemail
If anyone could help me with this, I'd appreciate it!
I've got an Asterisk deployment where I'd like to use an existing external
Octel voicemail system. I've been trying to define an extension that if
the call isn't answered in a few rings, to dial our external voicemail
number. That voicemail system works by seeing the CALLED number and
routing the call to the

asterisk server as a voicemail server forlegacyPBX -- FXO or FXS???
Thanks. Is there a way I can log into the Merlin Magix to determine
that? How else do I tell?

asterisk server as a voicemail server for legacy PBX -- FXO or FXS???
Hey All,
I'll be configuring an asterisk box to be the voicemail server to an old
Merlin system which had an octel 100 voicemail server that is now dying.
My question is simple: do I need to stick an FXO card in the asterisk
box? My logic is that if the Merlin Magix system is actually generating
electrical current, then I would need to have an fxo card. Is this
correct?

Please help test the gender detection module at 575-613-4392
I need your help: please help test the gender detection module at 575-613-4392.
I wrote a gender detection module and thought I'd try it out. It only takes a second. I've been showing 90%+ accuracy and I want
to make sure it's working correctly. Rain and significant background noise seems to throw it off, so I still have a bit of work to do.

1.4 sounds long space before and after prompt
Is anyone else finding in the new audio files that the longer space
at the beginning and end of the files tends to be extremely irritating?
An excellent example is when going into voicemail and Allison says how
many messages you have, the space between the files is annoyingly long:
you have ...... four ...... old ...... messages
..and..
first ...... message ...... received ..... July .....

Asterisk sound files, audio bandwidth, and sound quality
Hello, everybody:
I'm developing an application using Asterisk and a TDM-400 card.
I understand the concept of the difference between GSM and WAV files
when using Asterisk, but I'm not happy with the sound quality with the
GSM compression. It's merely *acceptable* for a telephone call, but for
anything else, it leaves something to be desired.
Case in point -- if you compare the

Asterisk FXS & SMDI for Octel access
Hello:
I've been wrestling with an integration issue for which there also
seems to be one piece missing. I'm hoping someone on this
list can help.
Due to a complete lack of cooperation from our current
voice provider we are in need of an alternative way to access our
Octel 350 voicemail system from our SIP (SER) proxy.
I can redirect and relay calls to numerous destinations via

Thanks for the feedback. I did some research and it looks like you were calling over international lines. It also appears that there was high than average static on the line, which is not normal for my system. It's true that I threw my recordings together quickly and the beep was supposed to be funny - it was actually me saying "beeeeeep". However, the static and noise you received

MYSQL asterisk configuration
Hello all.
I am a little (allot) lost on my next hurdle in getting an asterisk
system built.
I would like to get my asterisk servers configured exclusively from
database. I have read through the wiki on this subject but once again I
find that there is a certain level of knowledge that is assumed. As of
now I know nothing about databases in general and specifically MYSQL. I
do not know

New voicemail vs. minivm
This system targets a different market...
I like Olle's system. He did a good job. Olle's minivm is a great choice for those wishing to build customized voicemail systems, but as the name suggests, the systems are very basic.
Large systems are difficult to maintain in the dial plan and some of the functionality we need would be difficult to implement with that approach.

Asterisk to Email
How can this scenario be implemented please?
THIS IS NOT A SEND TEXT application.
A call arrives on the IVR.
After hearing several vectors to guide the person through information
I want to confirm a transaction via email to his cell phone.
Specifically, I want to use his phone number and then append the SMTP
suffix from his service provider.
Press 1 if you use Verizon, 2 if you use ATT, 3 if

Dropped calls -> reproducing scenario
So I think I am able to reproduce the dropped call scenario.
Here is what I do to get a dropped call:
1. Call 1-800-tmobile
2. Go true their IVR and get connected to the customer service IVR
3. Enter my number and SSN
4. press 0
5. Then the audio please hold starts. After about 2-4 seconds the call
gets dropped. (fast busy tone)
The time on my phone will stop running (call time) and I will get

CRM integration (was RE: CallerID)
FYI - We have a solution here provided by Lucent that allows us to play /
review voicemails left on the Octel attached to the 5ESS switch... While
this is a simple webpage - doing a refresh every 3 to 4 seconds, it does
actually work.
The only loss of course would be if someone hung up on first ring - the
browser might not catch it in time.
